  • wish ide seen them live . the best band /live band in the world .

  • I was lucky enough to be at Leeds/Elland Road gig (often mentioned by Brian and Roger to be one of their best) and it was incredible. We waited all day in the warm sun, sat through Teardrop, Joan Jett and Heart and then one by one, the massive diamond floodlights went off to the beat of Flash.

The same intro sounded out to an almightly roar from the crowd and then Queen ran on to the stage to The Hero; the loudest noise I have ever heard in my life! Sheer class from start to end - legends!

  • flash is the only song from queen i don't like but i love all the other songs it goes FLASH! OH OH SO STUPID

  • i wish freddie was alive :(

  • It really is no surprise that the best live bands of today (eg the Foo Fighters and Muse) were heavily influenced by Queen with a concert intro like this. Utterly brilliant.

  • i would trade every show i have ever been to just to witness this opening live

  • im pretty sure that the dislike was a mistake !! ... no one can dislike this =)

  • @XxMJJWorldxX hehe.. right ..must have been one of these "provocative dislikes..i´m against everything..

now he has seen that it didn´t work out and nobody not even 1 stupid hater joined him ;) and he regrets it depply today

    hahaha rock on!

  • One dislike.....

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • @Dezono onde dislike to many!!!:P

  • yeahh yeahhh

  • voce fantastica unica

  • Superb. Nothing like it in the world. The band as a whole on their A-game. How brilliant can one person be?

  • I saw Queen live twice in my life with Freddie. In 1977 and 1980. For the 80 show I sat front row center. At the 77 show, a guy sitting next to me was smoking pot the entire show. I asked if i could use his binoculars, he said sure. I watched the entire show as if I was on the stage. For the 80 show where I sat front row, the guy next to me yelled up to Freddie about some Heineken beer on the piano. He came over with the cup, saluted us, drank from it, and then gave it to us. Truly awesome!

  • Thanks so much for uploading this Oberon1966.

  • Most underrated album ever!

  • I dont think any band can touch queen for live performance ,this is awesome

  • Annyira szerettem volna ott lenni a budapesti koncerten,de 6 éves voltam :(

  • @Sundi0

  • he invented rock... Rock In Peace freddie!

  • I always loved the way how Brian enters the stage!

Queen - simply the best band!

  • IMHO miles better than the Wembley concert. The energy is electric and Queen is absolutely at the peak of their game here.

    Long live Freddie Mercury :))

  • Im so jealous of my father, somewhere in the crowd he is standing next to a guy smoking hash and someone drinking wine im coke bottles, unfortunatley i was too young and missed this; he truly watched quite possible the greatest music group in the world live at the bowl. I cant stand to think of a future with the horrible music groups that plague the modern day world. No matter how many times i watch this i badly wish i was there.

  • @TehRedfield wow ur so un lucky

  • @TehRedfield touch your father every day and look into his eyes for he is a human being who saw Freddie in person

  • 5.41 - end Freddie you absolute legend simply the greatest entertainer of all time

    come back please :(

  • what a great opening song " hero" from the film flash gordon

  • The best live band ever! If you were to a Queen show you would never forget it! This is the standard that all live bands should go after!

  • why is freddie rockin the nike shoes? thought he was an adidas kind of guy haha

  • The best ever concert by the best band ever!

  • holy crud, how can u sing when u run around that much

  • @kishypie i dunno... Bruce Dickinson manages it..

  • @j800r axl rose back in the day too

  • @kishypie well you can't, it's just the fact that this is FREDDIE MERCURY! :D

  • there's one borderline....not just borderline, a huge son of a ****

  • Brian May one of the best guitar sounds in music period.

  • fucking amazing intro and full throttle hiting the stage

  • after all these years it still sends me shivers down my spine when you feel how the tension is rising and the audience gets louder and louder until the band starts playing. and it rises more and more and more and when freddie enters the stage everything seems to just explode.

  • @hardynatsch hell yeah it sure does

  • Queen's best concert, in my opinion.

So much energy in the first five minutes alone.

The fast version of We Will Rock You is amazing.

  • @Epson824 Have you seen Queen rock montreal in 1981 (i think), thats great aswell. But infact all Queen concerts are great!

  • @ambie6664 no, they are not. I saw them back in 1982 in Hamburg in the Ernst-Merck-Halle Germany. The venue was halfful of people, and F.M. was on drugs. But It was boring, one of the badest concert I have ever attended.

  • @Guenniistes Well thats what you say. But lets see what the rest of the world says. I would say even the badest concert from Queen would probably equal the same as a good concert now or even better.

