  • An amazing voice, an amazing band.

How many other metal bands could possibly pull off a song like this?

FAITH NO MORE, IF YOU'RE LISTENING, WE NEED A NEW RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am Clearly not religious, but its very evident MIKE PATTON IS GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 3:12 incredible fucking voice

  • My dad gave me this song when I was mad at him :')

  • Great cover!!! Almost as good as Herb Albert's classic version!

  • Gracias Dios por darle tu Voz a Mike Patton. :D

  • why is everyone but the drummer dressed as Jehova Witness door to door pamphleteers .oO,

  • @DuctapePenguin why even bother trying to explain

  • my friends use to make fun of me every time i played this song. calling me gay cause i like this song, and ill tell them i like song only cause Mike Patton sings it.

  • @Lordphantoma Well shit, what did they think of 'Be Aggressive'? Haha!

  • I just looked and heard this song by other groups and " No One sings it like " Mike Patton."

  • You see this girl, this girls in love with Mikeyyyyyyy.... ;)

  • Whos' the 31 losers? It's one thing if Faith no more or Mike Patton aren't your type of music but how can you not appreciate the talent here? Not just with Mikes incredible vocals but the entire band...Come on. Clearly Beiber fans you 31 idiots

  • Is there anything that Patton can't sing better than other singers who are the supposed "Kings" of there style of music. His voice is better than Freddy Mercury and that is amazing. Patton is God

  • he's got some elvis skeez on this one

  • This is better than original.. Only FNM can do a cover that's better than original!

  • I feel like I'm in the bar of a cruise ship. And I LIKE IT. Bravo, Mr. Patton.

  • @7credible you just made me crack.up. (really. i about spit out my coffee laughing)...you nailed it. i could listen to mike patton all day, esp this cover...i find it completely dreamy.

  • Its like this guy never had sining lessons. Hes got a good voice, but it needs to be trained. Or else maybe he should stop taking downers before he goes out on stage.

  • Maybe if they sped the record up to 78 RPMs it might spice it up a bit. lol.

  • The should try auditioning for "Americas Got No Talent"

  • I was searching for this song and found Mike Patton singing it and I was takin!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • Por que canta tan rico ....

  • Holy shit he CRUSHED this song.

  • @madvillain .. SHITS NOT HOLY...

  • well, just Mike Patton, no more comments needed :)

  • Wow. And he's doin' the hell out-ta' it. I remember the Herb Alpert original!

  • Awesome! Mike Patton the best! FNM!

  • I wish he would do more stuff like this, instead of what he normally does

  • I was there!

  • @sirbargearse Me too!

  • ITS HERP!!!! NOT HERB!!!

  • @llellin2l Actually it's Herb, not Herp.

  • Wonderful !!!!

  • cool cover but no horns?

    keyboards suc

    wars HERB

  • Mike Patton must be the most versatile musician on Earth!

  • Mike Patton may be the most original, creative and talented composer/performer on the scene today. certainly the hardest working. This guy has such a feel for the music he covers that allows it to come off with no hint of parody. It all sounds like an original treatment. He obviously has great respect for original songs and artists. If I was ever again in a cover band this would be the guy I'd pay, cajole, flim-flam or whatever to get him on board. An incredible talent. Nice turn on a good tune.

  • they really should do a Burt show

  • also searching for Burt, and stumbled upon this fellow. Really don't dig any of the other songs they do. However I do really dig this rendition... ... ... . . .this is your path

  • @thehoundz1 you'd probably like their cover of Lionel Ritchie's 'Easy' then...

  • Buenisima la interpretacion, incluso es mejor que la original, mike patton canta excelente

  • Blew my wife away when I played this for her then played some of Faith No More's other stuff.

  • love Mike Patton!

  • Genious

  • True art at work, long live all the real musician / writers!

  • How many of us remember our parents slow dancing to this in the living room? What a beautiful song. heavy sigh.

  • Finest latin women "busizz4me.info"

  • Faith No More just a great all around band

  • me encanta!!!!

  • Not a bad effort but did he learn it while in the toilet lol ?

  • i cant belive this song of herb alpert playing for Faith no more, but is a excelente cover!!!

  • Never meant to imply I'm a great music fan but there are thousands of groups out there that some people never hear of for one reason or the other. I try to look for new interpretations of songs by different artists. Not sure why I never heard of these guys, I just hadn't before now. But, I will pay much closer attention now. I also had never heard of Celtic Thunder, Keri Hilson, Far East Movement or hundreds of others until the internet. I am familiar with groups you have never heard of I'm sure

  • Awesome

  • how is called the instrument he plays @ 2:23

  • @Milliebest15 It's called a Melodica or Pianica. :)

  • i can´t stop repeating this song! is stuck in my head! ...and i LOVE IT!

