I am 195 cm and would never fit in those seats. United Air here in the states offers Economy Plus with lots of room. I flew German Wings from London to Stuttgart. It was good for a short flight.

Also wenn alle, die kein Wasser oder nur eine Pfütze erhalten haben, in die Galley gelaufen wären, hätte der Pilot vermutlich Probleme beim Trimmen der Maschine bekommen. Davon abgesehen, mein zeitweise schlafender Sitznachbar hätte sich bestimmt bedankt, wenn ich ihm immer mal wieder über den Schoß gestiegen wäre. Leider nein. Wer IMMER den gelben Service Knopf gedrückt hat, bewirkte damit nur eines: Eine Flugbegleitungsperson kam im Sprint vorbei und löschte die Meldung wortlos. Die einzige Möglichkeit, seinen Wunsch zu äußern, wäre es gewesen, ein Handgepäckstück zum richtigen Zeitpunkt in den Gang zu legen und die Flugbegleitungsperson erst einmal am Weiterspurten zu hindern. Und Nein, wir kritisieren keine Kleinigkeiten: Thrombose wegen Dehydrirung ist keine Kleinigkeit.

When you take an economy seat, you don't pay this much. Basically you're paying the airport taxes, the fuel, and the minimum service (quick standardized service from cabin crew, rental of your seat, etc.). So yeah, I take the plane very often (in economy of course ;-) !) and well, it's not that comfy , but it's not that bad at all. And well, it's just to get you from one point on earth to another ;-).
You guys came on board and have been already decided about your coment. If you travel a bit more you would realize that this is the way it´s working with all airlines and not just Lufthansa.. This video is really funny

Wenn es zuwenig Wasser gibt, ist das in der Tat lebensbedrohlich (Thrombosegefahr). Wenn alle sich zum Selbstholen von Wasser in den Gängen rumdrücken müssen und zwar ständig, möchte ich das Chaos auch lieber nicht sehen. Und es gab wirklich KEINEN Service für Flüssigkeit. Wir übertreiben nicht.

Ja, aber was ist, wenn wegen des wirklich miesen Service alle Passagiere gezwungen sind, das zu tun, wenn sie nicht Gefahr laufen wollen, sich eine Thrombose zuzuziehen? Wir übertreiben da nicht. I also avoid flying LH since I flew with a ultra old B747 to JNB and back to FRA. There was no real entertainment system exept those big glimmering over head TV's. The service was also verry bad.
Von ZRH aus mit LH fliegen gibts gar keine Toleranz XP.... und das Bodenpersonal in PVG könnte ja auch die Töpfe etikettieren (da sie ja so oder so nur ein Handgepäck mitnehmen dürfen)
What I always enjoy are the obviously outraged comments. They fall in line with the arrogance you experience as a Lufthansa economy passenger from checkin to the cabin door at destination. I have my ideas on who may place the outraged comments.
Air France to South America was a bit chaotic, but when they really made a mistake, I was upgraded to business for a very long haul flight. Don't know whether the Arctic would melt before I would expect such a thing to happen with Lufthansa. :-)
i really think that it is dicrasefull to an airline like lufhtansa not to have personal Tv for in flight entertainment for such long flights, especially when their fairs are quite dear comparing to other european airlines.

I flew on a 747 last march on a school trip.well on the way back they cancelled our flight last minute from munich to frankfurt leading us on a wild goose chase up and down the airport to find an info desk where they put us in new flights so we don't miss our next flight in toronto. after it was a complete hell. then when we got back to Vancouver they delayed our baggage. I had to wait 3 months to get my bags back, and they also included a list in german which i don't speak of all my possesions.

Oh my gosh! I am shocked! I always thought Lufthansa was better than everyone else. No TV's in the seat backs on an 11 hour flight? No room in the overhead lockers, although the people brining all that stuff on, dishes and rice cookers should have been made to check it in. I do like the toilets downstairs though, very cool though!

To tell the truth this guy exaggerated the cons that can actually be found on Lufthansa Economy. Bag filled with electronics? Have you been caught by Zollkommando? Or didn't you know that you can fill your bottle after security? I always do that, it is legal. All in all this guy behaves like he would be Hitler's grandson or something (a bit extreme-rightist).
Everybody has the right to complain. Almost everything these guys on the video say is unfortunately TRUE! Everyone can have more water or even beer or wine if they want to. Lufthansa prices are always higher or at least as high as SQ or QF or EK prices. Just compare their facilities on economy and start to think which airline you would fly!
It is 2008, not 1988, not even 1998. Everyone expects AVOD on quality airlines, even in economy. Lufthansa is improving, too (A340-600 and A330-300 aircrafts already have a very good IFE system onboard). Unless you have a very good book, don't even think of flying on a LH a340-300 or Jumbo, though.

