  • I hate to sound really really stupid, but I've watched this film a couple of times, and I was wondering, is the lobster a real one or a fake one?

  • As Peter Cook said.....

"John Mills won an Oscar for his goblin"

  • incredible acting by mills , i watched as a young girl with my mom and she loved this movie now as an adult i praise this movie, so innocent in a way, in this day and age so much over the top sex and violence in movies that this is still a classic in every way, love it!

  • Th word "ham acting" was invented to describe Mill's overblown acting in this film. It is a caricature.

  • Yes, this is often the type of performance that wins an Oscar. We are so aware that he is acting, acting, acting. Yawn.

Please!

  • YERK

  • When I was a boy I remember seeing this movie with my father (late)in a `VISTARAMA PROJECTION' theatre years ago!!I searched for this movie in YOUTUBE when I remembered some scenes act by JOHN MILLS (Names I came to know only now but remembered vaguely the scenes!)I am surprised how our present day movies have moved away from such outstanding and quality `character acting'!!Seeing this clip moves my heart!!JOHN MILLS REALLY DESERVES OSCAR FOR THIS SUPERB ACTING!!

  • 2 Oscars for him........

  • It's fair to say that Michael is a kind of cross between Quasimodo and Norman Wisdom.

  • superb acting of John Mills, I didn't know he won an Oscar for it! He deserved it indeed!

  • I think John Mills performance in this film was remarkable. He won a very much deserved OSCAR. Beautiful movie

  • I watch this film, how many times I want... and the sound of intro is very beautiful!

  • This is my favorit film and the most beautiful cenograph!

I would like know Ireland because the cliffs do moher!

  • I think that film was the most important of lives of the protagonists. Never seen!

  • Immediately after shooting the 'lobster scene' on the beach, David lean said to John Mills (Michael), "Have you ever won an Oscar Johnnie?" How prophetic was that! Dear Sir John, great actor, great man, sadly missed.

  • This really is a beautiful film.
