Bravo! I really enjoyed this interpretation of the Erlking character. I usually perform a more villainous Erlking when I sing this piece; however, I enjoyed the "smooth talker" presented here. It was nice to hear a different interpretation so well done!
@piasecznik I agree it could be faster, and usually is. But there is an apparent advantage to the slower tempo - the singer has more time to shift convincingly into the different characters of the song and also give more attention to nuance in phrase contour. I also want to note, being a pianist myself, that this accompaniment is among the most difficult I have ever seen. The unrelenting repeated octaves and chords can be sustained at tempo by only a small percentage of pianists.

Bravo Araiza! Gage no comments. No, just one: if you are not able to play "Erlkönig" - don't do it!

Bravo.

Uh, Araiza is great, and his German diction is also fine but what's up with the tempo? It could be twice as fast.
