People say that u are not supposed to touch them when there new born or the mom will eat them .... and put the parents mom and dad () in a other cage for 3 weeks .. thats what i heaaard.... !

@boyfireify thier mothers feed the baby hamsters and i dont know anything about the father part but i guest

There should be a warning with the hamsters that says..

"DO NOT TRY && PUT HAMSTERS ON A 3 WEEK DIET OR THE RESULT WILL TURN INTO EATING ITSELF OR ITS PARTNER"..

&& in her case its babies as well... xO

@Athenea32 if they were Syrian hamsters im not surprised they are territorial hamsters and the stronger one would have ate the weaker i have no clue how they "ate each other" though.....

@emilyg1444 the mum will do most of it i just watch over them there was i think 8 in the end and they all went to good homes i kept 2 myself :)

If you touch the babies, the mother will eat them because she smells human!

@DannySmith300 It really upseats me how everyone things the mother is a savage. It not the scent that would bother the mom, it has nothing to do with it, unless the mom is malnourished, laking protein, feels threatened, or cant take care of them, the babies are fine as long as the mother knows you well. the "If you touch the babies the mother will eat them because she smells you!" is something parents tell kids, so they wont touch them and get desieses.

@LoliConSkullz i agree with you but the mother eating them part is half true they say you cant touch them until they have developed sexual maturity which is usually when they are 3-5 weeks on they will then have their own scent but i find it is okay to touch them around the time they have fur beacuse at that time the mother is not overly concerned

i just had my 3 batch of babys my first batch had 6 babys and 2nd 8 but i kill one by accedent now my 3rd batch has 11 babys just born yesterday

If you make the mother upset she will eat the babys so dont make like a 10 min video with out the mother there b/c when you put the mother back she will try to put the babys in her cheeks and kill them.

i thought something was wrong with my hamster because she started bleeding down there. and this morning i look in her cage and i see a baby! now she has 2 of them. they look exactly like the ones here. but y did she only have 2 when yours had so much? idk wat to do with them....like how to care for them....ill just leave it to the momma. good luck to u and i gues to me too lol

yeah, theyre small, tiny, and i get really pissed whenever I go to my local pet store and see the sign "Frozen pinkies in stock" above the feeder mouse cages. Shrimpy should have been a feeder mouse, but hes mine now!!!

Omg! They're as small as the mother's nose! I saw it just now, I thought they were at least 1 inch, omg I've gone mad!!!

Wow, amazing, I had a hamster once but i never gave birth I had a male and my sister had a male, it's so amazing how you can care for each one and they're all healthy and no one dies. Really a miracle, because they're so tiny.