  • shit ! leave it alone

  • 4 my queen

  • This just shows that any good singer can do any song and make it sound good. I have never heard of this band (found it by searching for the song) but think he just slammed it perfect. BTW, I wonder how many people in the crowd knew this was a Burt Bacharach/Carpenters/Herb Alpert/Mel Torme song? Wonder if they would have even cared? What a great voice and a great interpretation of this classic song.

  • @mystfinder You say this like you're some great music fan but you'd never heard of Faith No More? Bad times on your part

  • Comment removed

  • @mystfinder not just any good singer, Mike Patton can sing!

  • @mystfinder ; You stumbled on the most gifted singers ever!!!!! one Michael Patton!!! he's has covered many songs.. I would check out more of his stuff if i were you !!!! this ''stumble might just be ''fate"" to something awsome!!!

  • @mystfinder ; You stumbled on the most gifted singers ever!!!!! one Michael Patton!!! he's has covered many songs.. I would check out more of his stuff if i were you !!!! this ''stumble might just be ''fate"" to something awsome!!! is is soo underated... and talented...

  • @mystfinder see his bee gees cover of ""i started a joke"" this is the music video.. (Not starring Mike or the band) but its Faith no more anyway .. good video anyhow see this link :

  • @mystfinder yeah , this is a real good band. awesome.....

  • @mystfinder good post . it's funny to see a shirtless drummer with dreds playing burt.

  • @mystfinder how could you not know FNM?! Please educate yourself.

  • Burt Bacharach wrote this song .

  • P E R F E C T

  • crap....sorry but its nothing

  • Im sure any self-respecting fan of faith no more would say this...but i would defenitely go bisexual for mike patton:O

    beautiful voice:D

  • This song highlights Patton's vocal range perfectly!

  • @GrizzlTooth I think the same!

  • When I first saw this listed I thought it was a joke....he's got some lungs!

  • The Reels have got this cover nailed. No one else comes close.

  • @fatboy40ate

OMG, the Reels tried to ruin it for eternity.

They should have been arrested for that crime.

  • Mike is the voice god!

  • I saw Faith No More open for Billy Idol in '88 (I think lol) and while they were good, I never would have thought Mike Patton capable of (or interested in) something like this. Love it! Thanks for sharing!

  • 1:46 shivers

  • simplesmente maravilhoso

  • simply wonderful

  • I concur, much better than Noel Gallagher's version. More nuances in this version.

  • this version is the song my husband and i danced to at our wedding reception.

  • anyone who thinks this is good doesnt know what good singing is... 39s is an example. No breath control at all haha at 1.04 its even worse...he sounds like a pub singer haha

  • Well done boys you can handle soft music too....GOOOOOODDDDDDD.

    Lovely song......

  • great song, great version, great version.

there isnt old music, but good music.

this music is an invitation for love

    for all generations. antonio

  • i think i shat my oants this is a really really great fucking cover so much passion.....

  • Man I fucking love Faith No More. There's just nothing like them out there, fucking incredible.

  • sing your heart out Mike!let simon cowell hear you!

  • They have made some wierd covers during the years. But this is actually really cool. Much better than Easy that I never liked.

  • is there anything Patton can't interprete??????(except opera)

Thie man is one of the greatest musicians of the last and the new century......what he takes in hand, neither FNM, Bungle, Fantomas, Peeping Tom, the experimental "Suspended animations" or the new "Mondo Cane" is brilliant, weird, remarkable, passionate. Thanks for the vid!!

  • @tutullayt

"is there anything Patton can't interpretate??????(except opera)"

    Except Opera??!

Look for MIKE PATTON - il cupo dolore

  • @EbolaSandwich

OH!!!! Thanks for the tip! Is that from "A perfect place" or "Firecracker"? Well, not so good as my beloved opera tenors Fritz Wunderlich/Peter Seiffert......but funny. Anyhow, Patton remains m y musicgod)))

  • Man can Mike Patton belt out a song.

  • GOOD LORD what a voice!

  • Respect for this band.

  • i love the original.... wen i saw tht patton covered it i was like.... WAT????!!!!! then i heard it FUuKIN amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OH SHIT! great stuff..

  • i thought this was going to be a really crappy sounding version of this sound but it actually was really good. wow!!

  • Ótima!!!!!, mas a melhor interprete dessa mudica é Ella Fitzgerald!!!!!!!

  • I like how he sings. It is cool! :)

  • does michael allan patton have a range of vocals or what? and speaking of covering this, what about covering the beegees "i started a joke"?!!! that was awesome!

  • @drush5201 That was the Beegees? His voice is freakin awesome. He's constantly transforming it.

