  • Why are people just such pussies!? If people want to go to war with you, you can't ignore that, you go to war with them. Its as if someone was intended on fighting you but you weren't, he will beat the shit out of you unless you fight back.

  • Dinesh, you are a fool.

  • why do you say that ?

  • Because he bables on like a preacher. And never makes a valid point.

  • Do yuo agree with the veteran then ?

  • I disagree with Disouzas endorsement of a war on a country that never harmed us.

Dinesh tries to justify this with religion.

It takes religion to make people stupid enough to buy his line of bullshit.

  • you know so little.

  • A genius, compared to you.

  • Clean up the sound

  • so... the bible is not something we should take literally???? Especially in the context of modernity????!! Dinesh borders on arguing for a secular view.

  • They certainly did stop hurting Jesus, so Jesus wasn't saying do this as all violence will end.

Jesus was saying, "When persecuted for my sake turn the other cheek" not "If one like Hitler or if Muslims attack run for the hills for there will be no defense allowed."

Turn the other cheek is share in His glory in suffering for your faith not a nation.

Or to quote "End of the Spear" the sons says of his father "No one took my father's life ... he gave it."

    His father being a missionary.

  • these tools below call the guy a coward making a mockery of their religion or makes xtianity look pathetic. Well...IT IS PATHETIC and deserving of mockery. It just shows how contradictory and nonsensical and man made it is. You can spin anything said in the bible to suit your needs or manipulate and control others. It doesn't mean this....what it REALLY means is this. What a load of bullshit that only stupid people buy into.

  • This coward makes a mockery of my religion.

  • I wish I could get sound on the video...I can't hear a thing!

  • I agree with dinesh d'souza

  • This fuck idiot making the case for literal words of Jesus to justify his cowardice. If you really wanted to follow the literal words of Jesus, you would have to puck your eyes out when you saw a beautiful woman! You would have to cut off your hands when you sinned with them! This faggot doesn't do that does he? He only picks the versus that justify his cowardice! As a vet of Iraq and Afgan I'm glad this coward is not in the military anymore. Who wants a twat like him watching your 6!?!?!

  • What did you think of D'Souza in this ?

  • This is not D'Souza's finest performance IMO. However, the substance of his argument is 100% true. I think he became uncomfortable because he is a conservative guy and they generally like to praise and show respect to vets and since this guy claims to have been a vet D'Souza was in an awkward position. I think that is way he did not perform to his normal standard here. But honestly besides superficial performance issues his logic is spot on.

  • your silly

  • You sound like the "coward" to me. An ignorant and delusional one at that.

Anybody that thinks Desouza is "spot on" has to be a little slow.

  • Are you willing to issue a publication as a rebuttal to what D'Souza argues? He has also written about race, higher education, politics, cultural issues, terrorism and America.

Atheist Richard Dawkins, author of "The God Delusion," refuses to debate D'Souza.

    Who is the coward?

P.S. - You said "Anybody that thinks Desouza is "spot on" has to be a little slow." You spelled his name wrong. You are the one that is slow. *wink*

  • Are you serious?! Dsnouza got owned by that vet stating the obvious hypocrisy in Dinesh's "argument". He has been beaten in every debate by everyone from Hitchens to Dan Barker. His whiney voice and constant eye glass flicking make him a sad figure searching for validation.

  • Comment removed

  • @judoyodan you're an idiot.

  • @Royak, how would YOU know?

  • This fucking supposed vet makes Christianity look so pathetic. He's a gutless pussy and he warps Christian teachings to try and justify his cowardice. Jesus told the disciples to sell their cloaks and buy swords, He obviously says the their is a time to fight by doing so. But who cares real soldiers don't want a pussy like him with them anyway. We don't need faggots like that in the 82nd Airborne. Just stop trying to use Christ's words to justify your callow hippy bullshit.

  • D'Souza, in discussing how we should understand Christ's teaching about turning the other cheek, concludes that "right away, we have to apply this in a discriminative way".

This is very interesting to me, and initially it seems convincing. I would like to go back and look at the source he is citing, Augustine.

  • Interesting that this has turned into ad hominem.

Frankly, I'm surprised it's turned on Dinesh though!

    Revealing. Very revealing.

If something is not falsifiable, it makes science uneasy in that area, because that directly translates to possibility. I completely understand the ad hominem.

  • LOL - a Hindu preaching Christianity to Christians. Dinesh, you sell out. You didn't have to convert just because you live in this country now.

  • A "Hindu" is a person practicing Hinduism in which Dinesh is not. Christianity is not confined to America nutjob, it's universal.

  • The term "Hindu" was actually coined by the westerners. Mainly to define people of the Indus River Valley region and for the purpose of their comprehention of these people and their way of life ...so, yeah Hinduism is really a western label for our way of life. In otherwords, DINESH IS JUST A JESUS WORSHIPING HINDU.

  • I know exactly what you meant, don't get cute with me. Many people like yourself today call people from India "Hindu" for slang, don't try and pretend as if your some kind of historian. You meant it as a pejorative, and your original comment bares this out.

  • Guilty as charged sir...it's just that these Jesus worshiping Hindu's annoy me. Dinesh is such a smart Hindu. Yet tragically, he has to go back in time for about 2000 years and reduce his mind to the level of prehistoric westerners, to believe and preach modern day Christianity. So sad. We can learn a lot by observing cultures that has survived for thousands of years. They didn't survive by bombing fellow human beings, by eating fellow creatures...they survived by being one with the world.

  • babaprad, it's nice to see you have a measure of honesty in you however, what would bother you about anyone worshipping Jesus? Do you have the spirit of antichrist? This whole business of "being one with the world" new age cultist trash, is something your free to exercise, but don't hate those that choose to follow the greatest person to ever exist in human history. So while you worship created things in vain, we shall worship the creator for forgiving our sins, and granting us eternal life.

