  • Jesus is not sayig the kingdom IS YEAST, Jesus says THE YEAST of Pharisees is bad- THE YEAST, but here it is not saying "the yeast of the kingdom"... it says it is LIKE yeast.

Jesus is talking about the effect it causes. The effect is similar. The kingdom changes earth. yeast changes dough.

REMEMBER: the kingdom is not yeast, it is LIKE yeast

THe doctrine of the pharisees IS yeast!

  • I like Dr. Myles Munroe, and he has some profound messages, but on this particular subject of yeast, He is not correct. Yeast, in the Bible, is NEVER used as a GOOD thing. The scripture he gave is referring to ISRAEL, and the YEAST is a symbol of sin. That's why Jesus often says "beware the YEAST of the Pharisees and of Herod." Yeast corrupts by puffing up.

So I agree with his exhortation to evangelize, but he used a bad symbol.

  • There is one place where Jesus compares que kingdom with east in a very good way

  • @pedro10medina: You'd have to show me that, because He was always talking to Israel, and they knew EXACTLY what the reference to yeast was.

  • "Again he asked, 'What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough.' " (Luke 13:20-21)

in this rare case, Jesus compares the kingdom to yeast, referring to its influence in the world..once the Kingdom(yeast) is mixed with the world(dough), the influence of the kingdom changes the world.

    God bless you brother

  • @pleonrhyme: Thanks for sharing that. That was the scripture I knew about. But again, THAT scripture was not speaking of anything good. And for a couple of reasons: a) it speaks of woman HIDING yeast in the dough. It specifically uses the word "HID." Hiding something is normally done to deceive someone, or withhold something from someone. Not good. b) LEAVEN (and correct me if i'm wrong) is NEVER found in the Bible as anything good. Hence, the feast of Unleavened Bread.

  • I'm not being contentious or argumentative, but informative. Many people have that scripture misinterpreted. And Jesus was showing Israel how they had erred.

  • wonderful.

  • "The Kingdom of Heaven is near."

  • This is more powerful than I know.

  • thanks so much for the revelation

  • Thanks for posting!
