My son. you can tell your old wives' tale to the people in Madagaskar or Tasmania, but not to an Iranian like me. Put this in your mind A) Iran has never ever had any democratic regime, till Mashrooteh we did not have even any (fake) Parliament. The Kings were barbaric rulers who never cared about the people. A king is always the opposite of a Democrasy. B) Iranians are muslims, they are 89% shia and 11% Sunni. Stop dreaming of a none islamic persians:

They were rulers of great civilizations of science, modernity, and advancement. True they were dictators but it was a different world. The fact remains Iran of 2500 years ago had more human rights of today. People were allowed to keep their language, culture, and religion. Women were treated with dignity and respect. 2) I just spent 8+ months in Iran.

@TheKoskeshtarinZiba IRANIANS are FAKE Muslims who do not pray and are not religious in vast majority and more and more are refusing to even identify themselves as Muslim and this is esp. predominant among the youth. The disdain of religion is widespread and I see a lot of atheists, Christian or Zoroastrian converts, or no religion at all. The rest believe in a god but do not pray and some may call that god allah. In practice, they are not Muslim. I also see this in the 50+ year old crowd

@TheKoskeshtarinZiba with taxi-drivers, store owners, and the 50+ year old male. A significant portion of them are atheist or anti-religious. So, no; Iranians are not real Muslims. As repeated, the only great thing this regime has done is to ensure that Islam has no future inside a free and democratic Iran. Once this regime is gone, so is the filth religion (esp. when the older generation dies out); but even among the old (like my grandparents) they disdain organized religion.

As I said, Iran may not have been a democracy but all our kings were not barbaric rulers - esp. since you have to take the time into account. Again, Iran of 2500 years ago had more human rights than Iran of today.
