  • hey i also made a guitar cover check it out its not as good though :/

  • Man, you're too much of a dick for me to compliment you. I was going to, but then I started reading your comments and figured out that you handle criticism like a 12 year old girl.

  • @615DSloan I can take honest criticism just fine cause I am well aware that I am just an intermediate player and I know I can't play everything 100% the way they are played by the original artists. But I do have a problem with bashing, swearing and just being an ass in the way some criticism is given. If someone comes across that way to me, that is how i will respond in return. Now I need to get my teen magazine lol

  • thats not the way they play it (: you play the whole fucking thing wrong, you dont play the interlude bit, on the verse bit you miss out one of the notes that the lead plays, you play the e chord with all the strings, and the secong chord with the open strings, so you play all the strings, and you have the bend of the end of the verse part wrong, and there is an a chord, not a not, a chord played at the end of the verses, you play it wrong -.-

  • @Cookies2132 Thank you captain obvious! This was 2008 which was the first year I ever even touched a guitar. There is a reason I do not say this is a lesson or how to play video. This is how I play it, if people don't like it they can try to find better tabs somewhere else. Wait a minute....if you are such an expert on how to play it then why are watching other covers other than to just be TROLLING!!!

  • @jtodd900 Oh I don't drive ships sorry. and it's one of the easiest songs anyone could learn :L + duh you would be showing people how to play it otherwise :L and because I trolled while I was here ;)

  • @Cookies2132 its called a cover for a reason, it's the way he plays it

  • Thanks man, took me 10 minutes to Learn and 30 minutes to Master TY TY TY :))

  • thank you

  • Man, perfect class !!

  • nice work!

  • Thanks bro! my bands guna cover it soon. ill be sure to send you the vid

  • dude love the way you play it! and thanks for tabbing as well.. much better than Songsterr.... thanks again, Iron Leg Houses of Illusion

  • This is going to sound extremely stupid, but as a self taught guitar player, I need to ask these questions. How do you do the sound at 0:18, that slide effect? Thanks

  • @doolittle9999 thats a slide all you have to do is put pressure on the string strum it with you're pick then drag your finger down the fret board to the fret he lands on

  • strats ar garbage. by a gibson this wudve sounded so much better

btw the cover is amazing lol sorrryy

  • great cover!

    really easy and fun song!

    and sounds good too!

  • i didnt notice a thing, i was too busy watching the funny ad with the women putting a plaster in her mouth.

  • excuses such as the part of Dave Grohl

  • Great Job on the vid ! I'm playing this in church tomorrow, yes church ! Thanks !

  • Do you have an updated version this one isn't really doing it for me.

  • you deserve a better guitar too bad

  • @foodsmighters This was my very first guitar and it's a $1,100 American Fender Strat. I also have a new Schecter Damien Solo Elite that is in my most recent videos.

  • @jtodd900 Thats your first guitar?....Mine was a crafter....You lucky bastard xD

  • @foodsmighters Are you kidding? That's a beautiful guitar. Either 1.) you're joking 2.) You're blind 3.) you dont know guitars that well

  • @dirtyminded604 Yeah its was probably 2 and 3. I was really stupid about guitar back then and now I'm thinking of getting something something similar to his.

  • @foodsmighters At least you can admit that. A Fender Stratocastor is an excellent choice. But if i was going with a new Strat it would have to be an American Standard. Dont buy the mexican, Korean or Jap strats. Not that they're bad, but if you want the true nostalgia of owning a Strat, buy American.

  • @dirtyminded604 Haha yeah. I think I'm gonna get an american deluxe strat. So it should be pretty good.

  • Really good vid nice job

  • your bends r weak son!!

  • Quick question. As a beginner guitar player, does all that down picking put too much stress on your hand or something like that? Or i think its the arm cause i constantly down pick a lot. And im pretty sure either way of picking doesn't require movement of the arm.

  • Plus I never said that I was amazing just this one sucked, I guess American Idol has to do with my playing and my arrogance? I said not to be arrogant maybe you were to busy reading "sucks" to see the comment

  • @MonsterHunter721 Look up what arrogance means...it means you have a "feeling of superiority to others" so in other words you think you play it better. That is why I compared your cover cause that is what I thought you meant. But actually....since you are criticizing a cover that is better than your own, that does not make you arrogant...no...that makes you a hypocrite.

  • @MonsterHunter721 man come on! your cover really sucks get over it!

  • wow not sound arrogant but that sucks

check out my video it has 20 views so far..(for srsrly)

  • @MonsterHunter721 LOL after you saying mine sucks I was expecting your cover to be amazing. Not, dude you have open strings ringing throughout mudding everything up and and can't play the whole song without stopping with the silent breaks and timing is off. I don't think you are arrogant at all, just deaf. You are like those American Idol contestants that suck but honestly think they are great in their own mind. I think I will let my 61k views and 99% positive comments speak for my cover.

