  • why dont you use the rocket pods when your getting close to a helicopter? wont it destroy it quicker?

  • @Axelarateofrayni I'll try it more but in the past I've found it unreliable, especially on the conquest jets which seem to have a wider alternating pattern between the rockets since they fire from each wing.

Also, if I'm starting from far away I'd rather send off the pods first if they aren't moving much and then use the mini-canon as they reload and I get closer. That way it's easier to track them if they begin evasive maneuvers and IF I run out of mini-canon I can still switch back to pods.

  • you should get a mouse with on the fly dpi switching, so you can have high sensitivity for maneuverability and low sensitivity for shooting. My favorite is the rat 9 (rat 7 is the wired version)

  • @stuffstuffa I got one after this video, Logitech G400. Thanks!

  • When do I unlock rocketpods I just unlocked belt speed 4th unlock

  • @skoowy 6200 Jet Score

  • I hate heatseekers on jets its a piece of s*** it takes like 20 seconds for it to lock on when your driving perfectly still

  • @skoowy The lock time depends what unlocks you are using and they are using. Stealth/Beam Scanning/etc. This is partially why people often stop using Heat Seekers once they get used to the jet and unlock other things.

  • I can't aim properly with the Jet gun, i diseable vehicules most of the time and the pilot ejec himself and the choppa fly away or kill me... I use the Extreme 3D Pro and the joystick sensitivity is at it's max. What can i do ? That's fucking piss me off beyond belief...

  • @Xainfinen Wish I could be of more help but I too wasn't a fan of aiming with the joystick.

  • @seedyrom34 Urght... :/ thanks for answering

  • Thx for these tips ... very useful !!

  • Get yourself a Logitech Wingman stick for your PC. you'll notice a vast improvement in controllability.

  • @MigHound I own a Logitech 3D Extreme Pro and used it for a few weeks but went back to mouse/keyboard. I know some fantastic pilots use sticks but the way I play I'm used to using Free Look extensively and DICE's terrible joystick support doesn't work well with it. Even with Realmware's one-button Free Look fix, it's "all or nothing", like an on/off switch. So you can't finely aim it or hold on a target for fast spotting.

Plus since this video I've gotten much better at aiming with the mouse.

  • Does sensitivity matter for jets if you're on PS3?

  • @lilItalia93 I'd think there was a setting in there to increase it but I could be wrong. It's more of an issue on PC though.

  • @seedyrom34 If you ever play bf3 on ps3 add me and we'll fly around sometime my psn is collin3197

  • @collin031970 I'm on PC but thanks for the offer =)

  • im subbing this is good stuff!!!

  • Hey, how come you can move the machine gun's reticle? I can't do that.

  • @DURGS101 You mean the circle? That's actually not the reticle but instead shows the direction you are drifting (happens when afterburnering out of turns, using the rudder/yaw, etc...otherwise it's in the center most of the time. The actual MG reticle on the jet is the crosshair in the center.

  • @seedyrom34 I know which is which, it just seems like you are able to move it. By the way, I try to do everything you say to do, but it's 5,000,000 times harder on console. I haven't even gotten half enough to unlock flares, and I've put at least 12 hours which is more than half my total time in jets.

  • @DURGS101 Oh I see. Yeah, not sure why it seems like I'm moving it. Sorry to hear it's been difficult on the console but rest assured I've heard the same thing from many people. It's not easy using those analog sticks for fine precision control I hear.

  • @DURGS101

It's a glitch with the reticle when switching between your cannon and Rocket pods. Due to the floating rocket pod reticle, the cannon reticle will remain wherever the rocket pod reticle was when he switched to the cannon. You may have noticed the same thing when using guided rockets with the LittleBird/Z-11 scout helicopters. Each of these can be fixed by switching to third person before switching to a fixed reticle.

  • Most amazing guide I have ever watched. Usually use Heli's. I use to use jets but lately my maneuvering skills have been mediocre so I gave up. I'm not sure if everyones getting better. What are some things I could do to break off an enemy line of sight I normally fly low but it hasn't been working lately.

