Mobil 1 is a group 3 oil so its not a true synthetic, its a synthetic blend. But because of the nature of the oil it can be marketed as Full Synthetic. In Europe M1 is not allowed to put full synth on any of their product unless its a Group 4.
Reasons to use M1? Marketing, marketing and marketing.
Like Cactus Bob says, the video is a technical disaster, offering nothing but FUD and hooey. I can hear my brain cells dying... 'pop' 'pop-pop' 'ka-plooey!'
@fattuning999 Synthetic is way thinner than conventional oil, they use it in newer engines cause the tolerances are much tighter. In older engines they made them looser we'll say and you should stick to regular oils in something older. And yes never use synthetic for a break in
@Avalanche2 uh no they didnt they actually have an integral oil cooler internally that cools it even better than before.and yes agreed about mobil 1.i know a guy that drive sand cars and he used mobil 1 and every engine that had it he lost that engine
What brand are they recommending?
I've forgotten.

Amazing how this video was in NO way marketed or endorsed by Exxon Mobil... ;-)

The reason the Vettes now need synthetic oil is that Chevy cheaped out and removed the oil coolers way back in like 95.
Mobil one is crappy over priced oil anyway.
