@leCaHdAgSbEel It is a "way" of singing, if you use distortion when you play i don't think that someone will say that you are not playing, the same thing happens with growl, it's singing, there are notes, there are lows, highs and mids, but they are not as important as in the clean singing, as the distortion on the guitar is a way of singing, it's just heavily distorted. But that's the point, growling is meant to be primordial and unhuman, it's a way to express brutality or other emotions.