  • @ambie6664 hello there, but beleave me; even hardcore fans like you would say that this was very bad; and by the way at that time they very "unpopular" in a sense of old fashioned. Best greetings.

  • @Guenniistes When you say this was bad do you mean Queen live at the Bowl? Do you have any footage of Freddie drugged up in Hamburg when you went to see them?

  • @ambie6664 no, no live in Hamburg; and you wouls agree. F.M. was obvious on drugs, it was a very boring concert. And don´t forget "Queen did some very amazing songs but still a unch of crapy songs. And live it was very boring cause F.M.- couldn´t get through the lod gituar of B.M. still have a fan book of the 1982 "hot space"-tour.

  • @Guenniistes Ok. I tried looking for the concert in Hamburg but couldn't find it :(

  • @ambie6664 The worst one was montreal cas the fuckin crowd sucked they didn't sing they didn't know the words and freddie had to encourage the crowd through words to get them to sing along.

  • @MercuryisFreddie

The thing is, the first night the crowd must be sit on their chair, but the second night no more chair. Love of my life was not a single in america back in the day.

  • @DeStCyr No im not talking about love of my life im talking about the other songs. The point is the crowd were very poor for some reason.

  • @MercuryisFreddie

I told you, Love of My Life was not a single in Canada, and The Game a year before the show...

  • @DeStCyr And because of that reason the crowd sucked??????? No how can you not sing to we are the champions or crazy little thing called love oh and i am not the only one that shares this opinion.

  • @ambie6664 no, they are not. I saw them back in 1982 in Hamburg in the Ernst-Merck-Halle Germany. The venue was halfful of people, and F.M. was on drugs. But It was boring, one of the badest concert I have ever attended.

  • I was at this gig. What a blinding opener..most bands couldn't even play an encore with that amount of energy and Queen are only two songs into the set!

  • They opened concerts with this fast version of "We will rock you" going back to the jazz tour in 78.

  • awesome love it!!!!!!!

    got the dvd here!!!!!!!!!!!

    love the "fast-opening" with

    We will rock YOU (tonight)

    fuckin love that conzert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    thanks for posting that!!!!!!

    greetings!

  • He truly commanded the audience... greatest star that ever lived. He did everything he could to make sure the fans had the most fun they could possibly ever have.

  • En el nombre de Queen Bendigo el ROCK & ROLL!!

  • nice diversion of the word fucking mate

  • i like we will rock you alot better here : D

  • Yes! Somedbody To Love: the best version ever is here!

  • lets post that on every performance shall we... timeless impression he made

  • @emet79

i totally agree...how cool is that?...flying in with the helicopter...."Flash" as a background...growing excitement in the crowd......and then hit them all (nicely and positively) with that powerful rocky start ....!!!!!

  • Pihtija.

  • This is amazing!

  • wud lov of to have been there but was not born until 84 lol

  • makes you look at crapola bands like The Jonas Bros. and Coldplay and U2 filling arenas and go 'wot da fawk?!!? no musicianship and zero charisma and kids eat it up ,,,pathetic music scene,no wonder `I`m still listening to Queen and LedZeppelin and JimiHendrix

  • sorry better start at about 0:45

  • anyone else thinks 0:49 is hot?

Brian May the first person to "drop it like it's hot"

  • @viktoraensland that night? every night bro

  • @viktoraensland And the coolest thing is that he could run around and have fun meanwhile... xD

  • @Pala16123z0r Indeed :)

  • FREDDIE IS SO FUCKING AMAZING

  • este recital no iba a hacerse en wembley? pero debido a la guerra de malvinas y a las intervenciones del curita juan pablo 2do se uso wembley apra una misa que claro, no iba a solucionar esa masacre

  • Worlds most HOT entrance on stage! 0:59 !!!

  • OMF Freddie is so fucking HOT! Wow. What a sexpot!

  • stonetown, zanzibar

  • I saw this live on the Tube and I stiil don't know where Freddie came from, the best performance Queen ever did, what an entrance, what an ad-libber Freddie was, I cried when he died

  • freddie was a god.. rip..

  • this is qual, i live like 400yards away from this, its soo goood, gr8 concerts there!!!!!!

  • i wanna be just like Freddie when i grow up!!!

  • I love How Brian enthusiastically ran out at the beginning ;)

  • Oh yeah, me too. Not very usual.

  • Yeah, he's normally pretty quite

  • the intro chords from may are awesome!

