  • This video was awsome. Like you said the 4Ps that you can control and 6Es that are uncontrollable. I fond that some text book includes Global environment in 6Es. So what's the global environment? And how does the global environment impact the business?

  • Whats the name of the song at the beginning, ITS FUNKY :)

  • Hey Prof, thanks for the clip.

  • Great and informative video. This built well off of the basic marketing courses and provided some useful incite into all the internal and external factors that affect a business. What's interesting is that all of these components (external) are changing everyday, and in order to be effective in business as marketers we need to ensure we are staying on-top of all the trends in the external environment.

  • i really enjoy this video because this video remembers me about 4P's and 6E's and how it affect the business which i have learned in my first semester .I really like your teaching style also it is cool from other professors.Keep on going sir.

    Rahul D.- MRK460MT

  • I wish i didnt have to wait till the 4th semester to learn about how the external factor influences the 4 P's. Very Good lecture sir!

  • profwitiger:would you submit your instruction in written format.

  • This video is great, I love that it is a recap of what we learned in MRK106 and BUS106 and that you gave us examples of each. I think these videos are a very effective and informational and I like that I am able to go back and watch them whenever necessary.

  • Prof. REINNOLDT brought me here! THUMBS UP.

  • This video is a great fundamental learning tool. It covers the most important and basic parts of marketing, in an efficient and informative way. Definitely a great recap for me and something I will use throughout this course!

    Sylvia T. - MRK460MT

  • ok first of all sir all teachers should do videos they really help.

and i know you say that the competitive enviornment is the most important but in the way our economy is i feel that the economic enviornment should be first then the competitive.

    Paul Hayden- MRK 460MT

  • This is a very good video because it allows me to understand what the main difference is between the 4Ps and the 6Es in business. By watching this video, I learned that the 4Ps are the ones that I can control when working on a business/marketing plan. As for the 6Es, these are the ones that can influence me to make marketing-related decisions by using the 4 Ps.

    Jordan Miller- MRK 460-MT

  • oh sorry the last post is mine, karen le le tran, 040303109

  • just watching this video makes me have adanvce of what i am going to learn in this course. i wished that other prof do what you do, by posting up videos about the course or unti, so i could learn better and others too, because some students learn by listening and looking, sometimes teaching in classrooms and only using textbooks, is sometimes harder to learn the materials.

  • I never knew there was more than just the 4Ps in business that affects business. The 6 environmental factors was something that i've never heard of before. Thank you for the awesome video!~

    -Bryan.L BUS 106

  • my pleasure Brian - and remember few people think of "Geographic Environment", and the most important one is the "Competitive Environment"

  • this vid was awsome. it was fast and very informative. in 10 min ive got the 4P's and 6E's that are the core of business.

i totaly lucked out with this prof from reading all the great comments

    -S.Lupo BUS106

  • I am the lucky one to have smart students who appreciate this

  • This is a kind of advanced version of what i have learnt from basic marketing course. Apart from shaking video recording, this is pretty good review. The example you gave truely help me to understand all 4P's and 6E's deeply.

For technology environment, i believe this factor take bigger part in nowdays program and projects. It usually cost more than other factors and also it will garantee how strong competitive advantage you have for your business.

    Tao H - Summer 2011 MGTC44

  • shaking video recording - ya, sorry...

  • I missed the second lecture so this was really helpful. I didn't completely understand the examples under technical environment. Will check out your website for more details. Thanks for this overview.

    Sobia A (MGT C44)

  • I found this very helpful for not only this class, but for the MGD415 class as well. It definately opens up your eyes and makes you think about almost everything that can possible affect your business. Furthermore, it helps when creating contingency plans. Therefore, you can avoid getting screwed over. This is definately something to take into consideration when approached with real life decisions. It makes you arrive at the best outcome for your business.

    MGD415 - Ameerah R.

  • Thank you for the brief overview. I like how you brought in real life examples to make the the 4Ps and 6Es very easy to relate to and understand.

    R. Dogra - MRK460

  • hi professor,

i was just going over the website/recapping and i wasn't so sure about: when a celeb or musician uses/sings about your product though they weren't paid to do so, would that be part of the socio-cultural environment? same thing with bloggers rant about a product or an video that becomes viral b/c they don't really CONTROL that like one of the 4Ps right?

