I love both bands! However, I live in Las Vegas and if KISS were playing at the MGM and AC/DC were at the Mandalay Bay on the same night I'd go to the KISS show.
Both bands are iconic. KISS and ACDC are the epitome of rock n roll in the pop culture. When people stereotype rock they think of dudes with spikes, explosions on stage and heavy guitar sounds and one of these bands have at least one of them.
glam metal is only 1 genre of metal, what other has KISS influenced?..certainly not "heavy metal"

KISS are one of the most influential bands ever, detroit rock city was the first song ever to have 2 guitars doin' harmonies together, they created hair metal along with aerosmith and van halen... they had theyr ups and downs but are still doin' great .

Remember i not or and never said anything against Judas priest, My opinion is that KISS is overall a Shock rock ban that did glam metal and some heavy metal songs. nothing anyone says is gonna change my mind and i cant be bothered arguing anymore. Although judas priest did a few ballads and released turbo, other bands have done much much worse.

@Riff28Raff The creation of glam metal is an experiment by KISS and i took off. sure other glam metal bands did better , but that is because KISS were one of the hevier glam bands alongwith guns n roses and motley crue. and the only disco song on "Dynasty" was "I was made for loving you" and maybe "sure know something" the restof the work as usual was stereotyped.
@novacaine30 KISS metal work in the 80s consists of "Lick it up" "Animalize" and "Asylum", although hot in the shade and crazy crazy nights were not metal at all they were pureley well written plain good songs. I also think that Anthrax and Megadeth are way better than Metallica.

@novacaine30 Strutter is not metal at all. KISS used many heavy metal techniques without glam. KISS was more metal than Judas Priest when they started, KISS's metal work is hevier than some Iron maiden, Guns n' roses, and Dio. and a fair bit of ozzy's stuf. KISS's songs in the 80s that used heavy metal techniques but had no glam were Heavy metal, They were fast enough, and the riffs were there along with Gene's vocals. Metallica was thrash when they made "Master of puppets".

@Riff28Raff I agree that KISS's 70s work was great as well as the live albums, at first i was like you, i said KISS went glam Fuck that!, when i started to listen to it i realised that a majority of the work did not at all sound glam, lets face it Gene could not sing glam even if he tried. The lyrics were well written, the riffs were faster, and Gene's vocals got louder much more raw. 80s KISS has been stereotyped and it is a shame.

Who the fuck is Garth Brooks? I hate acdc because of their slow repetitive music, In total only 6 songs in KISS's 80s work were glam and the rest of the songs have just been sterio typed as glam. @Riff28Raff KISS's work has not changed a great deal, 80s songs like "Fits like a glove, young and wasted, while the city sleeps, any way you slice it, murder in high heels, loves a deadly weapon and many others are songs that do not contain any glam elements and sound like slightly sped up versions of their old stuff. selling out in 1979-1980 was a great thing for kiss because they stopped selling out they returned hevier and focused and it rely does show in their music.

@novacaine30 Yes i know the concept album and their work between 1979 and 1982 was not their best by far but it when they pulled their shit together with creatures of the night, now that was a GREAT album. Lick it up, no dress up, but still the sound was KISS apart from the song "Lick it up" which was some what glam but still good. Listen to "While the city sleeps" and the other songs i listed in the last post, wou will notice that it is classic KISS and more hardcore than acdc.

Basic math.. Cooper started his first band in 1965. 45 years ago. When Kiss was still in puberty. Cooper paved the way for Kiss and all theatrical rock. Everything makes perfect sense , IF you think about it. Obviously you are so enamored with them clear thought is out of reach.

A compilation of many styles forming their own music, Yes. Completely original and all their own , not quite. I listen to both bands ( and of course Alice ) and do not deny they are both at the top of the game, but for camarobull to say Cooper had some good songs but generally terrible music/albums shows the limits of his music appreciation.

And the black sabbath thing is in a documantary call "when kiss ruled the world" and a few other sabbath and ozzy interviews.

Both bands are iconic. KISS and ACDC are the epitome of rock n roll in the pop culture. When people stereotype rock they think of dudes with spikes, explosions on stage and heavy guitar sounds and one of these bands have at least one of them.

KISS sold five sold out shows at Budokan Hall, made 4 solo albums all on the same day, and who cares about the facebook fans. Next, Bon Scott respected KISS and saw them live and said he had a great time. AC/DC opened for KISS a few times as well.

KISS is NOT metal! After they did a suck-ass disco album and then turned "pop", they were officially expelled from the metal community! At least AC/DC has stayed true to their roots and not been sucked into every single genre that's come and gone since the 70's. KISS did disco, pop, hair-metal and grunge! Plus, they had all the retarded merchandising that made them palitable to children. AC/DC did rock and roll, and they did it well! I'll take AC/DC over KISS any day of the week!

Remember i not or and never said anything against Judas priest, My opinion is that KISS is overall a Shock rock ban that did glam metal and some heavy metal songs. nothing anyone says is gonna change my mind and i cant be bothered arguing anymore. a good example of a power ballads is "dont know what you got till its gone" by cinderella..a sappy, sad song...that is meant for radio play.

