  • I like how each play is in a form of animation. Each one of the animated plays are different then the other, most to set the mood of play,. Hamlet, is given more a dark and macabre setting, A midsummer night dream is more colourful and cheerful, and Romeo and Juliet, colourful, romantic and erotic.

  • When was this originally shown on TV?

  • This and the animated version of Richard III were brilliant. I personally find Russian animation to be far too underrated as a pose to the overplayed Japanese crap. This is art.

  • Ok "Dragonslayer" lol stop being such a little bitch

  • @rocky1556 Why the piss should I? You started this childish arguement.

  • HEY HEY HEY GUESS WHAT? GUESS WHAT? the lion king has the same storyline as this! disney are lazy!!

  • @TheSpearmintRhino9 Disney is lazy!

  • worst thing i have ever scene ....

  • @rocky1556 you think so? that may be becausa you do not appreciate classical arts --'

  • @lukenamelock stfu and stop trolling. seriously people like you need to GTFO the internet

  • @rocky1556 actually, it is the other way around. first of all, why did you watch this? to troll in the comments about 'how bad it is'? and luke is just saying you should give a little respect to this classic tale of shakespeare. people, like YOU, need to GTFO of the PLANET.

  • @FOUNTAIN228 you just don't know what real culture is. I feel sorry for you.

  • @FOUNTAIN228 You fucking retarded, should be killed for extreme stupidity

  • They are giving no pity to the Queen; kind of makes me angry....

  • Thanks for uploading these, absolutely superb series.

  • Man, I loved Shakespeare Animated when I was a kid! They used to show it at Discovery Kids back then in my country. I loved the animation techniques used, although the one used here and in Richard III that reminded moving paintings was my favorite :).

  • Hamlet is my favorite of the series thus far.

  • Shakespeare the only guy that compares to Tolkien, or vice versa

  • geez this is more creepy then i expected

  • if u wanna see REAL good animation in hamlet play mabinogi. u can actually play through the tragedy of hamlet in it and the characters look rly good in it

  • Wow

    This is Dope.

  • 5HWb!!!!!!!!!

  • 5HWb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hamlet walked like a angry ghost lols

  • It's like old renaisance paintings put in motion. This is awesome.

  • Ophelia is voiced by the White Witch

  • 4:54 a mideval dark vador!

  • This is a surprisingly good condensation of the text!

  • The ghost's voice sounds a bit like that of the Violator in the Spawn cartoon.

  • This is the best installment of the BBC collection. The speaking is good, the animation is dark and stylistic, and the screenplay is really well done.

  • How old is this? I think I watched this when I was a kid (I was really into Shakespeare, the Tempest and King Lear being my favorites).

  • Hey if i watch this i don't have to read the book for my exam right?

  • I've never seen it before, but I have wished to see it in a long time.. Finally, I'll get the story :) thank you for posting it

  • How old is this movie please?:-)

  • HBO aired these back in the day. I have it recorded on VHS somewhere. These were awesome. Hamlet is my favorite play, and this animation only cements my love for the play even more so.

This glass-animation is truly spectacular and fits the haunting theme of Hamlet's gloomy atmosphere.

Thank you for posting this : )

  • Oh my loved this when I was younger :) Made me so scared and sad, but still watched it over and over again.

  • the voice of the spirit was cool.

  • poor inbred xD

  • This is pretty awesome, but I think Nick Farrell's voice is the only one really worth listening to... D: The others seem to do ham-acting on purpose. O_O But thanks so much for posting!

  • the ghost of the kings spirit is creeping me out! The voice... OMG, this is honestly fantastic. The play of course, but also the animation! MY god. It... it's just a wow moment

  • @xscareddemonx learn how to color noobs. Please learn how to draw from the koreans and the japanese cartoon.

  • Okay, it's not the best but it suits the mood and it's not all crap. Do you think that if it had been colored and painted as an anime would have made it better? I don't think so

  • @AndThenAndThe lol, manga sucks balls

  • it dose :)

  • i wish the animation was better!

  • Thanks !

I was looking for somthing like this !

  • excelente, muchas gracias.

  • Ghost voice looks like darth vader in star wars

  • why would a dane say adieu

  • yo this ghost voice ... fuckin creepy !

  • i love this story.. i just cant understand what theyre saying

  • Dude, yes! Thank you, thank you!

This is much, much shorter than the book X)

  • Short, sweet, and to the point

  • My second favorite Shakespeare play. The animation is oddly hypnotic. There aren't many moving frames, but it still has a certain quality to it. I just wish the character's faces were more expressive.

  • @Marichan221 I think it works better to minimise the window and just listen to the audio like a radio play.

  • @Marichan221 What's your favorite?

  • @Marichan221 did shake spear wrote faust

  • no wait, the other half fell asleep

  • i watched it at skool. half my english class were freaked out at the gost part. The other half just talked.
