Questions (as a dumb american) . . . why's everyone set up close together? Do you not need a busking license or something?

In Chicago (where I live), generally street musicians are plenty far enough apart not to step on each others' toes . . . but I've no experience with busking in Japan.

Two suggestions:

1) Learn some new tunes and dance moves. A little variety might increase interest (although the hefty pervert standing there watching your every move didn't seem to be bothered by the repetitive nature of your performance).

2) Next time, don't set up so close to that freak band.

Freak band? Pray tell what constitutes a "freak band."

Harmonization would also help . . . playing in unison is great if you're part of a greater whole with more harmonic content, but effectively unaccompanied melody is very limited.
