  • I love the look of that Alpine.

  • Renault Laguna is a good car

  • France can make everything she wants.

If French manufacturers decide to not produce Supercars, it's not about technical limitations, but marketing politics.

  • well im polish but my grandpa used to have a citroen ax it was fantastice!!!

  • i dont get it, in 1992 he was saying that alpine A610 is best sport car on market, now its worst aport car ever build i dont get it.

  • I think he should get a braintumor for doing such a thing to that car

  • what episode is this??

  • i hate top gear he talk shit of french car

    FUCK OFF

  • the alpines performance doesn't sound too bad. 5.7 seconds is still quicker than most of todays hot hatches.

  • I HAVE Renault 9 TD which is a french car right?it's a beautiful,comfortable car.it isn't true that french cars aren't good

  • This is what happens with ANY car when you are a very bad "droïver" !!!!

A good example of french bashing indeed, but you should remember that there's NO MORE car industry left in UK - which is not the case in France...Only the Brits think that Vauxhall is a British car.... Everyone else know Vauxhall are actually made by Opel, with a Vauxhall brand stuck on it. The sticker is the only part the British are still able to produce.

  • Clarkson reviewed the Renault GTS Alpina and HE LOVED it feckin hipocrite, search on youtube ' Old Top Gear 1992 - Renault A610 & Venturi '

  • Comment removed

  • Well you're partly correct. The Veyron is assembled in france, but not made. Bugatti was once a french brand, but that ended in the 50's when VW bought it. So to answer your question, its a german car that is assembled in france. Not made.

  • @vwbigchris if a car is engineered in a different country and made/put together in another country, it MUST be recorded in the other country...its like a birth certificate regardless of whether its 100% geman..

  • look at the wipers on that A610...and i thought benzes' uniblades were distracting

  • btw Bugatti is a french carmaker based in molsheim, Alsace

  • Gt by citroen

    Peugeot 907

    Renault Dezir

this is what France can do when they want to do supercars.

it's just that French manufacturers are not interested with expensive cars productions.

this is not a matter of Know-how but just marketing.

  • @samados96 peugeot pulled out of here in 1991 and haven't come back, go figure..

  • @samados96 no, my brother had a new 405 in 1989, not only was it ugly, it had a stream of repair bills because nothing worked right and one day a malfunction with the brakes nearly killed him

  • Comment removed

  • I personnaly hope it will be a very reliable one with no flame behind at high speed.

  • In a bit more than 24hours, a french supercar of about 1100kg and more than 1000hp will be presented. Then we'll see the shape and technical aspects before any comment.

  • Isn't a Bugatti sort of french

  • Fucking rosbeef now we have the Bugatti...

  • @bob333336 lamborghini is german too ?

    jaguar is indian ?

and you think there is only german people built AUDI BMW and VW

bugatti is french thats all, ingeniering is help by german, and it's buy by german, so it's a french car

  • @mickeilkeil Lamborghini's are German, they're Audi's under the skin, with an Italian engine and designer for the rest. Bugatti is an over grown VW bug, looks like a bar of soap, and given the fact that the McLaren F1 does nearly the same thing with 1/2 the power is frankly sad.

  • @bob333336

    Mclaren F1 0 to 100 km/h in 3,5 s

    veyron 0 to 100 km/h in 2,5 s

you found it's the same ?

    and you think 386,7 km/h and 407 km/h is the same ...

    think you need 110 000 bhp to go at 1200 km/h ... 110 X veyron just for 3 X more faster ... it's better with 2CV

    learn physique

  • @mickeilkeil Not talking about 0-60, those times for the Bugatti are due to the AWD system. If a car has 4,000lbs on the wheels, a massive 8L quad turbo W16 in the middle, and 1000hp to all four wheel, it damn well better have a quick 0-60. The top speed of the Mclaren F1 is 391km/h, the Veryon (not Supersport) is 407km/h. Sorry but given the ~400HP difference that's nothing. Give the McLaren 400 more horsepower and it'd fly. Hell Veryons loose to 1000HP R34 Skylines drag racing...

  • @mickeilkeil The engine is based off of two VW VR design engines (very narrow), the mechanics are all done by the Germans. A French did the styling. At the end of the day, it's a German car. Bugatti is no longer the Bugatti it was, the name is the only thing that remains.

