There were people who lived in their house boats at snug harbor- kids I played with every weekend. We used the fairy in our car to cross over to Snug, these were the best days of my childhood, look what happens :( I'm so devestated after seeing this. My grandpa was best friends with the owner :(
It looked as if the owner was in the process of fixing the boat. Pumps were running while we were there. Most of the harbour was in good condition, this was just the very end of the lagoon. Cool place. Didn't want to devestate!
Thanks Ontheroads5...from what I saw in your video, it looked like the water had evaporated and that the boats were on mud...there is more to this history than my grandpa's boat- he lived on the Sac river when he was a kid, his dad was a telegrapher for the rr station there in a town that doesn't exist anymore called "Brighton" Thanks for posting this video
@kimmarie801 Reading that BRIGHTON didnt exist anymore made me jump outta my drivers seat. I Just made a Delivery there a few months ago. An oversize load , construction equiptment. Brighton is by Bakersfield. Check it out on Google earth.
His boat looks like one of them on the left...I have a picture of it right there at snug harbour I should let you see. My dad filmed my grandpa in the boat in a soda commercial when he worked for Channel 3. A big history here
I use to go to snug harbor when I was a kid. My grandpa owned a boat there- named her "Kim" after me. We took that boat for rides, my grandpa went fishing with the boys, always caughts lots of catfish, he bbqed and sang in a barber quartet. There was a bar, it was good times and clean water- I swam in it. This makes me cry
Interesting how things get started. That's not the Minnow.
