  • what a friggin' awesome band. Man this brings back memories.

  • @ppppccs No problem!

  • Wauwwwwww thanks en ja deze muziek ben ik wel ook dol op dank je voor het doorsturen xxxxxjes Bo

  • @ppppccs The truest line in the whole song is - we were younger then and the days were long and slow.

I am 45 now and the years seem to whizz by, i think it is inevitable that people sometimes look back to their youth and yearn to go back. However I am now more content with myself now than I was then so life isn't too bad. All the best.

  • @ppppccs In the real world, how will it be?

In a cold, cold world, how will it be?

Beck and call, beg and crawl, how will it be?

Will the ghosts just stop following

Got this from Chamelons. com and it has got both of them just to add to the confusion!

  • Raindropps keep falling off my head.Never thought that memories can be so hard. This band makes me feel 20 again. In a lonely world how would it be. Now years later with a family i see back over my shoulder and have no regret of everything I have done Yhanks for the beautiful songs you made.................

  • ChameleonsVox is Mark Burgess, bassist, lead vocalist and principle songwriter with 80’s Manchester band ‘The Chameleons’ (UK), backed by a loose collection of musicians currently spanning two continents. ChameleonsVox is a vehicle for the perpetual performance of ‘Chameleons’ material by people who have a deep passion for the music and a desire to keep the music alive in the wake of the original band’s demise in 2003. ChameleonsVox continues in 2011 and 2012. WEBSITE ChameleonsVox.co.uk

  • @cookie211270 Long live Chameleons music

  • I loved this band so much. . . Haven't heard them in years!! I still have the Strange Times record that's been untouched in storage for close to eighteen years. I miss the music from this era. It was so much more intricate and interesting than the processed music of today.

  • @laurinpenn They have reformed and are now called ChameleonsVox and are gigging again. Check their website out .chameleonsvox.co.uk. Mark Burgess is also on Facebook. I went to see them in December, AMAZING!!!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • ang sarap talaga makarinig ng 80's song nkk relax feeling i'm in the good mood everyday

  • @obet966 Wish The chameleons could gig the Philippines!!

  • I'm 46 and back in the 80s i considered my knowledge of music to be right up there, yet somehow this band slipped by me, i feel like i've just found an out of date jackpot winning lottery ticket, in any decade you care to mention this song should have been number one

  • Why wasn't this band more popular?

This song brings back a lot of memories.

  • i saw them in "rock im park" in essen in 1984 !

    what an amazing band !

since i'm a great fan of the chameleons...

and i recently found a dvd live show...!

one of the best bands from the eighties !

  • (Strange times) and yet the greatest times..the 80s

  • more power to Mark Burgees

  • Très belle musique

  • Let me guess, you're in your late 30s? Cheers!

  • And so I remember you, I remember the days and the thousands of ways you pulled me though

  • BEAUTIFUL song.

  • one of the greatest songs of all time surely

  • finally i found it,thank you so much.

  • Man I love their cover art. If I'm not mistaken their guitarist Reg Smithies did all of their artwork.

  • Comment removed

  • @manus211 Yes Reg Smithies did all the art work, he was in art school along with Dave Fielding,

  • i remember buying this album it had just come out, rushing home on the bus from town ,(i was 15) getting my record player on , and not coming out me bed room all week end !!! must of played it 8 10 12 times back to back !!! awesome group !!!!

  • they're on tour in Europe, so exited! Berlin Jan 26th...

  • I kind of hated this song at first. Being the hard edged Postpunk fan I was, I found this too mellow. But now it remembers me how much I love my first true girlfriend. A girl I've felt feelings for even before I took them seriously.

Makes me want to cry of happiness, and thats never happened to me before.

Great song, by a great band!

  • ...will the ghosts just stop following me?? Truer words have yet to spoken by the troubled. I kind of like the other version a bit better, which got a lot of play on WFNX, but both have their strong points other than the amazing lyric.

  • Brilliant, ace. The original album has a purple-ish background, that is before CD`S took off. amazing album. Mad Jacks Eyes, for me.

  • Fookin love this

  • Excelente ese tema,me transporta a mi adolescencia!!!!!!

  • This song is one of the most memorable for me just after I graduated from High School in 88. It still reminds me of the way I felt in those days. I was 18 and Free, I felt I had no cares in the world and I could do what ever I wanted when I listened to this song. I miss those days so much and wish the World was that way again

  • Best song evaaaaaar!

