@coong7777 a is the number in front of the x2, b is the number in front of the x, and c is the number (constant) with no x in front of it. Since there is no number in front x2, this is the same as a number "1" in front.
@tanyc1173 If you line up the equation 2x2 + 7x + 3 with ax2 + bx + c, you will see that the coefficient 2 is the "a", and 7 is the "b", and 3 is the "c". These are the numbers you substitute into the quadratic formula.
