What a depressing looking place isn't it ? - looks like Burnley - Rossendale .. dark, damp, post industrial and gloomy. i say drop a few nukes on the damn places .. ! LOL
when i first moved to hebden, i'd been there for bout 2 month and i heard this siren and papped my pants!!! no one had ever told me bout the siren and i didn't know whether to go hide in the cellar lmao!!! what a ninny!! i now live in mytholm and that river gets really bad :/
I'd been watching all the old Protect and Survive Nuclear War videos and stuff about a week before this happened and I swear it scared the shit out of me.. Why do they use the same siren?! They should at least let people know they use it for floods haha
Those Carters sirens are the most ominous, threatening, bone-chilling noise making device in the history of mankind. This is coming from a lifelong siren fanatic, so I may be biased, but you have to admit it's not something you want to wake up to in the middle of the night.

@LinuxManUK looks pretty to me - I love industrial heritage. The hills look so English.

I remember, was it much higher in the river though or is it just that the defences held this time round?