  • i like the song so much it reminds me of my ex girlfriend LOL

  • great song of new wave era

  • So beautiful!!!! Reminds me of my younger days.

  • How will it be....? Not anything close to what is was in the 80's. That's for sure. You don't know what you got until it's no loner there. That was when music was music..

  • I meant... soulja boy my swag is on... either way all the new pop songs are kinda *cough* bad *cough*

  • Tak, where r u?:))=

  • @f2previewers Its so nice to see someone young as you that enjoys this type of music. Awesome!!!!

  • The Chameleons were quite possibly the best kept secret from the 80's. My college days would have been incomplete without them.

  • great new wave band....

  • great tune from the greatest decade of all - The 80's - the era of feel good music

thanks for sharing this gem! ;-)

  • husay mo pre...thank u for posting rare new wave songs

  • The whole album (yes, I'm showing my age) is just as good, just flows beautifully, I often return to it when I'm feeling melancholy. I see some dates posted for the Netherlands. Is it the same band now? Hard to tell from the web site. Hell, it'd be worth a flight from the States.

  • I love the sound of this song... great richness they had in their songs.

  • Great song, great band, great memories....

  • I still love hearing my dad tell me about this band's mad gigs

  • @AidanMusik Sounds like you've got a great dad!

  • @AidanMusik i wanna datee him then hahaha tellur dad he is fabbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb times N . .just like the band XXX

  • new wave forever...xb 102.7!!!

  • This band, The Chameleons UK, along with other bands (The Smiths, The Cure, Gene, Ride, Catherine Wheel, Steve Taylor, Keith Green) were huge influences in inspiring me to write songs on keyboard and record them, for both Out of the Wilderness and Dumpster Diver ... the Musical.

  • nice to know new wave music still bring chills to our spines... long live XB listeners... dares to be different..

  • wow

  • AMAZING...

  • mabuhay XB

  • grabe mandaluyong boy!!!how young are you??this became popular during my HS years..im quite old but my choice of music is cool..cant compare this with the kind of music now..thanx for uploading..

  • please... it brings me tear... wanna get back to those days...

  • One of my favorite songs and albums of all time ever. I was lucky to grow in the San Francisco Bay Area being exposed to awesome music throughout the 80's by radio stations KQAK and KITS. Today's radio music SUCKS and has sucked for a very long time which is why I still continue to mostly listen to underground techno and house. Heh...

  • Not too many songs can hit me as deeply and as powerfully as this one. Tears holds very personal memories of people and times long gone past. I have listened to The Chameleons and this song for well over 20 years and even to this day, their lustre is as gleaming as the first time I ever heard them.

  • @AdamCoffin13

exactly the same as you, sorry for such an imaginative comment but it puts it in a nutshell, bang on it !

  • @kerdubennak - yes, amazing song...amazing band...timeless..

  • The best talaga ang new wave paki post naman yun Soft as yor face by The Soup Dragon. Thanks

  • i love this song

  • It's been so hot today I could barely move. Plus I feel like shit. Now I'm gonna roll a fat one and listen to this and med out

  • Que musica .impresionantes guitarras

  • Absolutely superb

  • Saw this fine band on Landsdown Street in about 87/88 in Boston. About the same time World Party played there. Ice Tea played there about that time too.

  • one of the best songs

  • i remember my cousin Emilio who introduce WXB 102, our friends call us weirdos hehehehe!

  • you had to be in the right place at the right time to be lucky enough to embrace the magical genius of mark burgess i was lucky enough to see the chamelleons uk live at the astoria twice in the 80s fuckin awesum ...................

  • i really adore this song san ba meron karaoke version nito?

  • I still hate you Cathy Lucantonio!

  • Remembering WXB 102 The station that dares to be different not NU 107 that sucks!!!!!!

  • What the hell peeps are commenting that the NEW WAVE genre wasn't the best era at that time(the 80's) I grew up with this and it's fucking COOL, man i tell you

  • @ramonquines This is classified as "Post Punk" or Industrial. New Wave was a mix of Disco and glam. It is an insult to even call this "New Wave".

  • I'm impressed that they played this in the Philippines! I beg to differ with some of the comments that American radio stations did not play cool music back then, but this song did have some airplay here in San Diego. 91X rules!!!