  • GREAT DVD I WATCH IT EVERYDAY

  • Haha. Sunnyside, that's how I am with the Wembley DVD.

  • What a start for a concert...!?!

  • grandissimi ovunque...ma il wembley è un'altra cosa!!!

  • O_O Brian May flies a helicopter?!!

Is there anything that man *can't* do? ;D

  • The Pilot of Helis sits on the right seat...

It would be cool wouldn't it be?

  • Yep, that's why he and Dennis can still sing pretty well.

  • What year is it?

  • 1982

  • Спасибо Большое !)

  • yeah right

  • that was "thanks a lot" in Russian )))

  • Freddie Mercury forever!!!!

    Rip awesome Freddie ( 1945-1991)

Forever in the heart of the music!!!!!1

  • this is how to play live

  • Pretty much the only band out there today who can perform better live than on their albums is Green Day, and even they can't touch prime Queen.

  • Dude, Greenday sucks...

  • what was the fascination with Flash though? That's DCs worst hero.

  • that's flash gordon, not the flash.

  • How come it's light at the start, yet less than a minute later its's dark? Sorry if this has been asked before.

  • It's the effect the brightness of the lights have on the camera - they give the impression that it's darker than it actually is. You see it quite commonly with sports events, when half a football pitch is in bright sun and half is in shade.

I was at Milton Keynes Bowl for this gig. The other bands were Teardrop Explodes, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and Heart.

But this opening section is still one of my favourite, ever.

  • not just on cameras.. on you too lol.. when you're on a stage with a spotlight in your face you see noting around, like if the audience was in the dark

  • i like this version of we will rock you. very cool!

  • ...then, if you havn't got it already, 'live killers' is the cd for you minxess...one of the best queen albums in my opinion, trust me!

  • oh ok thankyou! i will have a look for that!

  • el mejor grupo de la historia , sin duda , el mejor showman del mundo es freddie mercury

  • mi dios!!! freddie te amo y te amaré por siempre!!

  • I have the recording of this concert on my i-pod its one of the best live performances ever its so great to see them playing, I only wish I could have been there! God Rest Freddie he was great.

  • wooooooohoooooooooooooooooooo!!!

  • Best Singer and frontman EVER !!!

  • Absolutely fantastic!! I was there and remember the helicopter coming in before they started. What a great group and a great start to a concert!!!!!!!

  • I wish i could have been there has you have...

  • Every rock god should make entrance on stage like he had! No other group matches their energy! Like in Live Aid, they know how to customise their songs to live performance!!

  • Your right about that 1rendezvous.

The only problem is there was only ever one rock god and he's no longer with us :(

  • Love his clothes btw!! He had a really cool style in clothing:D I was inspired by the lightning on some of his clothes, so now i have plenty of clothes with lightning bolts on themxD

  • Wish I was there^.^

  • The best band in the world played in my home town. What a feeling

  • which is the first song?

can anybody write a list of the songs they played in thsi concert please? thakes!

  • Oberon already has. Look on the "About this video" on more. Oberon has been kind enough to say on his videos.

  • Hi

'Flash' was the first song they performed, as in this clip... I was there :o) I will dig out my program for the concert at some time and let you know the running order if you like. It was the best concert I have ever, ever been to... shame Freddie is no longer with us o(

  • And I just realized something that has always got me, as a none smoking health freak..Freddie Mercury was a fucking chain smoker??? Always a butt in his hand..you could see him having a drag sometimes off stage he he

He ran up and down that stage for over 2 hours like a marathon runner...If he had survived AIDS he would have been a GREAT advert FOR smoking LMFAO ...hell I might have even taken it up myself LMAO

  • Freddie smokes to lower the tone of his voice. It's a thing which most opera tenors do and having a voice in the tenor range it was what Freddie thought was best for the music

  • what utter bullshit!! LOL

  • I was there he he :) I remember some git saying "They won't go on until the Sun goes down!!" all with authority just as Flash struck up LMAO.

I don't think there was a better opening by anyone in the Eighties. Mr May walks forward does a bit and they cheer then the Gay bloke in white came forward and it exploded...I can remember the cheer even now. It was a fucking awesome performance on a hot that day too, Hells Angels security and warm beer....wot a fucking gig :)

  • queen, their songs bring tears of joy to my eyes

    long live queen!!!!!

  • Vote for Freddie!

    votenumber1 . c o m

  • Strange to see Freddie performing without his half mic stand. He had to ditch it so he could get up to the higher parts of the stage.

  • THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!

  • You're Right!
