Mine is an AP1 completely stock and it rev up to 9136 rpm

Did you just compare a bone-stock car to a fully built race car? You realize that vette is getting over 20mpg and will last well over 100,000 miles, and that the engine on that s2000 will not live anywhere near that long. That said, throw some slicks onto the "z09" (its called a ZR1) and it'll run a 10.7

WHAT are u talking about ? Dont make the assumption that the F20 in the s2k will not last because its on boost. You can still get 20mpg with an S2K on boost ... just dont drive each gear to redline just like the vette. Hop off your high horse fella.

yeah, the RPM isn't exactly 8 trillion becuase I rounded the HP up instead of giving a bunch of decimals. Are you using 5252 or 5250? I use 5252.

um...dude, the gearbox in no way whatsoever...controls the redline...the rev limiter on the engine controls the redline....stock motor on an ap1 has a nine grand redline...on an ap2 its only 8 grand because they increased the stroke to make it a 2.2 from a 2.0

actually youre not very smart. I own both an AP1 and an AP2.

AP1 is actually 8940 and AP2 is 8200

most people dont realize that the AP1 doesnt actually rev to 9000 stock, very close, but if you hook it to a computer, or scan the ecu, its actually 8940

@azcheron You're wrong. The AP2's redline is 8,300RPM. It's PEAK HORSEPOWER Output is at 7,800RPMS.

The AP1's Redline is at 9,500RPMS. The PEAK HORSEPOWER OUTPUT is 8,700RPM. Thank you.

The gearbox is a S2000 PPG gearbox, all the gears have been upgraded to handle the power, I broke 2nd gear in 2 standard gearboxes, that's why I went for PPG Gearbox

RT has no effect on ET time. You can sit at the tree for 3 hours, the ET starts when you break the line. He can have a RT of 3 hours and still manage a 10.7.

s2000s are def no drag car, they were built for a road track. i have a Turbo ap1, with about 5k into it (inline pro turbo, 3mm headgasket, clutch and exhaust) and im making 401whp. def a great car to mod, but they are still tuned to handle, not just go straight, Great car tho!

I have a wrx and it's about a 13 flat car stock. Getting that to a 10.7 is about a $3,000 venture. Seeing as how the spoon neons can do 9's in the quarter and the engine alone is $15K I think that's more along the lines of what we are splitting hairs on. ANYTHING in the tens is a seriously great eta. How about a vette? BIG FUGGIN DEAL is my point. A mustang or gremlin in the 10's is something to brag about. NOT an s2000 or similar already <13 sec car.

Look, the car already has over 200bhp out of the box. Further, it doesn't take much if you choose to modify the aspiration on a 8,500rpm engine money wise. Perhaps you like burning cash to go fast but I can get a renault going 3.7 0-60 with a $1,200 modification. It's just not impressive to me. OK???