  • The accident with a610 was fake!!!! Look when the car "flew" she was empty. :)

  • This video is some of the most provocative television clip that have EVER encountered! It is not true that A610 is a bad super car, it is fucking awesome, so stfu Jeremy you incompetent piece of shit. Why did you crash that beautiful beautiful car? You're one of the biggest douches, if you don't care for a Alpine A610 Turbo and think that 5.7 sec is slow for a car from 1986.

I am never gonna watch "Top Gear" again. What a shitty show.

  • 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds is pretty goddamn fast for a 250 hp car!

  • Only the Bugatti is built by ze Germans

  • I like how geremy talk at 1:20 it's the way he talked in another top gear video saying " oh you cold do that if you had a ferrari " can any body help me finding that video and thanks ;)

  • hahahahhahahha!!! LOL

  • don't forget bugatti !

  • french cars suck

  • @LordSulkine

Lol, come here to try one and it'll changed your mind ;D

  • Comment removed

  • Great video. I loved that guy until he destroyed an ALPINE A610.

Anyway, at that time I mean 1991 that fucking french car with 250 horsepower was FASTER than a LOTUS ESPRIT TURBO SE with 264 horsepower and FASTER than a Porsche 911 carrera 2 that both were a lot more expensive !

Next time you buy an Alpine, let the wheeler dealers Mike and Edd have an eye on it you freshman ;-)

  • I m french car lover ! Perfectly built for handling! No one can beat it! I m proud of u Citroen !!!!

  • @elsonlks what citroen are you on about ride quallity yes but handling

  • @elsonlks you do notice h is on the tract still handles better that the 150mph vectra he tested

  • @elsonlks japanese technology can beat you!

  • @carloextreme Japanese technology is dull. It lacks the soul and the passion of Europe.

  • i'd rather walk 1000 miles on foot than drive it in an unreliable french car-- if i did choose to drive one i would probably have to walk the rest of the 999 miles anyways

  • Comment removed

  • The great britons have no car industry and they talk loool

Go suck TATA ou FORD's knob and leave the french alone, you fucking arrogant tossers

  • VIVE LA FRANCE FUCK ANGLO-SAXONS loool

  • france make very ugly unreliable cars

  • I do agree, I actually had that same conversation with a French. But they forgot the amazing Renault Alpine!

  • Another exemple of pathetic french bashing...

  • @roboronan Don't worry about the Top Gear guys bashing the French, they bash everything that isn't British or German. According to them the rest of the world still lives like savages.

  • @sandrodream1 french are cars useless (peugeot especially) don't ever buy one, lucky for me they haven't sold them here since the 1990s because

    a/ they cannot compete

b/ not pass crash or emission tests

c/ they are ugly as shit

    stay away !!

  • 5.7 seconds to 60mph was faster than most ferrari and lambos at the time

  • @tommyboomboom Exactly!

  • IT was on purpose, cuz he is a fucking asshole.

  • well the rolls royce is owned by the bmw, so is it german?

  • i think their best ever mid engine car was the citroen DS. Or the SM (fastest FWD car of its age)

  • bugatty atlantic , 'nuff said

  • he wasnt inside!

  • actually the veyron was built in germany by Volkswagen

  • @Sasori327

Wrong actually the Veyron was built in France .

  • @jeffkodiac Yeah now you mention it...Veyron does sound like a French name. The French probably don't see a market for yet another super car so why bother?

  • @TheARMAProductions

in fact Bugatti is a French brand unfortunately owned by VW .

  • @jeffkodiac Damn Germans own all the bloody cars mate lol. They own a few of ours too. The UK swapped allot of it's car industry with germans weapon industry after WW2. We only make a few sports cars these days really. Anything else is shite and not worth buying

  • @TheARMAProductions Germany just pays for it, it's still the French and the British and all the rest of them that actually make the cars. You want a German supercar, suss out a Gumpert.

  • @Sasori327 abd lambo by audi

  • @Sasori327 where is molsheim ??? mmm ... IN france

  • @mickeilkeil yes but it was built by germans

  • MISATO!

  • french manufacturers have always in mind that a successful car is a car sold to a maximum of people, they maybe are rubish for some but look at the sales figures and benefits worldwide, specially if you compare with british car industry wich mostly belongs to foreigners

  • does it have a white flag attachment instead of an antenna?

  • @schablone35 It also goes faster in reverse than driving forward :D

  • @distantkilljoy of course^^

  • lol he complains about cornering, then drives a Bugatti.

  • The English are funny with their arrogance because at the end of the day the French have always a powerfull car industry which is not the case of the English .

  • i hate french cars!

