I have one if you want to check my video out, i have my kit for comparison to what ever premier you are getting. I know this is a little old also so if you still havent bought a kit. i would definately recommend the premier olympic series

Vintage Premier drums (not olympic) are the nicest sounding kits you could ever own, I have had Pearl Masters/DWs/Vintage Ludwigs/gretsch...A good set of vintage premiers in the right hands will sound warmer, fuller than any other kit. Love em!

but you can't say they are overrated.... DW drums are so widely respected among professionals and all other drummers that they must be doing something right to have got this reputation in the first place...

A kit isn't something that grows with expirience, if that where true most custom drum bigwigs would be playing exports (not any one drummer personally). If that guy can afford a DW, then great! brutal honesty: 1. neither one of these guys is a great drummer. slop city. 2. with the webcam mic or whatever recording this, both kits sound pretty similar and dead. 3. the DW guy has a huge advantage in terms of set-up and hardware quality. 4. DW is the most overrated brand ever and Premier is one of the most underrated, IMO.

DW's are all about keeping it american, i got a yamaha beech custom that sounds exactly the same as dw's and saved a few thousand going that route. plus yamaha's have a reputation of having some of the best finishes there are

oh no doubt DW has some stand alone finishes, but i personally found yamaha's to be better, like a sparkle finish on a dw is a wrap and has that ugly edge on it, bu i've seen yamaha's with the same finish but it's a paint so the shell is completely smooth.

but in the end if someone has an amazing looking kit and can't play then it doesn't matter at all.