  • @evan003daysgrace Flying low is good if you're trying to avoid air targets as you can break their lock with the passive Below Radar perk like your Heli has. If that isn't available, I'll often use trees (the tops can be flown through) and buildings to try to get out of line of sight long enough to hit the edge of the map. If I'm confident I wasn't followed, then I go vertical, climbing near the ceiling to do slow circle scans of the field for spotting. Then pounce =)

  • @evan003daysgrace Further more, if low flying isn't safe I'll sometimes rely on ECM Jammer which can briefly remove me from enemy radar (3-4 seconds) which is often enough to get out of line of sight and go vertical so they don't see me. Combine that with getting used to turning at 290-310 speed (in cockpit view) for ultra fast maneuvers. All you need is to make them not face you briefly then you can make your turn to vertical and confuse them on Air Radar.

  • Nice vid. It's just a bit hard for me to get any jet unlocks. But, no complaints! You truly helped me out!

  • Seedy, thanks so much! I have over 200 hours in BF3, and pretty good with infantry and ground vehicles, but damn I could never fly a jet! In 2 sessions of jet flying after watching your vids, jet service star 1.

    Thanks a lot buddy!

  • @abreddevil Love hearing stories like this. Glad to have helped and thanks for the feedback!

  • @seedyrom34 Although I still struggle against good pilots. I guess where I'm going wrong is that I don't have a good enough success rate when it comes to killing other jets when I actually get behind them.. sometimes takes me a fair bit of time.. Do you think you could do a video about using the main cannon. Where to aim, how much to lead.. such things?

PS. I sent you a friend req of Battlelog. My soldier is radical7red. I'm a handy squadmate on foot! ;)

  • @abreddevil That might be tough because most of the leading with the mini-canon comes from practice with it. In my earliest videos I was pretty bad myself. I'll see what I can think of though.

  • @seedyrom34 One last question. What are your mouse settings? DPI/ in game sensitivity. Thanks for all your replies! :)

I hope you accept my friend req on battlelog, would be nice to fly with you sometime. Cheers!

  • @abreddevil No problem. I run at 2000DPI on my mouse and have the sensitivity at about 15% in the game. Before the last big patch I had it maxed out but they increased the max. sensitivity a lot so I run a lot lower now.

  • So read this. Me and my friend play every night. and we always help each other. Not bragging but we are pretty good/ pretty unstoppable. We have codes and terms to go along with our work. If one of us is being chased and screwed we can usually out turn them and get behind. But we also help each other. Tonight that wasnt the case with this one kid. Level 26 and SUPER OUT MANUVERING us. Nothing we could do to kill him. Im in a super turn and he lights me up, so hes super super turning. WTF? Help

  • @Bitchesgivehigh5s Well it's possible he's really good about keeping a perfect ~300 speed for optimum tight turns because it makes a HUGE difference. He probably stays in cockpit view and keeps his eyes on the air speed and mini-map and is really good with spatial awareness and knowing where his opponent will be. He also may have been using ECM jammer offensively (to hide himself briefly) which is another good tactic. Or he's lucky!

I plan to do another video soon showing some of these strats.

  • @seedyrom34 Hurry up with that vid please, getting tired of being outturned constantly. :(

  • @Bitchesgivehigh5s Battlefield 3 tip for jets. When you are turning brake with what ever key you have and you will turn much tighter then if you used afterburners or just a regular turn. If you would like any more tips just ask.

  • Rocket pods + Guns = Only way to fight. If you're against pilots who know what they are doing, your odds of killing them with missiles are extremely slim. Only chance you really have of taking them down, or even hitting them with missiles, is if you fire them head on at the last second before passing. Otherwise, they'll have early warning that you are coming, flare/ECM out of that lock, go evasive, and within seconds be on your tail and kill you.

Missiles get the user killed more than anything.

  • try putting pitch up as spacebar

  • @rEcKLesSzzz Yep, a great tip for anyone using the mouse. I prefer it on a spare mouse button but that's me and I'm strange.

  • loading the video, hearing this song -> like!

  • I don't have BF3, but I do have a very effective way to get behind the target. 1. Start flying straight. 2. Go full speed. 3. Ease up on the throttle 4. Kill that sumbitch when he blows by you

  • @squish500 Sadly the "Maverick" move from Top Gun doesn't work too well against a quality pilot since you're an easy target. However, doing this in the F35 with the Realmware settings patch to map "Hard Brake" comes close!

  • Awesome video, needed this guidance as I was being blown out of the sky with my guns (terrible aim) and all the heat seekers my opponents seem to have all the time!

  • when i heard the song in the background i instantly knew it would be a good video

  • I just unlocked Beam scanning for my jet. Is Guide Missle/ Beam Scanning a better choice for air to air or are heat seekers easier? Most people I fly against have flares so guide missile should be easier, right?