  • You dont need a c6 or a c5 or even the hidractive suspension not to speak in the activa.

I have a standard hydroneumatic suspension and boy that thing can go arround corners faster than some germans=)

my car is a citroen xantia estate... love it... jeremy clarkson likes the c6 and the french cars he just critics them for the show he criticas also lancia and jaguar and others but he likes them...

  • CITROEN is the best in handling ! Buy a C6 Hydractive or a C5 hydractive, and it's more solid than other stupid cars ... Don't say not to buy a french car stupid guy ! Try it and shut up !

  • hello, what thinks jeremy Clarkson about citroen C6 and alpine please ( all french car ^^ ) ? I'm french and i don't understend. Thanks all.

  • wonder which hurt more that or when the gear lever went up his ass in the laurie

  • fake colision 4:49 he is not inside the car

  • @marceloweckerle ORLY? ¬¬

  • @CARRITOLOCO2 have a barbie doll inside!!

the car went straight all the time.

  • song name starting at 1:03, god PLEASE.

  • I love French cars. That said, they are complete garbage, and I love them anyway.

  • So one good supercar from France. That says a lot.

  • Super FILS DE P*** !!!

  • His accent is marvellous, sounds so real you'd think he's half-french!

  • -_- he crash a alpine ... i cry ...

so the french don't do super car (exept bugatty and ventury) but they do some of the best car for all people ... citroen : best suspention, renault frist 5 star at euroncat ...

  • @mickeilkeil citroen: best suspension? are you kidding me? here in holland all citroen c3( i think) were called back by companies because the suspension could just break for no reason...... i'm not saying french cars are bad but i just wanted to say that i do not agree with THAT part.....

  • @niekaalderink1996 i speak about suspension on DS, BX, XM, Xantia, xara, C5, C6 ... about hydro-pneumatics suspension, it's the best suspension on the world. on C3 it's traditional suspension, and ok they are big problem on it. (problem of corrode on the spring i think)

  • @mickeilkeil yeah ok, i just wanted to tell you :D

  • @mickeilkeil citroen suspension is good - as long as it works and renaults are good in crashs - as long as the conditions in an actual crash are identical to that in the ncap test

  • @Luke1337 ... sure for the suspension of the citroen ... so most of time it work 15 years ... not bad ... and for the renault ... i am totaly not ok ... search the video "Fifth Gear laguna crash test" ... sure you can dead in a 5 start car but you have more chance to be alive ... and this laguna have ESP all time

  • @mickeilkeil bugatti is no longer french, its heritage may be but the car is not french built

  • @ducatiracing It's heritage is Italian-French-German (Ettore Bugatti was Italian-French, and Molsheim was a German town back then), it's engineering, design, and ownership is German (Volkswagen), but it is still technically French; because it's built (not assembled, built) in France.

  • @a7jamali its using german technology, not one bit of french technology or skill was used in that w16 quad turbo engine. nor the design of the body in windtunnels, therefore i believe the car should not be considered a french car. just my opinion though

  • @a7jamali does that mean Renault F1 cars are British?

  • @tommyboomboom A huge part of it is -- Renault is just the engine supplier now; Genii Capital (Luxembourg) owns 75%; and Lotus owns 25% of that team and they operate it out of Oxforshire. Renault builds the engines in Viry-Châtillon and send them to Oxfordshire where it is mated with the chassis that Lotus designs and builds. This facility in Enstone is also their official HQ.

  • @a7jamali I still love french cars though. I miss my 205 GTi every day!

  • @tommyboomboom Yea, the 205 is an icon.

  • @mickeilkeil bugatti is owned by VW (germany) now, and hes talking about cars that are ON SALE NOW. but i know what youre saying

  • @mickeilkeil What? Bugatti is French? It's an Italian company, owned by Audi, which is German. Don't talk rubbish here, you French frog!

  • @vitormangraviti bugatti is more french than porsche is deuch ...

"Ettore Arco Isidoro Bugatti was an Italian-born and French naturalized citizen"

"Ferdinand Porsche was an Austrian automotive engineer"

all bugatti are build in france in Molsheim, by a french, italian born but a french ... learn your leson before show your stupidity

  • @mickeilkeil Yeah... You are right. Anyone naturalized is a native. Exactly like people from Hawaii. They are "Americans". And Isidoro Bugatti is a very French name. It's more French than Jean Pierre or Ferdinand. When I see a frenchman saying such a load of shit I feel sorry that England didn't let Hitler kill you all. The world does not need this stupid people called "French".

