XD But this song is especially meaningful because of the character and the story behind that character singing this song... making it an even more perfect song for Susan. O.o; ALthough it also makes it more inspirational since Susan broke a lot of barriers with her amazing voice.
Personally I dont like her voice, but I give her repsect as a singer, and I understand the position she is in at the moment. I cant even imagine the stress and pressure she must feel.

I think that diversity is great but i must say that this are just learned steps and practise ... but Susan has a real talent, couse so many people can't touch other peoples hearts like she did. The U.S has a similar feel good story, Donald Braswell came in 4th on AGT last year. On his first audition he came out in a crumpled business suit and the crowd was mocking him like they did Susan and America was worse, they started booing him, but instead of running off the stage, he kept singing and his voice is a God given gift that turned the crowd around to where they were giving him a standing ovation like they did Susan. Also, I heard somewhere that Susan Boyle was also offered an invitation by the Queen to perform at the Royal Variety Show before the final regardless of whether she won or lost, so the end result is the same, she still gets to perform in front of the Queen anyway.
To all those people who think the Queen would rather see a singer than a dance group, it may be the case but that would undermine the show. If we only gave the Queen what she wanted than we might as well kick off everyone who doesn't sing Opera / Musical-type songs.
Susan Boyle already has a recording contract worth US$12.5M. She'll go on to be a major success if she chooses to be. She will have so much success that losing a talent show will be the least of her worries. Diversity deserved it.

Acceptable shaky start, but amazing, amazing finish.....as good or better than I heard at the Cats stage play......She will only get better and better with experience in front of crowds....I can hardly believe she pulled off this difficult song.

With this type of singing, I suggest the CD be placed on hold. She did not look or sound confident. She started on the wrong foot from the start, missing the very first note, and from there on, the voice was shaky, with bad tone, wrong key, diction, timing, poor breath support, and control. I believe she had rehearsed a lot for this event but with no effect. Now we only have a karaoke bar performance with extreme hype!
Who can honestly say she sings it better than Streisand?
I'm not one to crush dreams, but her first performance was far better than this.
Please please please think for yourself. She deserves as much credit AND criticism as everyone else. She is GOOD, but it's not like we never heard a voice like this before, or that she simply is the best. get real people, it is A MEDIA BUZZ!!!

It's a pity she didn't win, however on the other side of things, it's probably better that she didn't since she obviously couldn't take the enormous amount of attention her first performance had got her. Second place is satisfactory. It's still good enough to lay down the ground work for a professional career.

Not as Good? ...Susan knew this time the whole world was watching her..Nerves took hold those first few notes..But instead of blowing it as most would she reached for her diaphragm centered herself and she was back in seconds . She knew it too ...as her little smile came back ....and she was in her element again. Amazing what a professional stage talent she is..yet self made...amazing. She never picks a easy piece to perform either..she was great ...

Acceptable shaky start, but amazing, amazing finish.....as good or better than I heard at the Cats stage play......She will only get better and better with experience in front of crowds....I can hardly believe she pulled off this difficult song.

With this type of singing, I suggest the CD be placed on hold. She did not look or sound confident. She started on the wrong foot from the start, missing the very first note, and from there on, the voice was shaky, with bad tone, wrong key, diction, timing, poor breath support, and control. I believe she had rehearsed a lot for this event but with no effect. Now we only have a karaoke bar performance with extreme hype!