also ich hatte nie ein problem mit Lufthansa Economy & eigentlich immer einen angenehmen Flug! KA was ihr habt? Die beiden "Darsteller" in diesem "Dokumentarfilm" sind die typischen Deutschen (leider)...immer nur am meckern. Man bekommt bei Lufthansa immer ein volles Glas Wasser und das das Bordentertainment System in der Economy Class nicht so gut, ist wie jenes der Buisness oder First versteht sich ja von alleine. SPONWOOD05....I fly and average of four times a year to Europe from Chicago. Lufthansa has to have the most disgusting food for air travel meals. It`s barely edible. And the flight attendats, well, some are great, but I`ve encountered some nasty ones too. I like American better, or KLM. British Airways is so-so, Austrian Airlines is terrible too. I don`t care for United either.
Another note on Lufthansa meals....I flew them from Chicago to Frankfurt rountrip last year, and also flew them again two months ago, and they served the SAME disgusting food they did the year before !!!!...Chicken or vegetarian, same desset, verything was the same. Don`t they change their frikin menu ???

Lufhtansa is not that bad, but one time i did Mexico - Franfurt and they have the 747-400 with no personal lcd screen, I much more prefer to fly AeroMexico or best yet Airfrance, both of them have in the transatlantics flights personal enteirteinment system even in couch and service is one of the best!!
Lufthansa is by far one of the best airlines...And they now have in-flight entertainment on all their long haul flights...thats including the personal TVs on every seat...
This is bullshit patrick. I just arrived to Houston (USA) from Franfurt (10.5 hour flight) and the audio for the movies did not work. They did not have screens for each seat either, which makes it impossible to enjoy the movies [that are shown 5-7 meters aways on small screens]. In addition, the seats were very cramped in economy and I had this fat guy hogging 20% of my seat. Thank God he did not stink ro snore. Furthermore, the food was actually really bad. Sorry, I am an impartial observer.
yes Lufthansa is very good indeed, but little things make a big difference, the seats seemed a bit too close for comfort. but apart from that, which does not bother me, Lufthansa are a very good airline, but i much prefer Air France - KLM!! :)

auf den 4 ersten Audiokanälen ist nichts zu hören, da hier der Ton der Filme die während dem Flug abgespielt werden in 4 verschiedenens Sprachen laufen. Die Filme laufen auf Monitoren in der Kabine (dies ist zum beispiel bei Delta Air Lines genauso). Die neuen Lufthansa Sitze werden alle mit eigenem Sitzlcd ausgestalltet.
I flew with Lufthansa once, it was a 13h night flight from Singapore to Frankfurt in a 747, and my seat was stuck in the uppright position the enire time, very fun...
Me again! I had a bad LH experience last year and gave them another chance 2 weeks a go....it was a mistake on my part as LH was again terrible. I shall stick with Asian carriers in future.

from Franfurt to NewYork, I had the priveledge of sitting between a married fat couple in their 60s, yes people in the middle seat! I had to endure no entertainment body odurs and snoring and when i thought it couldnt get any worse my head set was on mute finding out that there was no audio in the cabin therefore listening to my neighbours fart and talk about their obese problems. Fly Singapore, at least they care!
lufthansa can be unfomfortable on long haul flights due to lack of entertainment, but for short flights, like on a320s there really is no better way to fly. Wide comfortable seats, lots of legoom and great snacks and refreshments.
i quiet like LH, cause, its a cheaper otpoin and sometimes the seats in economy class can be a bit uncorfortable, but now they have already fitted the new economy on A346`s and A330`S. they are fitting A343 is already fitting the new economy and not sure when they will finsh fitting the A343`s and move on to the other the fleet, but the rest of the remianing long-haul fleets will be finished by the end of 2009 , includes the
B747( you may be in luck for the new economy class),B787, B777 .
i agree the comment about the water and overhead lights was a bit overboard - but staring at bins with pillows sticking out instead of inflight entertainment on a 12 hr flight, that is atrocious. they seem to be saying more stuff than there are translations.. pots and pans lol

I'll list you some better ways to fly British Airways, Aer Lingus, Air France, Swiss International Airlines, Qantas, and Singapore Airlines. Now I'm not being funny here or anything but all these airlines have had cheaper flights from Lufthansa, better economy classes, better food, and friendlier crew. So if you want to comment with all this arrogant Bullcrap about being the best in the world, do a bit of research before you call people stupid from their personal experiences with this company.

die beste vorgeugung gegen thrombose ist bewegung! am besten wenn man zur galley läuft und sich etwas wasser holt.
sitzen und auf den knopf drücken entspricht wohl kaum adäquater thrombosevorbeugung.....
fussfaule verbinden das ganze mit dem gang zur toilette....
die knöpfe sind wirklich nur für notfälle gedacht. daher auch der sprint der kollegen. nachdem kein notfall vorhanden war, wird das licht gelöscht!

