I need help :( i only know how to use watercolor brush and i don't know how to do the shading and all that stuff i hope someone can help ( I just started painting ((using open canvas)) and i am totally NOOB at it T.T )

So do you make everything on an individual layer? Like the eyes and shirt and stuff? I ordered the Bamboo pen yesterday and am trying to figure out how people do this kind of stuff.

@SkullKrusherDX yes i use a separate layer for everything i colour in.. even the shades usually have their own layers, hope it helps

@antikv2007 it really doesnt matter how many layers you use, it's totally up to the artist.. but because i use a separate layer for all colours and different areas of the picture, i usually end up with 20-30 layers. however, i should mention that i continuously merge all layers and create new ones until the picture is finished.. sometimes i have only ONE layer and draw everything on that single layer to improve my ability.. you should try it too for your own practive ! hope it helps (:

wow! I found this cause i was gonna buy the wacom bamboo pen and touch! I wanted to know if it was good... im on deviantart but have only been submitting scetches and i figured i could try something better! After all the reviews, tutorials and videos, i think this speed draw convinced me it's completely worth it..... though you still draw wayyyy better than me ;)

Great picture. I found this actually because I wanted to get the Bamboo Pen & Touch but I wasn't sure of it's actual capabilities. I'm just a casual artist and I want a cheap but decent/good Tablet.

I guess in short, would you recommend the Tablet? Pros and cons I suppose. I'm asking because you seem pretty talented and the picture did come out pretty good using it, but was it more of a hassle than good?

@SieRobin thanks a lot for your comment & your question ! i really do recommend this tablet to anyone who's looking for a very easy to use, good quality and cheap graphic tablet.. to be honest i haven't found anything bad about this tablet so far.. but i can tell you that the configurable express keys in general are more than just useful because they allow you to have great access to different functions.. you will be more than satisfied if you buy this amazing tablet.. (:

1.) When you buy the Wacom Pen and Touch tablet, does it come with a drawing software? I'm just wondering because in some review they say that it comes with a software disc, but I just want to make sure.

2.) It's my first time buying a tablet, so is this a good tablet to start with?

@gabrielajocson hey gabriela, thank you so much for your feedback ! the pen and touch tablet is definitely the perfect tablet to start with, although there are many other cheaper tablets that would be suitable for beginners.. but because i haven't tried the others out myself, i would recommend the pen & touch.. and yes it does come with TWO softwares actually: photoshop elements and the nikon color efex pro software, those 2 are already worth min. 130 bucks, so its definitely worth getting it !

@SieRobin It doesnt matter what tablet you use. It's how you use it. No expensive tablet will make you draw better. It's the skill you already have that matters.

@cutesaltywaffles hey, thanks for asking (: there is no difference between CS4 and CS5, the only difference is that there are much more functions and brush types, thats about it (: but i'd still go for CS5

How did you manage on drawing your work with a fixed view like that?

Coz I also use pen and touch but I always zoom in and zoom out several times just to make the strokes perfect (especially at the beginning when making the gesture lines) any tips on how to maintain a 100% view of your work while getting those perfect strokes? Coz mine always look shabby especially if you're not focused on the whole picture while working zoomed in on a specific spot.

can you please tell me how i can record the things i do on my wacom tablet? I have cintyc, but i don't know how to record the stuff i draw on it with camcasia :( Pleeease help! T___T

run Camtasia Recorder, select the area you wish to record (for example Full Screen), and simply click on the red REC button on the right to record the screen. once you're done you can either right click on the Camtasia Recorder icon in your Notification Area and click Stop or stop the recording by pressing Ctrl + F10

well it should give you two options, Full Screen and Custom, just click on Custom, then click on Select, right next to it.. and make your selection
