Alex Song has much HUGE improvements over the past 5 years.. every season he just keeps getting better and better.. he's matured into one of the best defensive mids in the game with his hard tackling, strength..good in the air.. good passing.. just what you need at def mid.. just what Arsenal have been missing since Vieira left.. he had his critics for a while but has won them over with his consistent good performances of the past 2 seasons

Well, as someone who's been to both the 3-1 losses to Man Utd (and stayed right until the end in both of them btw), I'm certainly not arguing that those performances were both worrying and dissapointing. However, some of the things you said are just idiotic - Alex Song's been our most consistent player this season and has filled the gaping hole in defensive midfield. Denilson, while he WAS shit on Sunday, has also been very impressive this season and is certainly 'good enough'.
Also, you clearly don't realise how fortunate we are to have someone like Arsene Wenger as manager. Tbh to even be near to the Man Utd and Chelsea is quite an achievement, when you consider the differences in financial power. Chelsea basically have a bottomless pit of money, while Man Utd have managed to accrue a debt of £700m, which will hugely weigh them down in the future. Meanwhile, Arsene's kept us at a similar level to those two, while on a comparatively shoestring budget.

As for Diarra, it's been well documented that he was causing a lot of dressing room unrest and wasn't a first-choice at the time, so his sale for £10m was certainly justified.

1) Song is the most vital player of this team. Even more important the Fabregas and he has proven his worth. Our defense just CRUMBLES without Song and Vermaelen. They are our backbone.

I still think Song needs to become our midfield enforcer he can intercept the ball and make good tackles but he's still not mean.
You dont see meanness in his eyes and that's what I think he needs to improve upon. If he can become more like Roy Keane or Materazzi or VIEIRA and make sure that other teams stay in check then we can really go for the kill in England and in Europe.
But he's still 22 so still a lot of time left

Me too back then I saw Song and didn't see why Wenger rated him high. But now man having song in our first team is a must! He can calm things down he has great ball control. he can play aggressive when needed. Him Diaby and Fabregas can control the mid three legends in the making. essien's a defensive midfielder by trade, but the way he plays is a lot more attacking, and plays all over the midfield in all honesty doing both the attacking and defensive sides of the game using his power and stamina. in terms of players who are gonna sit in front of the defence, song was the best in the league last year, and his temperament makes him far superior to mascherano.

Well, as someone who's been to both the 3-1 losses to Man Utd (and stayed right until the end in both of them btw), I'm certainly not arguing that those performances were both worrying and dissapointing. However, some of the things you said are just idiotic - Alex Song's been our most consistent player this season and has filled the gaping hole in defensive midfield. Denilson, while he WAS shit on Sunday, has also been very impressive this season and is certainly 'good enough'.

Also, you clearly don't realise how fortunate we are to have someone like Arsene Wenger as manager. Tbh to even be near to the Man Utd and Chelsea is quite an achievement, when you consider the differences in financial power. Chelsea basically have a bottomless pit of money, while Man Utd have managed to accrue a debt of £700m, which will hugely weigh them down in the future. Well, tbh we do have the small matter of a £300m stadium loan to pay off, so we have hardly any, if any, money as it is. I would have liked to have a keeper like Shay Given too, but atm Wenger knows he should only buy players when completely necessary and, at that moment, he probably felt it wasn't 100% necessary.
As for Diarra, it's been well documented that he was causing a lot of dressing room unrest and wasn't a first-choice at the time, so his sale for £10m was certainly justified.

well mate im a realist and i dont trust a few players in that team and i dont know about u but it really annoys me when after a defeat wenger still comes out with the excuse that we are still young.come off it. we have been young for about 4 years now.