Was ich erwartet hätte, Schätzchen? Dass irgendein Passagier mehr als diese Pfütze Wasser bekommt. Um es mal ganz klar zu sagen: Für mich ist das, was die LH hier macht, versuchte Körperverletzung. Leider nein. Wer IMMER den gelben Service Knopf gedrückt hat, bewirkte damit nur eines: Eine Flugbegleitungsperson kam im Sprint vorbei und löschte die Meldung wortlos. Die einzige Möglichkeit, seinen Wunsch zu äußern, wäre es gewesen, ein Handgepäckstück zum richtigen Zeitpunkt in den Gang zu legen und die Flugbegleitungsperson erst einmal am Weiterspurten zu hindern. Und Nein, wir kritisieren keine Kleinigkeiten: Thrombose wegen Dehydrirung ist keine Kleinigkeit.

When you take an economy seat, you don't pay this much. Basically you're paying the airport taxes, the fuel, and the minimum service (quick standardized service from cabin crew, rental of your seat, etc.). So yeah, I take the plane very often (in economy of course ;-) !) and well, it's not that comfy , but it's not that bad at all. And well, it's just to get you from one point on earth to another ;-).

I had the privilege of flying Lufthansa from JFK to BLR. My god, did i pay for the mistake.
Atleast the gentleman in the vid got some water...we had to fcukin fetch it? Never expected Luft to SUCK this bad. The service was Horrendous, FA were incompetent, useless and lazy Sons of B*tches!
If their service(lack of) wouldn't make ya flip, their inflight movie will surely do!
Excuse my language... but i had to go through a very painful 35 hours of my life in their piece of shit airline.

Wenn es zuwenig Wasser gibt, ist das in der Tat lebensbedrohlich (Thrombosegefahr). Wenn alle sich zum Selbstholen von Wasser in den Gängen rumdrücken müssen und zwar ständig, möchte ich das Chaos auch lieber nicht sehen. Und es gab wirklich KEINEN Service für Flüssigkeit. Wir übertreiben nicht.

Ja, aber was ist, wenn wegen des wirklich miesen Service alle Passagiere gezwungen sind, das zu tun, wenn sie nicht Gefahr laufen wollen, sich eine Thrombose zuzuziehen? Wir übertreiben da nicht. I also avoid flying LH since I flew with a ultra old B747 to JNB and back to FRA. There was no real entertainment system exept those big glimmering over head TV's. The service was also verry bad.

What I always enjoy are the obviously outraged comments. They fall in line with the arrogance you experience as a Lufthansa economy passenger from checkin to the cabin door at destination. I have my ideas on who may place the outraged comments.
Air France to South America was a bit chaotic, but when they really made a mistake, I was upgraded to business for a very long haul flight. Don't know whether the Arctic would melt before I would expect such a thing to happen with Lufthansa. :-)

I flew on a 747 last march on a school trip.well on the way back they cancelled our flight last minute from munich to frankfurt leading us on a wild goose chase up and down the airport to find an info desk where they put us in new flights so we don't miss our next flight in toronto. after it was a complete hell. then when we got back to Vancouver they delayed our baggage. I had to wait 3 months to get my bags back, and they also included a list in german which i don't speak of all my possesions.

Oh my gosh! I am shocked! I always thought Lufthansa was better than everyone else. No TV's in the seat backs on an 11 hour flight? No room in the overhead lockers, although the people brining all that stuff on, dishes and rice cookers should have been made to check it in. I do like the toilets downstairs though, very cool though!

Everybody has the right to complain. Almost everything these guys on the video say is unfortunately TRUE! Everyone can have more water or even beer or wine if they want to. Lufthansa prices are always higher or at least as high as SQ or QF or EK prices. Just compare their facilities on economy and start to think which airline you would fly!

It is 2008, not 1988, not even 1998. Everyone expects AVOD on quality airlines, even in economy. Lufthansa is improving, too (A340-600 and A330-300 aircrafts already have a very good IFE system onboard). Unless you have a very good book, don't even think of flying on a LH a340-300 or Jumbo, though.

Die beiden "Darsteller" in diesem "Dokumentarfilm" sind die typischen Deutschen (leider)...immer nur am meckern. Man bekommt bei Lufthansa immer ein volles Glas Wasser und das das Bordentertainment System in der Economy Class nicht so gut, ist wie jenes der Buisness oder First versteht sich ja von alleine. Man kann in der Economy nicht erwarten das jeder Sitz einen eigenen Fernseher hat. Wenn man so etwas benötigt muss man halt in die Buisness/First Class gehen. IHR SEID EINFACH NUR PEINLICH!!!

