Obviously an homage to the now, sadly, lacklustre, John Cleese. Fry can be a funny man until you realise half his career is puff politics. It's a pity to be a comedy star in England and inparticular, via the BBC, one needs be a sodomite.
@MandoMohan yeh that doesn't add up. Fry never makes much of his sexuality at all and he isn't what would be called 'camp' really. Also there are alot of British comedians that are famous and on the BBC that are in no way gay. Sweeping generalisations never work and Trolling is never that funny.
It's funny, Stephen is usually so calm, so retaining-of-his-composure, as cool as a cocking cucumber, yet here he takes to blind irrational anger as easily as a reader of the Daily Mail.
Of course, this only serves to heighten his impeccable awesomery.
I know, I love Stephen Fry's special brand of swearing. He still does it, in fact. In one of his Podcasts, he talks about how much he hates grammar freaks. His exact words are, "They're too farting busy sneering at a greengrocer's less-than-perfect use of the apostrophe. Well, sod them to Hades."
I just noticed, at 0:24 Stephen cuts his middle finger, and you can see him looking at his hand a few times from then on. And then when he cuts the cucumber there's a big smear of blood on it. Hard to see in this video though.
And yet he finished the sketch. Props for the commitment.
I think that'd be very remiss fo you, any TV executive in the slightest bit of the shadow of their right minds would try and keep new episodes being made for as long as possible. You can't hurt yourself laughing if your little heart has been made to stoppy-wop-wop.
Next thing you know, you'll be saying "go and eat" instead of "Go eat" and "Lie down" instead of "Lay down." You'll be answering phones, paying bills and opening doors instead of just "getting" them all, and you'll be answering the question "HAVE you any (...)?" with "Yes, I HAVE" instead of that confusing, American "Yes, I do" Then we'll be able to understand you and where's it going to end? Hmm?
Stephen Fry turns another victim (shakes head sadly)
Hahaha! That's brilliant! I talk that way now as well, and i's so funny because I just finished watching the entire series of Jeeves And Wooster and I found myself greeting my friend with a "What ho!" hahaha
YES! I do that too! "What ho" instead of hello, and "Toodle-pip" instead of goodbye. And now my friends are doing it too. I'm slowly but steadily getting all of them addicted to British comedy.
Good tip Stephen! I will try this some time when I'm making my salad, perhaps can work like some kind of therapy. It's only the salad that will suffer... Bless this sketch... even if I'm not christian.
I tried to make a salad like this once but after a bottle of Muscadet (or two) I dropped the whole lot on the floor. What was the point, it seemed a good idea initially
I've noticed Stephen shows a certain dexterity in the kitchen, here and in other sketches/shows/films. I wonder if he really is a good cook? Probably is. God I love him!
As long as we stick to directing our violent and abusive actions at inanimate objects, at least we are not smashing in somebody else's head. So go ahead and kill that goddamn lettuce, Steven! I applaud you.
Proud to feel British again? What happened? Did you change nationalities? Or was it some kind dof selective amnesia that made you forget you British or something? In any case...glad you remembered...being British is the best! We may not run things properly anymore but we know humour when we stand on it!
I'd say it was the result of me now residing in America and having nothing but bad memories and feelings about Britain, but when I see my favourite Brit comedies I can feel proud. No one does it like us!
This guy cant be stopped. Always doing stuff.

True, it's not possible. Man if they ever did another show, just one, now they're older, I think I might die (happily)
