  • Post War America :

    Ten cent burgers n Cadillacs

Jazz , Jimmy Dean n Kerouac

  • I utubed McDonalds commercial and James Dean in the hopes that i could see this ad. Easily the best and most effective ad i've ever seen. So subtle and beautiful.

  • I know the young man in the video, he is a most versatile and talented guy.

His talent is natural.....His name is Travis

  • Someone please tell me the name of this song.

  • Rock On by David Essex

  • James Dean is quite possibly the hottest actor ever. And the fact that "he" eats McDonald's makes me love him (and McDonald's) even more. I suddenly want a hamburger.

  • Marketing in action.

  • This Commercial is Awesome...

Love how he looks at the girl with the suitcase...

  • "This Commercial is Awesome...

Love how he looks at the girl with the suitcase... " - rec

Uh, thats supposed to be one Norma Jean Baker , fresh off the bus. : )

  • how do you know it was Norma Jean ??

  • deliberately went and bought a cheeseburger at Macdonald's and walked down the street with this song playing in my head. shows how advertisements still work after the ad has been taken off the air.

  • Hey, this is my brother and I am so proud of him. I was little when he made this commercial and when he returned from Australia he brought me back a Stuffed Koala bear,(my fav animal) He is a great actor and person. Very caring and I am lucky to call him my brother. Keep your head focused, you are a great deal of talent. Love-Tash

  • Portraying Jimmy after 16yrs was agreat feelinh the reponse from the Audience was tremendous roughly 5000 people. Having that many screaming and cheering for you was a rush not to mention all the great people I met especially one in particular

  • Hey jro1489 he is "way hot" both in and out of this commercial! I must add that he also "way hot" in bed!!!!!!! Trust me I know :)

  • hey noonetfan.......lol wow u know the actor?

good for you hun :). Great commercial! xxxxxxx

  • wow I love this ad the first time i saw it.....actual thought it james dean for a minute there. The actor that portrays jimmy dean is way hot!!! and very cute "giggles" lol he really looks like jimmy dean. this is proberley one of my fav commercials.

  • I am the Actor the experience is one I will never forget. I have not portrayed Jimmy since the commercial was filmed. Though this is the year I will return to Fairmount IN. to celebrate the life of Jimmy. In fact I will be entering the look a like contest. I want to thank everyone for their compliments. Paul who was thw Director and visionary deserves all the Credit. He will be missed. Best Wishes Travis....

  • I was at the James Dean Festival last weekend and watched the look-alike contest. Congrats on winning Travis!

  • I am the Actor in response to scarfing dowm te burger in total I ate 8 burgers of which zero stayeddown. The experience was one of a kind I havee not portrayed Jimmy since this commercial was completed however I will be in Fairmount IN the end of september competing in the look a like costume. I was 19 when I did this commercial. Thanks for the great comments Travis....

  • who is this actor he looks just like james dean, amazeing ad.i love it

  • who is the actor ?

  • Awesome ad!

  • omg the guy looks so much like him

  • he look identicle almosyt wow at first i thoguth it was him and i was liek now that wouldn't make sense

  • Post War America : ten cent burgers , Jazz, Cadillacs , Kerouac. And Jimmy Dean.

  • One of the few ads I used to look forward to seeing on telly.

  • Cool advert.

  • gees he's scoffing down that burger like there's no tomorrow

  • Travis Feldman in search of Zeus

  • Best add ever made... thats for sure.

  • Best Big Mac commercial!! I could just see Dean going to a McDonalds- as he frequently rode his motorcycle to burger drive-ins while in Hollywood in the mid '50s(to hang with other rising stars). The commercial actor even eats like him(lol), wolfing the burger down.

  • anyone remember the one with a Marilyn Monroe look alike , sung to Elton Johns Candle in the Wind , the actress was only allowed to take 1 fry

  • man i been looking for this ad since it came out in the mid to late 90's! big fan of James Dean...Im with Cletusville, Maccas should commission this back in again!!

  • Saw this on a show reel today for the first time in about 15 years. Still a great ad. Why can't Maccas commission something like this instead of the crap they pass up nowadays?

  • Awesome commercial! I've been waiting to see this for years. The guy in the video is my cousin Travis Feldman. He was born in Bourbon Indiana and grew up in South Bend. He's hilarious!

  • I was right! Give him my regards...

  • Your cousin has the James Dean act down perfect- he even eats like him! I read in a Dean bio. how he would "wolf down" his meal while on a lunch break while making a film or at a drive-in. He probally picked up the habit early while a struggling actor-sometimes going a couple days without a decent meal.

  • mmm lecker... :)

  • OMG! I have been after this for ages. I remember watching it on TV as a kid. It remains one of the best tv ads of all time! Thanks for posting!

  • i think this is a cool video. cool song and cool man

  • Another Paul Jones ad that they didn't get a clearance for: The Estate Of James Dean sued, won and the ad was pulled from air. Pity - it was a great spot. David Denneen directed.

  • Post War America : ten cent burgers , Jazz, Cadillacs , Kerouac. And Jimmy Dean.

  • Does anyone know what song that is and who sings it?

  • It's "Rock On" by David Essex - Reached No. 4 (If my memory serves me correctly) in UK during August 1973

  • Rock On by David Essex, this was a great commercial , filmed in Sydney Australia , he is walking down George St heading South ....

  • As a JDean junkie, that was extremely cool. anyone know who played Jimmy?

  • We understand that it was a 19 year old guy from Indiana, USA (the ad was Australian made). It just so happened that he was also an a assistant manager at McDonald's. Hope this helps. It's an awesome ad.

  • The bloke's name was Travis, he was 20, and indeed from Indiana. The ad came out in the early 1990s. It was filmed in Sydney. One mistake (you won't notice on Youtube) is a contemporary Telecom Australia metal grate on the footpath!

  • If he was just some kid from Indiana, then my guess is that he entered the James Dean lookalike contest held every year in Fairmount, during the James Dean Festival...?

  • Yep- can't remember his name off the bat, but he won several years at the "James Dean Look Alike Contests" held in Fairmount, IN several years back. And he was a young McDonald's manager at the time.

  • that really does look like james

  • this video was eally good...its not just james dean in this vid though huh? im pretty sure theres other lookalikes darted around...does anyone know the actor playing jimmy dean in this?

  • holy shit! Thats awesome! looks like jim so much!

  • yep sure does. NO no cgi. was a look alike and some great lighting work. also the total creative mood of the ad builds the picture. this ad and subsequent Mac Time campaign doubled McDonalds business in Australia.

  • holy shit that really does look like james dean. unless it was cgi

  • No and the scary part is I still look the same Travis

  • No not so true, James Dean will always look the same. I heard some people think Jimmy D was gay

  • He was bi-sexual. He was all about experiencing everything he could(including sex)which was taboo at the time(1950's). Most of the same-sex relationships though were of an "opportunistic" nature- to secure film/TV parts or money. But who really cares-he was a great actor & now an Americon icon.

  • James Dean was from Indiana, so was Steve McQueen, I think it's the birthplace of the "cool" factor ;-)

  • It's the corn Travis

  • That he looks just like James Dean.

  • James Dean's Clone!

  • hi

    What does that mean?