  • @vitormangraviti

    @vitormangraviti

And I feel very sorry for England, which is a great country, that people like you bring this kind of heinous and pointless considerations on public boards under it's flag.

I can just imagine how frustrating life you might have up there to show publicly such a pathetic aspect of your miserable person.

  • @vitormangraviti

You just don't want to admit the fact. the company was french and never been italian. NEVER. the classic bugatti like the atlantic are French cars. You are racist. Today a classic French Bugatti cost double the price of a Ferrari. Even a Bugatti rotten found in a bottom af a lake cost more than a good condition ferrari. Bugatti is a legend above other brands and it is French. End of the discussion.

  • @mickeilkeil It may be a french name, but the engine is german, the chassis is german, the body is german, the interior is german... what's left? the badge...

  • @2491cc nobody say lamborgini is german ... so it's exacly the same thing

  • @mickeilkeil I say Lamborghini is German AND Italian. The Italians have more input on the Lamborghinis than the French do on the Veyron.

  • @vitormangraviti All it takes is a 5 second google search to see that Bugatti is a French company, and is owned by Volkswagen.

  • @vitormangraviti

Do your research before talking shit, The company was created in france, the inboard instruments are all in French (in classic cars of course) and the cars were all made in france untill it was bought by WV. BTW Bugatti ceased to be a legendary brand when it was bought by WV, but that is my opinion and porbably the opinion of Bugatti's lovers.

Bugatti is also known for being the company to have created the first super car ever.

  • @mickeilkeil You can claim the Veyron is french all you want, but it's German, no matter what you say.

  • @mickeilkeil You maul english... I cry...

  • @mickeilkeil um bugatti was founded by an italian and has been owned by volkswagen since the early 90's and both the eb110 and the veyron were designed in germany. so from about 1900-1950 you were partially right.

  • @nickrulez809765 bugatti was founded by french who was born in italie ... so you sais bugatti is german ok, so

Bentley, Lamborghini, Seat, Škoda are german

Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, are italian, (and ferrarie and maserati are fiat)

    Rolls-Royce is german

Jaguar and Land Rover are indian

    Volvo is chinees.

and Dacia, Infiniti, Nissan, Renault are from netherlands

  • @mickeilkeil depending on which models you speaking of but for the most part yes

  • Comment removed

  • @cumbas: he founded his company in Germany to be exact

  • Controool oh! Oh my God :))))

  • clarkson you have had a proper wreck ha ha ha

  • French cars are safe, but break easily.

2 years ago we had a 2005 renault laguna and his gear box broke.

And last year we traded the renault for a peugeot 407 and his engine lost his belt 2 times

But french cars aren't the only cars that break easily.

Our Jaguar s-type won't lock the right side doors and the front passenger door window won't open or close. :(

  • What about the Peugeot 907 or the 908 or the 908 Rc? Maybe not too easy to get on the road, but anywayz ;)

  • bugatty veyron is a french super car

  • @Fabiovisentainer Actually Bugatti is a French company, but VW built the veyron.

  • @Fabiovisentainer No. Ettore Bugatti was ITALIAN

  • @1372cc

he was born in Italy but he was FRENCH, a French insdustrial and built his society in France like all others French Automaders

The old original Bugatti automader is well a FRENCH automader and especially not from Italy

The truth is more different of your point of view of nationalist like you see...

  • Comment removed

  • @cumbas The view is one, my friend: his blood was Italian. Italian we are born, there will be. And nothing can come close to an Italian, in the good things and bad ones. It is not nationalism, but realism. ;-)

  • @cumbas

    ???!!!!

Of course the truth is he was a French citizen who founded a French automader in France and made in France since his creation until the decade 1940's pure French sport cars

There is the only truth on the ground and in front of the History of Bugatti

Your strange vision who try to explain that Bugati was an Italian automader just because Bugatti was born in Italy is (I CONFIRM) a phantasm based on lies & an Italian proud nationalism & "communautarism racism"...