  • (continuation)

or would that be considered under one of the 4Ps because it's due to the well execution of these 4Ps that you were able to get that kind of natural, word-of-mouth marketing?

Thanks and have a good one this weekend!

    J. Liang - CCT322H5S

  • Thanks sir, that was good review for me. This is going to help me remember the terms through the relevant examples you've used :)

    Sydney Ravnaski MRK200

  • I think it is safe to say that without the 6 environments thoroughly examined and studied, in each business venture, the 4P's are virtually hopeless.

The Competitive Environment seems like the most efficient, indirect way to keep business owners up-to-date and in-check. I.E. Aritzia still does not have a chip-reading debit machine, yet makes the most money per square foot in yorkdale mall.

  • @sexychick2000000000 Saili Gaitonde BUS106

  • I hope so, good luck

  • This was a great brief recap of my Year 1 Marketing course I previously took at Ryerson University. It got my creative juices flowing again and gives me tons to think about! Thank you for the quick recap and run down, your examples are great and it really makes me remember concepts as you describe them well and relate them to real life situations.

  • hey richardson!

after watching this video, it helped me

remember the 4p's and 6e's alot quicker

it also gave me the introduction that i needed

    to kick off the course

this video along with the others is a great

way of learning and understanding the key concepts

that we will have to go over in mrk200

    thanks!

    Eric Contardi from Mrk 200

  • Thnx Eric - we'll be doing more like this for MRK200

  • Wa gwan Mr. Richardson,

This video is a great refresher of previous Marketing 106 and Business 106 classes , its also good that you touched up on current world issues that pertain marketing and business. These ten elements are not only the core of marketing but also combine together to create an in depth introduction into marketing 200.

Farhan Suleman and Neshanth Moganamurthy MRK 200-MS

  • Wa Gwan Far and Nesh "...the core of marketing.." , yes yes

  • great video sir I really like this idea I really like that I can play and pause when I'm trying to follow allong and write notes I also like that I can rewind as aposed to asking you to repeat yourself (I know everyone said that) but it is a great feature to these video tutorials

    jeremy fuoco MRK200-MS

  • yes Jeremy, play and pause is helpful - too bad you couldn't do that with profs in real life eh??

  • great video sir I agree with icyyci too I like that I can rewind parts that I missed or even pause and play so I can get certain parts stop to write then continue listening without missing the next parts this is definately going to be a great way to help study

    Jeremy Fuoco MRK200-MS

  • rewinding is good cause sometimes i talk 2 fast - my bad

  • "...watch this video on your own time" true true Timur

  • great way of learning the material once again, brought the 6 environments down to earth with real life examples that helped me understand it better then i did last semester, and the best thing is that it utilized a form of media that students are already plugged into, encouraging the students to watch the videos and actually learn!

    Anil Sukul MRK 200

  • yes, real life is "keeping it real" which is what you have to do, theory is one thing, application is another

  • Its really good one to do revision and to do quick recap for what we have studied during our class. We can see this clips frequently and can help us to understand if we have missed anything and make our knowledge bank stronger than before. 4P's and 6E's video tells us that it is a core of marketing and business.

    Jalpesh Patel- MRK200MS

  • Good points Jalpesh

  • It is a great way to gather what we learn in class and compare with the videos that are made. The video gives you a way of applying the theory of the 4P's and 6E's so you understand the material.

    Mike Schapira - MRK200MS

  • Thanks for noticing Mike

  • It's good for me. It can review the 4P's and 6E's what I have learn in Semester 1. Also, if I forget it later, I can take a lesson from here. It is better than ask you to repeat everytime. At last, this video will be an active lesson when I study at home by self.

    Yan Ring, Wong from MRK200MS

  • "better than ask you to repeat everytime" true true

  • "...better than ask you to repeat everytime", yes, another good aspect

  • this is an interesting way to learn. atleast if i miss something I can rewind rather than ask you to repeat. This lesson seems more of a recap of Bus106's theory to the 6 uncontrollable environments

    Mudar Alharazi from marketing 200

  • "... a recap of Bus106's theory " yes it is, which is necessary to make sure you understand that at the beginning of MRK200

  • "...a recap of Bus106's theory", yes, it is indeed