  • Remembering NU107 FM....parang kelan lang yun ahh....

  • Perfect!

  • I remember playing this song back in the days when I was a DJ here in Los Angeles.. it used to rock the house.. The crowd would go crazy with this song..

  • Roothands: "Never judge a book (or an album in this case) by it's cover.."

  • Funny how radio stations in 3rd countries were awesome compared to say the ones in the states. You heard the Chams on these radio stations regularly.

  • These 3rd-world countries that you are talking about appreciated these kinds of music. This was real music was all about, not these trash music that were hearing today in the US...

  • I love this band, but if I was just judging them based on their album covers in the store, I'd probably just dismiss them as crappy prog rock or something

  • I once saw a guy piss on Mark Burgess' leg at a gig in Birmingham. Fucking hilarious.

  • @shadowkunt In the bathroom area or to pick a fight with him?

  • my anthem!!!! since college days up to now...just amazing song...the 80s the music..the band...the chameleons....

  • I don't understand the modern jargon expressed in many of these comments. I've not heard this song since I donated my copy of this (and Swamp Thing) to Dane Bank college's juke box all those years ago.

  • This is not a jargon you are hearing, these people are talking in Tagalog, which is the dominating language here in Metropolitan Manila, Philippines. Because i tell you, this song was popular here in Metro Manila, Philippines....

  • Nice pare brings back my HS days ....

  • simply amazing...college days...disco rules...but new wave pa rin...this song aaaah....in live with it...80s magic!

  • the chameleon's signature song

  • ....I can remember wxb the moment I heard those songs.... like this!!!!

  • Back in the 80s i remember this song was played during the morning. And whenver u hear it during that time u know it came from XB.Only a number of people appreciated it since the music was so experimental and yet enchanting. and i was 1 of them i still do up to now..

  • mid 1980's ko lang narinig yung mga new wave songs..

  • Ako rin, nung 1987 ko lang naririnig yan eh...

  • i am listen still ,,,,,,,

  • May new wave songs pa ba sa 89DMZ every sunday? ? I had so many new wave cd's collected through cd warehouse when I'm in Manila.

  • Sa Mellow at 95.5 RT mayron sila pag Sunday

  • U.E.MANILA HIGHSCHOOL DAYS...to gagalangin,TONDO...THEN TO FRISCO Q.C...SOLVED-SOLVED TALAGA!

  • The best band from that island in the 80's. Shame it all went away.........

  • @Rivermanga ,

It did not all go away. These guys have a legion of fans..here on Youtube, and elsewhere!

Back when radio was truely controled by just a few sources, folks where limited.....not now.

    Spread the word!

    BTW,

PEACE and Love to ALL this NEW YEAR!

    :-)

  • sa lahat ng waver mabuhay tyo lahat it will never ever die the best tlaga pure and so deep walang katulad

  • international 1 manchester 1985? what memories

  • Any Power Switchers here? Remember Chelle D? Paborito kong DJ from BM105...who became my friend and hosted during my wedding party. Her famous last lines "Gonna go, gonna hike, gonna do something with my life." Tapos syempre play na "Broken Land" for her closing song.

  • oo nga tama ka don,yon ang famous lines nya bago sya palitan ng ibang DJ, where is she now?

  • Im sorry for the thumbs-down, wrong click. Last time I heard, Chelle is working in the news department of Channel 13.

  • ok,remembering the good old days ng new wave pa ang uso, sana'y maulit muli

  • ive been searching for this song for long time, finally completed my rare cuts of music. thank you

  • ok ka brod remember the old days again, simple lang

  • real good song

  • My favorite Chameleon song of all time.

A total classic. I have seen them only

once when they were in Seattle about

15 or so years ago. Funny how time flies

    by so fast.

  • im so proud that i am from the 80's we have our own identity...if ur punk ur punk ...if ur new wave u are new wave!! but now almost lahat nag revival...and yeah malupit talaga ang new wave

  • malulupet talaga ang mga banda noong 80s, masasabi mo talagang astig sila...............kumpara mo sa mga banda ngayon!

  • simply nostalgic!!!. . . . the best pa rin talaga ang new wave era!!!! . . . .. WXB 102 "the station that dared to be different" . . . .long live the spirit of the 80's!!!!

  • I will always love that song !

  • great song..... Will the light really turn green ?

  • lets go to sitges!

  • simply stunning, all hail to mark burgess
