  • I like the concept of this video but there's a problem.

Bowie's Rebel Rebel was released circa 1972 and

the movie was made in 1968.

  • @chrisbacos Great film, great song. I see no problem here.

  • with the Bowie song looks more like a British Comedy XD

  • DAVID BOWIE! :D

  • "one man can change the world, with a bullitt in the right place" Lindsay Anderson could do no wrong in that period and as for Malcolm McDowell.....must be one of the greatest actors that the UK ever produced

  • so totally thought for a second that malcolm mcdowell had two right hands at 1:37 :P

  • Was this movie the reason they took out cadet training in Britain?:)

  • Holy SHIT I just realised it's Malcom McDowell!!!

  • wicked home made trailer!"!!!! :D

i spent half an hour looking for the whole film online but i couldn't, can somebody please help me.... i really want to watch it

  • @stupidintellect90 all the parts are up on YouTube.

  • well everyones entitled to there own opinion but I think the films surrealness is what makes it a brilliant edition to British cinema

  • Yearh (: but one of my reasons, is that we saw this film in school, so that we could learn about the english bording schools. But I just think that this has got nothing to do with the "real" english bording schools (:

  • Well I wouldn't know I was went to a state school filled with Hoodies and Blacks, but its somthing similar to what used to happen in Public schools just without the Kids taking up arms

  • Love this trailer.. well done ..

  • Great trailer, well done.

  • this was one of 2Pac's favorite films of all time, i need to check it out

the trailer looks good, looks like a great movie

  • it's the yell that counts

  • really really great trailer!!! 5*, i simply love this movie :) one correction tough, it's not malcolm's first movie, he also starred in poor cow but the scenes in which he appeared had been deleted, god knows why. yeah, it can be considered one of his first movies tough :)

  • this is so good! i love you cos you're english like me. most people on here are american. but a good english trailer is something so treasured. you are great people, really good. should become film directors or whatev xx

  • this is an excellent video, many congratulations.

  • Awesome job with this! :) And an awesome movie too.

  • This is so great! It looks like a real trailer. :) Love that movie.

  • thank you for your trailer in the manner of hollywood

  • SAWEEETTT, well done, the song fits so much, just listen to the title

  • It's the yell that counts

  • i like this trailer and the song never seen the movie few years might check it out

  • Woops, my last comment was in response to an old post stating that the film is the 'cut' version. I bollocksed it up posting.

Anyway, lovely video and adore the music. Great film.

  • Rebel Rebel? Cool. Besides, this movie rocks!

  • A brilliant film

  • This movie is seriously Crazy, even for the British! Christ alone knows what the Amerikanas make of this!! Like Python, It's made by by people who are far superior in both "Class" and intelligence to their contemporary Leaders.

  • I am pretty sure that was a pretty lame insult to "Amerikanas" but I looooove this movie and the cafe sex scene riles me up every time!

  • Oh, I'm Californian born and raised and i get this film 100 percent, but then I've been dying to move to England since i was three!

  • Ahh me too.

  • jolly jolly good ;-)

  • Although this is officially recognised as Malcom Mcdowell's first film, he actually filmed scenes for Ken Loach's "Poor Cow" with Terence Stamp the previous year, but sadly,Mcdowell's scenes were cut from the final print of the film, so he was never seen in it.

  • I'm 57, and this video has taken me back to my old age, so thanks, thanks a lot

  • Its a very good movie, but this DVD from Criterion is the CUT-VERSION of the movie "if..."

  • i know i got it yesterday & i was sad .but anyway i had never seen it before ,i''ve watched it 5 times since i got it!

  • From what I understand, however, the only cut made from the original version is to change the shower scene from showing gratuitous full-frontal nudity to not. Sad for the fangirls among us, yes, but not exactly having much of an effect on the film.

  • "If" is a masterpiece.

  • malcolm IS delicious and always will be

  • He is 64.And still awesome to me.

  • That school is Charterhouse right?

  • No,it is filmed at Cheltenham College who's famous alumni is the Director Linsay Anderson.

  • I remember seeing this at the cinema.

    Great sequence. Ta

  • What's the cinema?

  • Wow, that looks really authentic! Ah, Malcolm was a delicious cookie when he was young!

  • Much appreciated thank-you

  • You're very welcome!

  • Hello Blueneurosis,

I've watched this film about a zillion times, and it was brilliant to see the way you've edited the footage in this trailer! Like the music choice too :-) Thank you very much!

  • what song is that??? please someone reply it wud be much appreciated :)

  • It depends what you mean. :-) The music to this trailer is "Rebel Rebel" by David Bowie; the piece Mick Travis plays in the film is "Sanctus" from the "Missa Luba" by Les Troubadours du Roi Baudouin (a Congolese children's choir.) Make sure to get their version, as there are others too!!

  • i like tigers...

  • You've got me really excited for the DVD now! I stupidly taped over my home recording of this a while ago, I've been in withdrawal ever since!

  • very well done!

  • That was actually really well put together. :)

  • ohh thats so good! you got in all my fave bits!

    "jolly jolly good stephens!"

can't wait for the dvd release!!

  • a criterion release?!?! haven't heard of that; seriously looking forward to it...

  • fuck i've got t see this

  • About time they put this movie on DVD. McDowell rules this film!

  • Fucking love this film! Soooo happy it coming out on DVD yay! hen did they last play it on TV anyway? Ive only seen it once when I was about 12/13 (about 5 years ago) and that was on TV.

  • "you mean that bit of wool on your tit?"

    fantastic.

    x

  • what a great movie.the scene/s(?) where he listens to the african music shows how rebellious he was..i mean instead of rock music or classical he listens to african tribal..i've gotta find that music.
