Actually, this was a highlight scene from a circus show that went wrong.  They were trying to get close enough so that one clown from one heli could jump/climb onto the other one. The dilemma is that it was virtually impossible, but being the clowns that they were, they did it anyway.

They blow away the rotor blades first and then eject the pilots.

Don´t know, if it´s used in any helicopters, though.

Those weren't Arabic pilots/helicopters, they were British. They were participating in a ceremony to celebrate the liberation of Kuwait from the Iraqi occupation in 1991, they got too close and their rotors made contact. A few of the passengers in those helicopters died.