  • @SALEENS7GTR5 Guided missile is great when something has been laser designated but it doesn't do a lot of damage by itself when used on ground targets without it. However, some people do use it really well with combined minigun use to finish off targets. As far as Beam Scanning goes, you're giving up a lot just to be able to lock on to enemies a bit quicker but it's worth trying to see if it works for your playstyle. (had to retype this, mistakenly misread part before).

  • Cheers m8 make more videos plz :) I'm subbscribing and giving u a giant like

  • great tacher

  • Wow this was great

  • If you want to make the jets easier to control on console go to the option and set the jet control on legacy and do it for the helicopters too trust me it helps

  • So would maxing Out sensitivity help? I tried and I did better but wat can I do besides slowing down and maxing out sensitivity to win a circle dogfight?

  • @csgptg Maxing out sensitivity may not be ideal now since they increased it in the last patch. That might be TOO fast. My advice is to find the setting that is as high as possible while still feeling comfortable while aiming. From there, get used to dogfighting in the cockpit view so you can see your air-speed in the upper left and try to keep it around 300-310, which is the best for turning.

    That and practice!

  • @seedyrom34 Ah, I was wondering why some people turned extremely better than I did, when I looked at my Air-Radar on my Jet it's like they just completely turned the Jet around like a flip with no effort and was on my ass, I also see people fly around with the landing gear out and that can be a pain in the ass, One dude was very effective while using it he kept owning me, I couldn't turn tight enough to nail him and he was always on me, i would fly away and he would chase and repeat.

  • @ZoryuOfSetsunaPS3 Yep, once you figure out that sweet spot for turning your game will get MUCH better. If you can't keep an eye on the air speed indicator, get used to pressing the "S" button (or whatever your decelerate button is) every few seconds because the jet will automatically speed up by itself. So when in doubt, tap it repeatedly to keep the airspeed in the sweet spot. Good luck!

  • @seedyrom34 I'm on console by the way (PS3). lol I do want to get a nice gaming rig though, but bills are getting in the way and I can't work right now because of my health, still trying to work something out though. And great video by the way, I'm also a pretty good Jet Pilot on consoles now, but what I enjoy most though is helicopter flying in BF3 that's my bread and butter. I do wish Dice would add private servers so you can practice with helicopters and such like PC has.

  • @seedyrom34 Indeed, I'm glad I found that out. I thought the Jets and Helicopters had a set sensitivity to them, and I did not even know that. But yeah, I'm on console by the way, I do want to get a beastly gaming rig though, I just can't afford it right now with bills, and personal stuff I need to do. I do wish Dice would add Private servers for consoles though that would be sweet, I'm a good Jet Pilot, I'm alright with Heli's, just need more practice. Great video by the way!

  • @seedyrom34 For some reason I always thought the Jet's, and Helicopters had a set sensitivity to them, I'm glad they don't. I'm on console by the way, but I do want to get a nice beastly gaming rig, I just can't get one yet with bills and not being able to work stuff and personal stuff I have to clear out. I'm a pretty good Jet Pilot, and an alright Helicopter Pilot, I wish Dice would add Private servers for consoles like PC has, that way I could get better and practice more.

  • @seedyrom34 yeah, earlier i had just dogfighted on rush in a-10, your advice worked well. But i found a lil trick, on mid-level altitude, do the split-s. I did on on conquest with 2 guys on me, one crashed, the other i got without difficulty XD If you have a ps3, we should play sometime.

  • @csgptg Good stuff!

  • how do u turn up vehicle sensitivity

  • @MegaSt81 There's a slider bar in option on PC for it. Not sure on consoles.

  • @seedyrom34 wait so you have a ps3?

  • @csgptg I do but not for BF3. By "last patch" didn't mean the PS3 one but the DLC for Karkand a while ago for PC. This video was made just before that and sensitivity changed after.

  • Thanks to your tips, I was able to gain 3 unlocks in a day! Thanks!

  • @00hydraburst Excellent!

  • (i play xbox)so is the reason im basically dead as soon as someone gets on me if they use the minigun and not missiles because my wingman pretty much ignores me and everyone i know plays mw3?

  • I play this on xbox and I play amnesia on pc

  • Great

  • Dude, fly with the arrowkeys not the mouse...

