Thank you for sharing this. It was a simple, beautiful piece of film. I'm sorry so many & so much was destroyed, though I know the Japanese people are resilient & will always have support no matter how much time passes.
I wish those commenting would respect the subject of this film, its about people and human survival, not animals, not anything else. Please take a moment to ponder that before leaving a comment~
Out of this Homo sapiens sorrow sea life can recover from human industrial slaughter!! Of course it sad all the people whom lost their lives, but we share this planet and we kill far more than natural disasters
Maybe I don't think that nature has a conscious, but indeed a balance needs to be struck and we I think are the ones causing an asymmetrical distribution of resources. Thus we must face its peril :)
Oh rich comment, I meant no offense to the people who died! But alas you call me "self righteous" but I fear the it a bit off. What are the difference between people and animals? You must be the self righteous twat who thinks humans have more value than animals, that an invisible daddy placed us here to control and use then as we see fit. We share all our DNA with all animals which means we all have a common ancestor which means we are not a special species:) ........twat
@PlebScrubber Oh fuck the whales, women and young children would have died when this happened but what we live in now is a world of hippies that care more for wildlife than they do their fellow man, hence the level of amount of injustice that goes on in the world for which there is little mention.
@GitTractor Yes dead men are worth mentioning but you are just stating the obvious and not looking at the bigger picture of the most vulnerable and fearful of all for whom died not to mention the men that are left behind that feel as if they had failed (of which they did not) not being able to protect the very things they held most dear to them, their little kids and their wives.
@blade004 Dead men are worth mentioning, but not worth the time it would take for you to actually mention them? I struggled to read and understand the rest of your reply..
@GitTractor You struggled to read and understand because you are young and want to always be right to win t he argument rather than take heed in the words being said. Write back when you have a few more years on you and aren't so stubborn.
@blade004 No, I was trying to be polite. The reason I struggled to read it was because it has to be one of the most badly worded replies I have ever read. It was a grammatical train wreck. Well, it's my fault really for trying to be decent. But now I will be as blunt as I can be. You are at best intellectually mediocre. The arrogance of your "rebuttal" has absorbed any sympathy I had for you. If you want to talk down to me you could at least make it legible.
@GitTractor You weren't being polite you were being condescending but working around that with dishonesty putting the ball back in my court is not exactly beyond you now is it ;) And the sheer amount of diatribe as per your reference to my lack of grammatical aptitude really is a poor attempt on your part to form an argument especially given your self proclamation of intellectual superiority. You overly exaggerate your dealings with me so as such your points are flawed and meek at best.
@blade004 Compared with what I was really thinking, what I wrote was polite. I am not going to waste my time with your hamfisted attempt to save face. Which is simply substanceless pontification. If you would like to clarify your original reply then please do so. Otherwise we are done.
We are capable of caring about all living beings. That the whaling in gone in this town is the silver lining on a very dark cloud. How very sad for these people. How very sad for Japanese culture. It's going to take generations to get over the trauma of this event, and then there's Fukushima which is going to continue to be a disaster for thousands of years to come. I also feel for the wildlife that call the area around the reactor home. They're fucked too and they don't even know it

That boy's house was saved 'cause he used many balloons. He had help from an old koot. The movie Up was based on his story.

i see the eco-terrorists are gloating over the disaster. Truly lower than human beings, they should be skewered and eaten.
