I mean it's common knowledge. Fire burns Plants instantly, so if you pick bulbsaur a fucking charizard will kill you, Water puts fire out instantly, so if you choose charmander a blastoise will kick your ass,  but Leaves absorb water a little. So if you pick squirtle you'll have a kick ass blastoise against a Venusaur (Which is very suckish i might add.) and you can use skills like bite, skull Bash, Body slam, etc. against it and venusaur can't do anything about it.