  • @jomenvisst1 I and many others I game with are terrible with the arrow keys. The mouse also offers FAR more flexibility with Free Look too. About half the stuff in my later videos wouldn't be possible with just the keyboard sadly.

  • @seedyrom34 I have used keyboard for every BF game with Jets. And I can perform all the manuvers that you are showing just as easy with the keyboard not the mouse. I think it's just personal prefrence. I'm on my way to my 9th Jet Service medal. Thanks It's helped me to be an even better pilot with these tips. The only one you can't really help is if you have a retarded wingman. But you look like a total badass if you take on both of the ememies by yourself and own them.

  • @Yeowie69 It's difficult for me to explain unless you've played both ways extensively but I'll try! It's not that the maneuvers can't be performed with a keyboard it's that certain moves are easier and require less effort/precision with the mouse. In fact, some things are easier with the keyboard. Each has their strengths and you're right, it mostly comes down to personal preference.

There is, however, one issue with the keyboard and that's Free Look. I'll explain in my next post (out of room)

  • @Yeowie69 (cont.) This video is old but in my others you see how important Free Looking around the cockpit is to targeting and avoiding danger. Using it quickly and accurately separates great pilots from decent pilots. With the mouse you can snap to a specific position instantly and hold it, not too far/short/high.

With the keyboard (and joystick), it's "all or nothing". You're either moving or resetting, it's a bit slower and there's no finesse. That's the main reason I prefer mouse.

  • When I am in a jet I have trouble spotting other jets, despite having them in the middle of the reticule, many times the other jet does not get spotted.

I only have flares unlocked and I tend to always have enemy aircraft stalking me while I lose them easily from sight. What should I do to get some decent points until I have the air radar then? The enemy jets are always better equiped

  • @octapusxft Unfortunately spotting other jets doesn't always work properly. Often times their range is too far for it to spot and/or it just doesn't work (in fact, BF3 does this all the time). You might try playing Rush mode since there's only one other jet to stalk you and gain altitude around the edges of the map, looking for him when you can. Also, use Free-look to check behind you (and above!) more often and don't fly smooth as much, be erratic and unpredictable. Good luck!

  • you need a new song for the jet tips . push it to the limit :D

  • @greenfiend42000 Haha, good idea!

  • Wow! You ave a wingman! It's very difficult for me to find one :/

  • @mmmspartan Don't feel bad, most regular games I don't have one. However, playing with friends/platoon really helps change that if you can.

  • @seedyrom34 I Always try to do a cool jet teamwork or at least jet and helicopter teamwork but it seems impossible x) Anyway thanks. Nice video :D

  • @mmmspartan Try to get some friends to watch the better jet videos online. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll want to learn and team up. I'm lucky to have 4-5 really great pilots I know.

  • The music made this perfect :)

  • Console: 1v1 jets. No wingmen. It sucks

  • @xtremenerfer155 play conquest dummy

  • deserves like

  • love the taste in music btw

  • i got ps3 and wen im stuck in a dog fight it seems like my opponent makes much tighter thurns than me and i just cant get behind em. any tips??

  • @hockeyallday666 A good pilot can be very difficult to get away from if he matches/counters your moves. However, make sure that you're keeping your speed around 300-310 and you will turn much quicker. It helps some people to stay on inside view so they can see it easier in the upper left. It usually means you have to press the brake every few seconds to keep around that speed. You can also google "basic jet maneuvers" and one of the first sites has some great tips on dealing with them.

  • @hockeyallday666 that may have been me LOLOLOL C-Man5150? what i do is use ur brake . it allows you to make a really small turning radios . dont hold it longer then 5 seconds or ur engine will stall

  • thank you :)

  • What's your sensitivity now in numbers?

  • @Shernoc 15% according to the BF3 Settings Editor.

  • I found it very useful that instead of upping your mouse sensitivity you can change the "Pull Up" control in the jet to the spacebar. This helps me avoid having to move my mouse around a whole lot and helps me make tighter turns than most people. :)

  • @sgtfailboat2 Yep! A lot of us have started doing this and it helps quite a bit. I still like it a bit high for twitchy evasion but not nearly as high as I had it before. Great tip!

  • Xbox, pc, or ps3

  • @JaWayne5 This was filmed on PC.

  • Great how you structure your decisions on luck and the chances you got. For example, when you barely got hit, you counted on a no lock-on.