  • horrible version. rather listen to Noel Gallagher's

  • @themex

patton rulez, but that is just a opinion... love Noel's voice too. guess i am into extreme voices, extreme is not the word, more unique voices..

the version that Noel did is withouth any gambling, nothing special about it, he could do it if he wanted too

  • The Herb Alpert version is defintely best. Dionne Warwick , and Burt B are great also. FNM suck at this song.

  • This is a really lousy version of the song. The guy sounds like hes drunk, or on Qualudes. They should change there name to "Sing no More", because they suck ... alot...

  • come on! Herb sounds like hes drunk , definitly Mike Pattons sings better than Herbs

  • dude, you wanna say that patton sounds like he is drunk?!...he has one of the powerful voices in the world...and if you don't like this version of song, thats your problem

  • Is it the Shure Sm57 Patton is using here??? Looks to be, seems like he switched from sm58 to 57 for the AOTY tour. Nice going, cooler looking mic's anyway.Lol!

  • Classic, FNM rules.

  • this girl is in love with you Mike!

  • Mike Patton can do everything hands down.

  • lol so awesome.

  • One of my favorite covers

  • Mike Patton can nail any song!!!

  • what i do to make you mine?

i know the authors of the song

    but

it doesn't matter who wrote it and sang it for the first time.

mike patton did it.... faith no more did it...

i need music to believe, do you people know what i'm talking about?

i mean they made me believe

they do it all the time

so do Mike in every other project.

  • Thanks for answering - and correcting - my question. ^^

  • my hands are shaken

dont let my heart keep breakin cuz

    I WANT YOUR LOVE!!!!!....mike

  • @ Viewtifulmar ; "Easy Listening". Hard to imagine such a thing ever existed, especially in the 70's, which were actually dismal times. Give it up for Burt Bacharach, who wrote such exquisite pop tunes.

  • The great thing about FNM and when they do covers of these types of songs is that you can't tell if they're playing with serious conviction or just being comically satirical.

  • How is this kind of music called? (This song, not FNM in general of course)

  • More rocker and hip hop dudes should do this....try the classics.!

  • Dam, that was great.

  • ALSO A SONG CALLED TOWER OF STRENGTH freakin caps button.

  • Super cool !!!

  • i got goosebumps =)

  • He also does good stuff with the Metropole Orchestra.

  • does anyone know if he sings anything else like this? gret voice

  • I love Patton's pop renditions. There's a couple of them aside from this. "Easy" and "I Started a Joke" with Faith No More, "What The World Needs Now" with Mr. Bungle (only live) and "Simply Beautiful" with Fantomas (albeit it's not a straight cover, some Fantomas madness sneaks in). And of course, "Reunited" with Faith No More, from the reunion concerts last year.

  • @liviugahora and "Glory box" cover

  • Haha, yes, I thought about that, but it seems to belong in a different category (alongside "Zombie"), of covers of contemporary songs. The others are all "oldies" and they seem to me to be a special interest of Patton. I find that for almost all of them his voice is so much richer than the original.

  • ok I somehow agree

  • @heddage3434 search "mondo cane"

  • !!! 3:12 !!!

  • OMG- I can't believe they covered this song! What an awesome job!

  • Tenia que ser Patton... acaso hay más?

  • great fuckin song

  • holly shit! only FNM can do this!

  • it's awesome how the crowd goes crazy in a ballad like this... only with FNM.

  • I like how Mike Patton sings in opera style. Plus, this is best version of this song. Hands down.

  • f***ing awesome!

TENRECORDS - you don't know shit

  • he hits this song dead on the head.

  • last person i would have ever expected to cover this, best one I've heard (yes, better than Noel Gallagher's cover)

  • @Stevemc90 You really shouldn't be surprised. Mike Patton is all over the places with his covers... he has a really varied taste in music. Plus he's got a strange sense of humor.

  • @Stevemc90 of COURSE its better than gallaghers !!!!!

  • Does anybody know the name of that funny little keyboard he was playing ?

  • It's a melodica. Really cool instrument, I have one myself =)

  • melodica

  • patton i love you!!!

  • he does it cos he can!

  • Good version....:)

  • perfekcija.

  • was there on a working holiday at the time what a gig came on in tuxs shit hot

  • this song is for you... Hershey though many times you ignore me, its okay. i'm not worthy of your attention, but i believe you deserve someone like me..

  • Herb Alpert of the Tijuana brass and co founder of A&M records to answer your question

  • Classic!

  • super super super and it si super also

  • What a stunning performance by Mike. Considering it's live and as far as I remember it's played sometime by the end of the show, it's simply amazing.

  • and i am in love with you (Mike)..... <3

  • The shows in Brazil' were fantastic! I just hope they will continue the band! They must continue...

  • Fuck yes, this is awesome. Only came across it by chance, looking for who did the original!!! FNM!

  • FNM's Mike Patton was in Lima Peru last week???????? I wish I would have been there. Mike is un Dios!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • His voice is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
