We live in a world of flaunting our weatlh or any form of conspicious material acquisition:AYINLA was absolutely right to boast vociferously about purchasing brand new Mercedes:he had too many blood-seeking foes who were desperately want to see his downfall into snake-pit obscurity:he ought to remind them he was flourishing unabatedly, and he enviably did. OLOWONYO was second rate singer:if not for his celebrated enmity he had with AYINLA,he wouldnt achived the considerable fame he had.!!
omg..this is mother of all beef song, it became yoruba national anthem...ayinla, u ask for it..idont remember what ayinla sang to promt this outrage..competiting sells record ,but this guys were at each others trats for real
@yemi8149 YOU rightly assessed that this song was a mega-hit in national anthem proportion---have you heard of AYINLA,s album-"ATI DI ARIYO"(2) in which the megastar lambasted those shrucken-brain,senseless and inferior-complex suffering Yoruba ladies who were potentially fatally bleaching their black complexioned skins--"Anu e lo se mi o lo je ki ba e damoran,o ye ki o bi ibeji ki o to bora"--any neutral observer then would tell you that awesome lyrics was more popular than FATAI's rantings-
As much as I like the song and respect this singer, I am not particularly delighted about the confrontations and affronts contained in the lyrics, interspersed with prayers...
But Ayinla is too Strong for Him to Handle.......I remember when Ayinla come to play for a Naming Ceremony at Gbadamosi Street....for one of the Butcher Leaders, the dont allow Olowonyo to sit Down there....Ayinla is too Strong for him to Face, But He also is having Good songs ...all Bombay Guys is Greetings U....
@akknile Thank you for the info, I'm not aware that he's dead. I used to listen to this record thinking whao this guy is still alive. May his soul RIP.
Onelove1.......ise lo see ooo, U let me remember my youth days in Agege, when Ayinla omowura and Olowonyo is Fighting for Seniority within them......all Agege peoples at that time Divide into 2 parts.....Papa Ashafa , Dopemu, Agege Support Ayinla becos of the Union Guys.........i Feel at Home today....all Bombay Guys is Greetings U....
I remember I used to play this music & Ayinla Omowura's responses at my aunt's beer parlor "full blast" in Jebba and she always ask why I love all these instigating songs :-) Nice memories. Thanks for posting.
@akeemism: 1974, or '75, or '76, but definitely not later. Fatai Olowonyo and Ayinla Omowura were feuding long before the emergence of Fuji music and Sikiru Ayinde in 1978. In many ways both Ayinde and Kollington Ayinla would model themselves after these two precursors, Ayinde as the major talent in the manner of Omowura, and Ayinla as the caustic-tongued upstart in the fashion of Olowonyo. But I must say that Olowonyo's is brilliant poetry, and for me, much rather him than Omowura!

Great Ayinla would never have done a re- release.Rather he would create new material. He was that good.

@onikoloboegba you're right. Ayinal was VERY good. I honestly think he will still be making quality music.