  • Creat video! :) Your voice could be a bit stronger maybe. And thanks for the tip about binding pitch up and down to some buttons, have to try that! Aaand about the air-radar, for some reason i dont like it :o Its so small and i can only see flying thing near me. I always use the normal map opened as big as possible, so for example i can see when jet or heli leaves from enemy base etc..

  • @piavo Thanks! Do you mean I should be a little louder next time? I can certainly adjust that.

  • @seedyrom34

Sounded fine to me! Great video man.

  • @seedyrom34 Yes that is what i meant :D I was missing a word..

  • @piavo Good to know! I'll probably lower the in-game sounds a bit and go for a better balance next time.

  • on xbox its 1v1 so no wingman, people are only doing circles, to waht does I need to doe, I dont want to do that for 15 min for chasing him...

  • @oligreendot Really? Not even two jets on Conquest Caspian or anything? Wow, I hadn't realized that. In that case you want to try to get above or below them and try flying outward when they aren't directly behind you. That way you can reset the fight and/or get away. It's risky in that you might get spotted and could be an easy kill but it's better than flying in circles the entire map. Good luck!

  • @seedyrom34 xbox has 2 jets per match. not 1v1, just wanted to let you know.

  • @Gasmaster27 Thanks, I thought that was the case but couldn't verify. I'm guessing he was talking about Rush games which usually only have one.

  • @oligreendot in conquest there is 2 jets

  • i soo whant that two pepol can be in a jet. would be awsome in my opinion:) Really good vide btw:)

  • @08Tompan Me too, I miss the dual-pilot jets! Some say they'd be a bit overpowered in BF3 but if they changed the handling/offensive abilities a bit so that they were only powerful when two people used them, maybe they could find a happy balance.

  • Nice work! I'm working on my 2nd service star

  • never thought about the wing man stuff, cheers for the tip

  • I just cant use anything other than a joystick for jets, tried mouse but it just doesn't feel right to me. The plus side I guess is that my dead zone and turn limit is right there exactly when I need it, if I want to do a u-turn or any turn for that matter, as fast as possible I just brake and pull back and its right there, no running out of space or twitchy movement, although it is still down to personal preference and practice at the end of the day. Nice video dude!

  • I've been watching a lot of pc jet videos lately and I play on ps3. I realized that its much easier to fly jets on console because of the analog sticks.

  • @Snarfello of course.

  • thanku so much ithis really friggn worked and helped!(im subscribing)

  • @SamoanWarrior98 Excellent!

  • Song reminds me of scarface. Anyways thanks for the tips!

  • When I fly I switch between mouse and keyboard all the time XD and a good option is to fly into the sun, he doesnt see a shit then :p

  • @Lysta92 Definitely. Flying into the sun and pulling a quick maneuver usually means they can't follow quick enough.

  • dont shy away from the challenge young fellow. make a hardcore vid! come one u can do it, u make youtube vids all day, youve got time;). a real ace doesnt need crutches.

  • Flyiiiiinn throuugh the danger zone

  • Something you may not have known: In the cockpit view, the number in the top left corner of your HUD is your airspeed, and the number in the top right is your altitude. I find that I can make the tightest turns by keeping my airspeed between 290 and 300 mph. Also, the flight ceiling (the point at which you stall) is only around 700 feet on Xbox 360 (which I play on), but much higher on PC, perhaps closer to 1000 feet or so.

Anyway, great video, keep it up!

  • @IAwkwardSilence Yep, I most certainly do! It just doesn't seem like it because way back when I filmed this video I was still learning and wasn't really using airspeed/altitude to my advantage. You probably saw that I wasn't slowing down for dive passes/choppers and wasn't always properly dropping my speed for a turn and afterburnering out of the apex.

Good on you to mention it though. Sharp eye!

  • @seedyrom34 can you explain this "afterburnering out of the apex."? i am new in this.

  • @antrax3 You might consider googling the apex of a turn for a clear description but basically it's after you've reached the "center" (not always, but usually) of the turn and you're on the way back.

  • 4:23 LOL.

  • Thanks for posting this video. So you use keyboard and mouse? How long did it take you to get used to it. Are you using "a" "w" "d" keys and the mouse? I had the same problems with maxing out. I'll try to bump up my sensitivity.;

  • @nevraXmike Still using it yes and it took about a week before I felt really confident with it and could turn exactly where I wanted to. Precise aiming took about another week or two (and it's still getting better) because I have my sensitivity so high.