  • Being one with the world is a "New age cultist trash"...lol. Yeah, being religious for guilt(sin) and greed(heaven) is the way to go buddy. Good for you.

  • So, the word of God comes to us by 4 gospel writers. Couldn't God find a better way to reveal the book. Come on, didn't he create the whole universe and all living beings on Earth? So, he is incredibly "intelligent" to design the whole universe but so dumb to present the scripture(kids even question it for fuck's sake) to mankind.

  • He was speaking to the narrative accounts of the life of Jesus as written by 4 gospel writers. 4 books of the 66 books of the Bible.

The answer to your inquiry (however disingenuous it may be) involves God limiting his ability so as to not infringe upon our free will.

  • Juyanik the reason why it isnt so clear is because it was written so long ago and they used different terms you have to read the Bible study and learn the facts and not just read and o ya this means this and that means that cuz if it did what would be the point in reading it and learning the understandings of it

  • What a fuckwit this D'Souza is. I mean he will basically say that what you see as white is actually black. What a cock head.

  • A very satisfying display of intellect once again by Dinesh. This shows what a free mind based on sound philosophy is capable of.

The misguided vet shows his unsound philosophy when he brings up Israel's role in the conflict- tipping his liberal hand.

  • Imperialism in Iraq is not a just war. The war is not even being waged against a state leader it is waged against a civilian population indiscriminately and because the puppet regime is dependent on a foreign occupier it is authoritarian in nature

  • Thankfully we are not imposing imperialism in Iraq. We are fighting for a free secular democracy run by Iraqis.

  • Via a military occupation run by policy-makers in Washington DC that nearly every Iraqi opposes and that has resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths and a violation of nearly every principle of liberal democracy. Even the best intentions do not justify the means.

  • If you aren't happy with the occupation, well then of course you can argue against it. It is incorrect to call it imperialism though.

Also, I don't believe that military operations run by washington are intrinsically wrong. It seems like you are suggesting that, but you can correct me if i'm wrong.

  • I do not think military operations run by Washington are wrong so long as they are actually in the interests of national defense. The concept of "freeing" another country by bombing and occupying them and negating the principles of self-defense and democracy is aggressive and therefore inappropriate.

I am calling it imperialistic because the the use of Iraq's natural resources not by private companies but by companies awarded no-bids contracts amounts to mercantilism, basically.

  • Don't give me that crap. We're there because Bush is an idiot.

YOU COME TO MY HOUSE AND KICK IN MY DOOR AND TRY TO TELL ME WHO RUNS IT AND HOW TO RUN IT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. That's right, you'd get brushed, rolled out, left at the curb in pieces. You run your house I'll run mine.

  • If have evidence that from your house you are hiding gangsters, terrorists, assasins... as well as planning attacks on neighboring states, and engaging with my enemies that are planning attacks on my house and my friends, not to mention you are beating and killing your own children and tennants of your own house, well then you'd better believe that i am going to kick in your door.

  • Wait...are you talking about Afganistan or Iraq? Sounds like you are just confused as our commander in Cheif about which country to go after. Not to mention, these gangsters, terrorists and assasins were hired, trained and motivated to defend their land against our enemy Russia at point in time. IT'S OUR MEDLING WITH THEIR INTERNAL AFFAIRS BRO - THAT'S WHY THE WORLD HATES US. If you are right, we should be in so many other people's homes, especially in Africa. We are in the middle east for OIL.

  • To clear up your confusion, every analogy I made is about Iraq.

Iraq is not an issue of us suddenly meddling in foreign affairs. We've been meddling with Iraq ever since the 80s, and finally we are on the RIGHT side.

  • "Right side"-Yeah, "Lets stay the course", "we are fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here", "Al Qaida will win if we set a time table for a withdrawl", "The world is a better place with out Saddam", "the insurgency is working", "9/11 changed everything", "hee has WMDs". You have to be a 3 year old to believe people of power in this country. It's always been about securing the supply of natural resources - a neo-colonization notion. O.I.L - Operation Iraqi Liberation.

  • You're not arguing fact!

Iraq was ONLY invaded because of "evidence of WMD" NOTHING ELSE. In fact, USA would be a pile of rubble as the international community would have squashed Bush if he invaded for ANY other reason.

  • Are you so dillusional? You really think America will be attacked by the "international community". US are bullies who push thier will on soviergn countries on the daily, and they will never face reprecussions. Such as Israel violating more UN regulations than all other countries combined? And what actions have been made against them?

  • Nothing else? That's not true. You can easily argue WMD was the tipping point issue for most people's support, but it was hardly the only reason to remove saddam.

  • .........and only by turning the other cheek do we live well.

  • "you have everything to lose" dinesh says.

well, if you turn the other cheek, and it results in your death, you actually have everything to gain - the kingdom of heaven.

that's why jesus says turn the other cheek; not only, as the guy says, because it takes more courage to stand your ground and force your attacker to confront his actions, but because this life means nothing compared to the afterlife, if this life is lived well.

  • Actually the second invasion of Iraq was originally called Operation Iraqi Liberation (OIL) but was changed to Operation Iraqi Freedom when reporters pointed out the obvious implications that those in the Bush regime thought we were to stupid to figure out.Iragis are still being oppressed only now it's the US doing the oppressing and controlling the oil. Sadly, not much has changed for the average Iraqi.

  • "These are human beings ..."

Human beings who were being oppressed by Saddam Hussein. Pacifists don't realize that the only thing men like that understand is force. The UN -did- bring the pressure of public opinion on him, which implied a message of "this is wrong and inhuman," and the oppression continued.

Hence, the international police force operation called Desert Storm II.
