@dancexlife im sorry, with all retpect... bullshit. Plenty of bass players rest their arm on the bass. Just find a comfirtable position, as long as you dont cramp up. If you dont rest your arm then your shoulder starts getting tense. The main rule about playing any instrument is it's like yoga: you gotta monitor your body so that it doesn't tense up anywhere at all.