I use A/D for yaw/rudder control (fine tuning aim left and right mostly), W/S for throttle up/down and the mouse for pitch/roll. There's a detailed rundown and pictures of it at the bottom of the description on this video.

  • I'm playing on PS3, yet i barely get only 3-4 kills, i only got the IR flares unlocked. Priddy much im getting outrunned by people with heatseeking missiles. Any tips?

  • @WolfAsari You have options until you get better at shaking missile lock with evasive maneuvers. 1) Flare the first and get away/reset to base or map edge while your flare replenishes. 2) Unlock Below Radar perk which is always activated and allows stops people from locking on to you when you fly very low. It wont stop a fired missile but will drop the lock if it hasn't launched yet. 3) Practice dodging (search "bf3 dodging missiles").

I do 1 & 2 in my later videos often. Dodging is risky.

  • @WolfAsari More: As I said, you'll see me use Below Radar a lot in my later videos. When I start to get locked on, I'll dive to the floor and fly away from the battle zone to the map edge to drop the lock AND allow for my flare to reset.

Sometimes it means breaking off a tempting target but it's better to stay alive and come back to the fight. Be careful if someone is right on your tail when doing this because they could switch to guns and get you. Air Radar helps to know if they are.

  • @WolfAsari One last thing: If you do drop locks by using Below Radar and flying low, make sure you get back very high into the air as soon as possible. It's usually safest on the edges of the map, allowing you to free look back at the bases and spot your next target.

You can repeat this over and over on intense battles. Fight over the base, flee to the edge/ceiling, reset flares/extinguishers, climb high, re-spot targets, shoot targets at bases....rinse and repeat. Good luck!

  • @seedyrom34 Thanks, Do you need to have high points to unlock the Below and Air Radar? I only have unlocked Flares, because it is really hard to kill with machine gun only.

  • @WolfAsari Below Radar is at 15000 points and is the 5th from last unlock so it'll be a while before you get it. Until then you'll have to work on buying yourself as much time as possible for flares to reset and don't be too greedy chasing targets if your flare is down or the area is covered by Stingers/Seekers.

The bright side about being forced to use the gun early is that it makes you get good with it. You'll want to use it OFTEN to kill other vehicles since it can't be counter-measured!

  • @seedyrom34 Sure that is what i though, But i still havent got the hang to attack vehicles on the ground, Mostly i focus on the jets. Need more practice, i only played jets for a few days.

  • @WolfAsari That's the right way to look at it though. Once you get the hang of clearing the skies then you can work on ground vehicles and such. Keep at it!

  • make a jet vid playing hardcore. a 12 year old can can switch to third person and let their health regenerate. but descent vid. thumbs up

  • @nunuleon A) If a 12 year old could do it then we wouldn't have thousands of people on the boards unable to fly with dozens of tutorial videos and such. B) Hardcore is a great idea in theory and I'd still prefer it if weren't full of idiotic, selfish teammates and snipers.

Acting as if the jet on hardcore is some magical, more impressive feat is silly. The playing field is level either way, allowing both the opponent and yourself to third person (or not). If it makes you feel tough, so be it.

  • Great vid! Have you tried a hybrid combo? Using the arrow keys for turns and large maneuvers and then switching to the mouse for precise aiming? At least this way you don't have to deal with desk space...

  • @aceblazer25 For me desk space isn't an issue anymore with a high DPI mouse. That said, it's an interesting idea. Not sure I could unlearn at this point though!

  • I'm so sad that I don't have a good computer to run this game :( My computer can run this game but it'll get frame drops every now and then.

  • also: is there any reason to take a fire extinguisher over flares? why would anyone ever do that?

  • @krinkle8 Absolutely. It's a viable choice if it fits your play-style and ability. Think of it this way. Instead of dodging the missile with a flare, you can try to out-fly it using a building or a sharp, downward turn make it miss. If you succeed, you save your repair. If it hits you, you can repair the damage and continue flying (MOST of the time, it bugs out sometimes). You can use it again after a cool-down.

Definitely give it a try and see if you prefer it.

  • what are your key bindings? someone told me space is good for pitch up... also what did you mean about RMB to free look? My right button does nothing? is this an ability you have to unlock?

  • @krinkle8 My key bindings are in the description, check it out. As for pitch up, yes space is a good spot. You just want something you can easily hold/mash. For mine I chose a spare mouse button I can grip while turning.

Holding RMB and moving the mouse while in-cockpit view should allow you to free-look around, which is a huge benefit in spotting. No need to unlock and you'll use it often! Check out my other videos for examples of it.