  • Comment removed

  • @cumbas Where are you my french frien....I would speak about Amedeo Gordini, or Flaminio Bertoni...the father of the most famous french cars...2cv, DS..traction avant...ami8...The Peugeot like 205 designed by Pininfarina...etc...etc..etc...Please, make baguette...Cool cars its an Italian job

  • @1372cc

Of course Bugatti is an old original French automaders who made and buy its cars "in & from" France and not Italy... ("Wikipedia" for exemple is your friend ^^)

So, I like also the Italian Super Sport cars sure, BUT that I know also perfectly is that since the beggining of the cars Industry in the 20th century, France & the French Automaders dont have any lessons to receive by any countries, in the past, in the present and for the future

  • @cumbas Do you read my message ? =) Hehe ... you live in a world parallel to the real

  • @cumbas

    ??

    lol poor little sucker

where are your "italian" designers nowaday ? (and I speak about true from Italy and not from France like Bugatti and the Original Bugatti cars ^^)

    they donc exist quite simply...

& it is sad for me also because I liked the design of any italian cars

After do you want to speak about all the idiot stereotypes about people ?

But the Italian is the people in the world who have the bigger bad stereotypes on them LOL & I dont finish if I speak about that

  • I just can't believe you broke an a610!!!! Shame on you!!!! you are everithing but a pilot!! And think about this: you haven't been hurt cause you were in a french car.

  • @Fernandofrances1

sorry, but do you hoestly think that Jeremy was in the car during the crash?

    come on...

  • your experience not true! just because as i said you are jealous that you can´t make your own, so stop commenting know there no point talking to an idoit.

  • Les français sucent des pénis. XD

  • at 21sec is that a ascari thought that wasnt british

  • @29081977 as a french guy, i've only seen a real bugatti in a Museum. even the newer ones, never seen one on the road. maybe in the richesse parts of France there a few owned by millionaires.

France has produced the famous "traction avant citroen" in the 30's. the french resistance car in the movies. and also a few good citroen designs in the 50's,60's. like the DS but french cars are usually cheaply build and are not that reliable. I quit french cars

  • But Bugatti is french

  • @FlammeHead you don't see any bugatti's on french roads....

  • i wouldn't give a french car to my worst enemy! you can't argue with jeremy clarkson either, he hits the nail right on the head, screw french cars.

  • The Dutch, got Spyker! :D

  • damn that dude is tough as hell!! damn englishmen!

  • @HubertWolfen Face it, every French car ever made. Breaks down very quickly, and probably looks like shit. NEVER, has France produced a reliable car.

  • @besie0 you're right,

i'm french and i love my country buut i don't buy french cars anymore. I prefere german cars.

we are starting to make good cars.

  • @HubertWolfen France has great concept cars every time, but then they screw with the design, engine and electronics and it's a shitty car again!

  • @besie0 you are shitty yourself what does your fucking cuntry make daf had a renault engine because you couldn´t make one just a shitty DAF!! french cars rulles! and topgear is POS not worth looking at.

  • @doromanekia Spyker, i recommend looking for the c8 aileron. Also, DAF's were reliable, and kept running for years without repairs. I know a guy with a french car... The engine fell out while driving, No joke.

  • @besie0 it happens to all cars not only french spyker is shit with audi engine only the body is own, like daf was reliable because of renault engine in it the only thing! but the variomatic was anything but relieble and the later daf made volvos ollso were horrible. you should learn! falling engines i have seen from ford transit and taunus.

  • @doromanekia French cars in the last 30 years have been shit. Before that they were brilliant. I don't know what you guys did wrong there. My dad has a Renault Megane and something breaks every month, usually electronics.

  • @besie0 you are wrong because top gear talks shit about french cars the britts end the french are still at war you see .

  • @doromanekia How could i be wrong with personal experience?

  • @besie0 thankyou for telling the truth, that's what i've been trying to say on this video a few weeks ago.

  • damn that dude is tough as hell!!

  • THeir best ever mid engine car was the venturi lm "400-600"

  • Supercars ? What about Bugatti ? It's french (found by an italian born, ok)

I'm french btw, and I really like german cars

  • Why do people post shit about WW2 conflicts on a fucking top gear episode PEOPLE GET A ROOM

  • Yes, Jeremy actually owned Ventury Atlantic 410hp from 3.0 V6 24V Bi-Turbo engine - I think very rare and good sport-car but again probably not a supercar. Still very good attempt from the French to make sportcar. Also Bugatti was originally established in France and is French mark and automaker. Nowadays its still made in France although its as French as Bently is British (VAG, Germany owned) and Lamborgini is Italian (also VAG, Germany owned). Chill out everybody, live your lives and be cool.

  • I'am always surprised to see a lot of British driving German cars. Are they still fascinated with all this Nazi thing, or do they believe that Aston Martin , Rolls, Jaguar or Bentleys are unreliable crap ?
