  • I love fights like this...most of us aren't TKD/Karate/Kung Fu/Jeet Kune Do trained, and don't go around over-rotating in order to strike people.

This is just a pure slobberknocker...the guy who manages to accumulate more successful punches will inevitably wind up the winner. The other guy...is likely taking a nap for half an hour or so! ;)

  • @andell1 You got that right. Fights like these were very realistic and required good co-ordination. Dennis Waterman was a natural fighter because his brother had been a boxing champion so he learned a few tricks from him. You should also see Dennis fight in The Sweeney, the show he did before Minder. In the first few series of that, he had quite a few rucks. The Professionals, another UK action show, had a bit more martial arts in.

  • The face is harder than the fist. Most pros elbow punch....ask Bas..

  • @flipinwotsit Elbow punching is common in Muay Thai kickboxing.

  • You said it! On the Minder lounge, a poster commented on the way he moved and punched, saying that he made Martin Shaw's fighting in The Pros laughable 8O. Unfair, isn't it? Martin could throw a mean punch, too, and was trained in kendo and karate.

  • Dennis's fighting skills really are top!

  • ATTABOY, TEL, MY SON!!!