  • sry for being noobish but what does the wingmen mean

  • @liverstoner No problem! A "wingman" in military terms is a pilot who supports/helps another pilot in dangerous flying situations. It can be another helicopter, jet or anything in the air.

By working together they can usually be much more effective by spotting for each other, helping take down enemies together or various other things. You can see more use of a "wingman" in my other video: watch?v=ZnE2nicorAk

  • @seedyrom34 thanks, btw this is by far the best video tutorial for jets

  • @seedyrom34 one more question: what does that ring mean on the heads up display when you shoot the minigun

  • @liverstoner The ring around the crosshairs when the minigun is selected shows the direction your jet is headed. Normally it's centered but if your jet is drifting at an angle you'll see it move a bit to the side.

  • I didn't know the higher sensitivity = sharper turns. Amazing tip

  • @CrescentStarSkater Not sure as I'm on PC but I think it's R1. Give it a try.

  • thanks nice vid....cirlce s manouvers and braking downward turns helped me alot at first

  • Well i do much better now because i saw in your video you use alots the 3rd person camera i start to use it always now it help alots to chase enemy or escape and spot enemy,i was usually using only 1st person it was kinda hard to find enemy plane first or keep your look on them if you lose sight of them in 1st person :D thx for tips tho, but the guy who keep killing me in a server is ether really good or maybe he is cheating because he is barely ranked he Own all the jets and get like 25kill+top

  • @Seedyrom34

Hey, Whats so great about Air Radar ? You kept mentioning it in the annotations.

  • the thing i dont like about jet is i think some player on pc are cheater because they never!! miss you with machine gun even if you move like crazy and try to escape them or even on ground they shoot from miles away with rocket on a tank and all hit on target even on the move,i believe some of them use aimbot because most player arent this accurate, its just not that possible

  • @SuperCratoss That could be SOFLAM which is laser targeting and you can't flare it. Or you could be getting hit by multiple targets? Or maybe you don't have Air Radar on which means people can sneak up on you and it seems like you got hit from very far.

I have yet to ever see a jet hacker (since ground aimbot is 100 times more effective) but I guess it's possible. You should try to find some quality servers with admins/platoons that are online and can boot people who hack in realtime.

  • @seedyrom34 thanks i will try it out tomorrow. :)

  • Please give me some tips. I played for about 40 min and havent even got a fucking point. It frustrating. It is easier on pc as your aim is very stable whereas on ps3 its much harder.

  • @GunsNScoop I agree as I'm not very good at finesse aiming on the PS3/Xbox controller. I find the mouse much easier for that on PC compared to past games on console I tried. You've probably already tried it but you might see if you can adjust the sensitivity on the PS3 settings to find a sweet spot where you can aim smoothly and still turn quickly when necessary.

I wish I had better tips for console aiming. Maybe someone here can help you out? I've got some good PS3/Xbox pilots as subs.

  • Pc is easier as your aim is much stadier whereas ps3 is fucking HARD, i flew for good 40min and i havent even got one fucking point!!!!! Please help im really frustrated!!!

  • I use keyboards only to fly and i can do some pretty sick stuff with it, but should i learn how to fly with mouse too? Does the mouse give more maneuverability than the keyboard and would someone who can fly quite well in keyboard do better if he switched to mouse flight? Also, would autoloader be better in replacing air radar? cos i dont lose my targets much anyway. Thanks

  • @soundpunker I can't really say you use a mouse or not because I've definitely seen some very good keyboard pilots. I can confirm that yes, using a mouse does offer a bit more maneuverability (just because you can twitch roll instead of letting go of a key and pressing another) but the different isn't huge and it's a trade-off because they keyboard allows you to hold a direction much easier.

At most you might try the mouse for an hour or two on a low population server and see if you like it.

  • @seedyrom34 great thx for the tips! love your vids. Even as a pilot from BF1942 i still found your vids teaching me new stuff!

  • @soundpunker Glad to help out! Us BF veterans need to stick together.

  • @seedyrom34 well I've tried what I've learnt from your video today. Instead of my usual style of sticking low to the ground, I've tried gaining the higher air. Problem now is that with my air radar perk replacing my stealth, its too easy and too obvious for enemy to lock on with soflams and too much missiles are being lobbed faster than my flares can reload. Any suggestions to counter this or should I stick with my low flying style?
