Hi Shawn, thanks for the videos... much appreciated. Regarding backups, I am sure that you know the difference between full backups and incremental backups. Doing full backups can really chew up time and disk space. Is there a favorite Linux program that will do say weekly incremental backups perhaps updating a copy of a full backup.
I defiantly agree. You never know when your computer might crash or break. I came home form school a couple of weeks ago to find my laptops hard drive fried just out of the blue. I luckily backed up my important data to a removable hard drive, but I wish I had backed up all of my home directory so I won't have to reconfigure everything. I'm having to use my dad's computer right now, and I have to get re-used to windows. I just hope I get a computer of some kind for my birthday tomorrow.
Luckily I got a new laptop for my birthday! And it's been great so far! Microsoft was kind enough to include a nice "Shrink Partition" option in Vista so I could Dual Boot easily. It's Wi-Fi worked with kubuntu right out of the box, AND compiz even worked without me having to install specific drivers, like I had to on my last computer. And it's a pretty fast computer, and I actually have a keypad this time! I'm just having trouble trying to hook up a monitor to it, but that's just one thing!
Um no, just your personal data. There are other backup means that will do that -- and they're great ideas don't get me wrong. Backing up your home folder is one of those, "Better than nothing" type things. :)
i really dont like saving anything like pictures, video, audio on local drives, i all ways prefer to stream everything im ready for the linux online operating system.!!

I can't backup, my disk is full of 250GB. I'd update but I don't have the internet download allowance.
