I personally loved the quiet moments in the film. Really added to the mood and whenever something intense did happen it made it feel 10x more insane. For me this film was perfect.

first things first, everyone go see 'warrior'. regardless of the cheesy poster and title, it is the best film in years. as for 'drive', this has to be one of the most overrated films in years. i am a 'moments' guy, as opposed to a fan of a 'story' , but although the acting, dialogue and situational moments were stylish, they rang false and lacked intelligence. but as for story, there was so much coincidence and lack of momentum and phoniness, it left the whole film empty. i'll never get it.
This film was amazing. It reminded me of the low key suspense films of the late 60's (Bullitt, Le Samourai etc.)
It's getting a lot of shit from people out of the short attention span, CGI shitfest generation.
They see a car in the trailer, they want Fast And The Furious.
Kind of like how stupid people expected a P.T Anderson movie about the oil industry to be an action thriller just because it had the word "blood" in the title
There were so many awkward quiet moments in this movie, it was simply ridiculous. I tried to like the movie but I just couldn't stand it. If you took all of the silent standstill footage and it put it all together, it would probably last 25-30 minutes or so. 100% honest...
WARNING: Don't believe all the positive feedback. This director is NO Quentin Tarantino. The long moments of silence were boring, the poor choice of camera angles took away then excitement from the car chase scenes among other disappointing moments. I don't see how some people consider it "artistic." The main actor only has 2 facial expressions the entire movie and he looks like the creepy version of christian bale from the new batman movies. it was a good movie, a little overrated, but still a great movie. Only complaint I have about it is that it was a little slow in the beginning and is really not for everybody. If you mostly like fast paced, heavy action, easy to follow hollywood movies, Drive is NOT for you.

Great movie artistically speaking, it had a different feeling to it with the modern day 80's soundtrack feel, and the way it moved scene to scene, but story wise could have been a lot better.

I'm usually disgusted with artsy movies that are artsy for the sake of swaying my/anyone's beliefs, but I just got done watching it and as far as I can tell, it was done in a manner that attempts to tell the story thoroughly. So that's a little more respectable. As for the feeling that the cinematography and all the shot angles it was attempting to deliver, I've seen it done before in other artsy movies. I still enjoyed it.

it was a good movie, a little overrated, but still a great movie. Only complaint I have about it is that it was a little slow in the beginning and is really not for everybody. If you mostly like fast paced, heavy action, easy to follow hollywood movies, Drive is NOT for you.

I'm usually disgusted with artsy movies that are artsy for the sake of swaying my/anyone's beliefs, but I just got done watching it and as far as I can tell, it was done in a manner that attempts to tell the story thoroughly. So that's a little more respectable. As for the feeling that the cinematography and all the shot angles it was attempting to deliver, I've seen it done before in other artsy movies. I still enjoyed it.
