If you are in a highly populated with yellow cab area like Times Square for instance. If you watch closely, you will see the NYC Taxi variant with the T800456C plate. I know, because it is my duty to check license plates. About 2500 a day, and about 4,500 if it's an OT tour.

There's a new version of this (still a crown vic) driving around in my neighborhood (Bay Ridge, 68pct). I'm not sure if it's attached to any special unit since there aren't many yellow cabs around here. It has an all LED/strobe lighting package and its plates don't match its cab # up top. The yellow lights on the cab "off/on duty" sign strobe when lights are on. It's pretty easy to spot it though as it is too clean and new for a real cab. Plus, its plates don't match.

Sorry but UNTRUE afcgeo, pardon my saying so. I will explain. The plates on REAL NYC cabs are SOMETIMES long too & dont match. Its unusual but it IS on SOME of the cabs. The "CRIME CABS" (Anti-Crime pct based cab decoys) have long plates because the expansion of the NYC taxi fleet TLC is running out of the 4Y45A based plates that the cops used to get so they register NYPD @ DMV with OML reg & T454825C based plates which are vast in amount. ALL NYC cabs must be CLEAN or ticketed by TLC police.

I can tell you wont pass the psych exam, cuz theyre gonna think youre BOTZO for leavin the FDNY to NYPD unless youve got more than 5 years on. I dont know if anyone has told you but transit is the NEW MIDTOWN SOUTH/ ESU unless you want somethin like the 30 or out in FAR ROCK. The NYPD uses many unmarked vehicles for under cover operations.. in your video this Taxi Cab is just one of hundreds in use that the NYPD uses to "Blend" into the area. Normal Unmaked cars are so obvious to spot. Taxi Cabs being used for unmarked vehicles have been around for over 30 years.. if not more..
