You have to make really sure the polish is dry before you use them. Try doubling or tripling your drying time, especially if the polish is thicker. Second, apply light pressure to stick it down. If you press and hold it will rip up the underlying polish. Third, pull it off slowly with tweezers when you're done (see lilac and orange video). Hope this helps.