KISS was more metal than Judas Priest when they started, KISS's metal work is hevier than some Iron maiden, Guns n' roses, and Dio. and a fair bit of ozzy's stuf. KISS's songs in the 80s that used heavy metal techniques but had no glam were Heavy metal, They were fast enough, and the riffs were there along with Gene's vocals. Metallica was thrash when they made "Master of puppets".

@Riff28Raff I agree that KISS's 70s work was great as well as the live albums, at first i was like you, i said KISS went glam Fuck that!, when i started to listen to it i realised that a majority of the work did not at all sound glam, lets face it Gene could not sing glam even if he tried. The lyrics were well written, the riffs were faster, and Gene's vocals got louder much more raw. 80s KISS has been stereotyped and it is a shame.

@Riff28Raff KISS's work has not changed a great deal, 80s songs like "Fits like a glove, young and wasted, while the city sleeps, any way you slice it, murder in high heels, loves a deadly weapon and many others are songs that do not contain any glam elements and sound like slightly sped up versions of their old stuff. selling out in 1979-1980 was a great thing for kiss because they stopped selling out they returned hevier and focused and it rely does show in their music.

KISS even tried a concept album "the elder" wich they didnt tour on that album, because it sold poorly..they did a fiew tv guest spots.

@novacaine30 Yes i know the concept album and their work between 1979 and 1982 was not their best by far but it when they pulled their shit together with creatures of the night, now that was a GREAT album. Lick it up, no dress up, but still the sound was KISS apart from the song "Lick it up" which was some what glam but still good. Listen to "While the city sleeps" and the other songs i listed in the last post, wou will notice that it is classic KISS and more hardcore than acdc.

and "lick it up" is far from classic KISS, neither is "hot in the shade"..its 80s KISS.

From the word go KISS has done what no band has done before, they pioneer genre's, enspire and motivate in their own unique way. And now you say KISS coppies other bands because they wrote a love ballad, KISS can take what they want because they have already given soo much.

Acdc started glam and went bluesrock because hmm well THEY WOULD MAKE MORE MONEY THAT WAY! and it worked. wat did kiss do hmmm they turned their back on their popular make up era and founded a new genre (glam metal). Compared to other glam metal bands KISS lacked costume. altough they may have looked glam a majority of their work did not sound glam.

KISS did there own thing with glam metal their over all glam metal style was still much hevier than Poison. and bands that were enspired by kiss followed kiss not the other way round! besides they only wore glitter crap on "Asylum". also the glam albums were a mix of both Heavy and glam metal which is far hevier and superior to acdc's Blue's rock.

Its either acc wereinfluenced by KISS or acdc stole KISS's sound without giving them credit. however they have mentioned that they were influenced by KISS. Influenced or not KISS plays harder and faster and simply better. KISS was far from being a boy band, KISS did not have to let acdc open for them. bottom line acdc are for fags like yourself. someone should tell this guy that pop rock is NOT cool.

@Riff28Raff acdc have said it, they were influenced by KISS. acdc formed 2 years after kiss and they started off as a glam band. acdc started to follow the direction of kiss when they got their new singer. KISS did not follow a fad! they went glam metal in 80s but they invented glam metal and many historians can back me up on that. so every one was following KISS's fad. and when KISS started they were like no other band. acdc and justin bieber should get together some time.

but kiss took it further...they were 4 members with characters and palying and singing ..they made live shows what they are today...just saw paul mecartney...he had so much pyro and fire and bombs ..the beatles did that?.NO...but kiss did...sir paul took a little from the kiss rock n roll live show..cooper was theatrical ,,kiss is theatrical and mostly pyro...so kiss was different and looked and sounded like no one else,,even today 37 years later...kiss#1.

Basic math.. Cooper started his first band in 1965. 45 years ago. When Kiss was still in puberty. Cooper paved the way for Kiss and all theatrical rock. Everything makes perfect sense , IF you think about it. Obviously you are so enamored with them clear thought is out of reach.

I got this info from a acdc interview that was on tv during the release of black ice.

@Pcriss93 that's exactly what i said, kiss was inspired by alice cooper, and the beatles and zep etc..the diff with kiss and alice cooper was that kiss had 4 members in makeup and singing and playing, like the beatles on steroids...and the fact that kiss' first 6-7 albums are classic rock and alice cooper has some good songs but generally terrible music/albums..i also saw that ac/dc was inspired by kiss in an interview..angus said although kiss was not his style , they were amazing ..kiss#1.

@Pcriss93 I never implied there was anything wrong with being inspired by Alice. To say Kiss was completely unique in their music however is a stretch. A compilation of many styles forming their own music, Yes. Completely original and all their own , not quite. I listen to both bands ( and of course Alice ) and do not deny they are both at the top of the game, but for camarobull to say Cooper had some good songs but generally terrible music/albums shows the limits of his music appreciation.

@novacaine30 oki KISS were base don potential comic book characters that KISS made themselves. influenced from alice cooper and the idea of super heroes in general. with your teory of whats original acdc is maybe 10% original. And the black sabbath thing is in a documantary call "when kiss ruled the world" and a few other sabbath and ozzy interviews.
KISS revolutionised Hard rock while acdc just followed along with the genre and you can't handle it!!