SPONWOOD05....I fly and average of four times a year to Europe from Chicago. Lufthansa has to have the most disgusting food for air travel meals. It`s barely edible. And the flight attendats, well, some are great, but I`ve encountered some nasty ones too. I like American better, or KLM. British Airways is so-so, Austrian Airlines is terrible too. I don`t care for United either.

Lufhtansa is not that bad, but one time i did Mexico - Franfurt and they have the 747-400 with no personal lcd screen, I much more prefer to fly AeroMexico or best yet Airfrance, both of them have in the transatlantics flights personal enteirteinment system even in couch and service is one of the best!!

Lufthansa is by far one of the best airlines...And they now have in-flight entertainment on all their long haul flights...thats including the personal TVs on every seat...

This is bullshit patrick. I just arrived to Houston (USA) from Franfurt (10.5 hour flight) and the audio for the movies did not work. They did not have screens for each seat either, which makes it impossible to enjoy the movies [that are shown 5-7 meters aways on small screens]. In addition, the seats were very cramped in economy and I had this fat guy hogging 20% of my seat. Thank God he did not stink ro snore. Furthermore, the food was actually really bad. Sorry, I am an impartial observer.

yes Lufthansa is very good indeed, but little things make a big difference, the seats seemed a bit too close for comfort. but apart from that, which does not bother me, Lufthansa are a very good airline, but i much prefer Air France - KLM!! :)

auf den 4 ersten Audiokanälen ist nichts zu hören, da hier der Ton der Filme die während dem Flug abgespielt werden in 4 verschiedenens Sprachen laufen. Die Filme laufen auf Monitoren in der Kabine (dies ist zum beispiel bei Delta Air Lines genauso). Die neuen Lufthansa Sitze werden alle mit eigenem Sitzlcd ausgestalltet.

I flew with Lufthansa once, it was a 13h night flight from Singapore to Frankfurt in a 747, and my seat was stuck in the uppright position the enire time, very fun...

The 747-400 might just get PTV's and the revised Economy class seats. Probably on the newer ones. The 747-8i will get PTV's by default.

Me again! I had a bad LH experience last year and gave them another chance 2 weeks a go....it was a mistake on my part as LH was again terrible. I shall stick with Asian carriers in future.

Thank you very much for your opinion. So I am a F.A. Just saying in my position:you are right with the entertainment pogram at the 747. All the new airplanes have an inseat e. system now.
Our service is great and if your would have asked i would give you a whole 1 litre bollte immediately. I would always find a place to store your baggage.And this with a smile. Sorry that you had a bad experience.

from Franfurt to NewYork, I had the priveledge of sitting between a married fat couple in their 60s, yes people in the middle seat! I had to endure no entertainment body odurs and snoring and when i thought it couldnt get any worse my head set was on mute finding out that there was no audio in the cabin therefore listening to my neighbours fart and talk about their obese problems. Fly Singapore, at least they care!

lufthansa can be unfomfortable on long haul flights due to lack of entertainment, but for short flights, like on a320s there really is no better way to fly. Wide comfortable seats, lots of legoom and great snacks and refreshments.

i quiet like LH, cause, its a cheaper otpoin and sometimes the seats in economy class can be a bit uncorfortable, but now they have already fitted the new economy on A346`s and A330`S. they are fitting A343 is already fitting the new economy and not sure when they will finsh fitting the A343`s and move on to the other the fleet, but the rest of the remianing long-haul fleets will be finished by the end of 2009 , includes the
B747( you may be in luck for the new economy class),B787, B777 .

i agree the comment about the water and overhead lights was a bit overboard - but staring at bins with pillows sticking out instead of inflight entertainment on a 12 hr flight, that is atrocious. they seem to be saying more stuff than there are translations.. pots and pans lol

I'll list you some better ways to fly British Airways, Aer Lingus, Air France, Swiss International Airlines, Qantas, and Singapore Airlines. Now I'm not being funny here or anything but all these airlines have had cheaper flights from Lufthansa, better economy classes, better food, and friendlier crew. So if you want to comment with all this arrogant Bullcrap about being the best in the world, do a bit of research before you call people stupid from their personal experiences with this company.

British airwaysss???Oh my god..yeah right.AER LINGUSSSS???Swiss yes I agree. What I really mean here is that this guy is totally wrong about Lufthansa cause things are not so bad as he shows them. Everybody has good and bad experiences with all airlines.Lufthansa is a 4 star airline meanwhile Singapore, Thai, Qantas, Emirates are 5 stars so I am not gonna make a compare. Regarding Lufthansa I strongly believe that is one pride for Europe and for Germany!Germans rock on everything!!!