  • @jtodd900

If your talking about the intro that wasnt even a part of the song just me. I think the muffling your talking about in the song is called distortion. Something this cover doesnt really have. Ok it does, just crap. Your playing is alright your cover sucks because your amp is set to fail. Ill wait 3 years to see how many views I get, I posted it last week. I have 100% positive. As for being off(1/2 a second if that), I synced the guitar to an mp3. My playing and earphones were on

  • @MonsterHunter721 By muddy sounding I mean your not playing the chords "cleanly", no all the time just in some places. I am well aware of what distortion is. But wait you say my amp settings suck but you yourself admit your using too much distortion! imo my sound is MUCH closer to the original sound than yours and I think I play it better than you. But it makes you look pretty foolish to bash someone else cover when your is worse...just saying. At least have something to back up what ur saying.

  • hey this is a stupid question, but how do you combine two videos like this to play as a split screen haha, i honestly have no idea.

  • @muzicboy99 You need video editing software that is capable of multi screens. I use Ulead VideoStudio. It is one of the cheaper ones out there. There are no free ones that I am aware of.

  • @muzicboy99 Powerdirector is good

  • Awesome, thanks a lot for the tabs !

  • NICE!

  • Nice cover and tutorial, If anyones interested I did a cover of this as well

    /watch?v=EVbsWvzuwLQ&feature=channel_video_title

Pretty crappy lol but appreciated if you watch it

  • awsome lesson dude! Sounds like the original

  • WOWOWOW! you rule! nice vidd man

  • Congratz! Great!

  • I am sooooo happy you put this up! I have to play this for the band I'm in and I'm playing lead and the other people in my band decided to give me the crappiest tabs for rhythm guitar. This is MUCH better.

  • amazing video , really well played and made

  • dude thnx alot u dont understand how much this helped! I needed this to play in my band!

  • @x2late2runx Cool man, glad it helped :)

  • dave would be happy

  • @chanman2087 Thanks!

  • that was cool!

  • thanks for making a video with no B*LL S*IT TALK JUST TABS AND THE SONG

  • WHERE CAN I GET TABS PLZ

  • @Driven763 I get pretty accurate Foo tabs from FFTABS.com I don't remember if that's where these tabs were from or not but most likely.

  • thanks for the help.nice job to

  • Now YOU my man, know how to put a video together! All how to's should do it like you.A+

  • this is awesome.. our band is playing this..very very helpful

  • what kind of proggramming happen to your vid woah.! plz tell me? where it can be downloaded

  • @cjgaliaztig I use Ulead VideoStudio 11+, made by Corel.... just do a search for it. It costs about $90.

  • Hey, what were your amp settings on when you recorded this?

  • @teh1owner Well you are not hearing an amp, I record from my pedal straight to the computer. So all the settings are from my PODxt Live pedal, I have tones that I download.

  • do u have a link to the tabs? this was a great vid but id like to have the tabs in front of me

  • @smudge4481 I can't remember if I used the tabs from this site or not...but I usually get all my Foo tabs from fftabs.com

  • very very good

  • 4. In the chorus, the lead guitar plays that exact octave mini-riff you were playing, while the rhythm plays the harmony on the fourth repeat of the mini-riff, which would be, in succession, Eb-E-B to the lead guitar's F#-Ab-Eb.

    5. You're not bending hard enough on those bends for the E and B string riff that comes before the second verse and appears again in the solo. The bend should turn from a B to a full-out C#.

That should be it. Hope that helps!

  • Very good, but I have a few corrections:

    1. The lead guitar's verse riff is played on the B string while also plucking the high E string in order to get the same kind of dissonance you hear in the studio original.

    2. You're half-right with the rhythm guitar's main verse riff, except you hit the E and B strings together on the 3rd beat and the up-beat before, and add on the low Ab note to the C# power-chord.

    3. The pre-verse riff ends with an A power-chord, not just the A root.

    CONTINUED ^^^^

  • awesome vid dude. keep makin them. this was crazy helpful.

  • Learn to alternate pick? cause you were off a bit even after you came back in, your hand was a bit slow.

  • @futuremusician728 can't play for shit without alternate picking can ya?? ahahahaha.....

  • @lewisismad You can, just helps to learn it, I remember when I couldn't and now I'm sweep picking, which is fun if you love playing guitar. =]

  • @futuremusician728 I can alternate pick just fine. I was in my first few months of playing when this video was made. I am not sweeping yet though...

  • @jtodd900 Good =D Sweeping is hard, but only because it's tricky, it's all about your left hand. =]

  • awesome cover, i got the same guitar, thx for posting the tabs

  • how did you make video boxes?

  • thanks man this helped me out a shit load lol

  • the second guitar is better sliding or hammer it! sounds better, believe!

  • learn to play with my alternation, not just down strokes, especially during the '' there goes my hero'' part you can hear it pretty good, you can hear the small stops between the chords, you dont have those without down,up,down,up,down,up,down,up

    good cover though :)

  • love the cover bro is accurate and helped me out for learning the song. thanks man.

  • nice playing.

but try not to play it like a robot, keep it loose man.

  • Cheer from Brazil mate! Great work and thanks for the help. :)

  • good job friend!!

  • Why didn't you use both guitars during the chorus?

Because it sounds sort of messy...

  • Nice cover, I agree with you at 2:51. The timing is hard at this part, but with practice you get the hang of it.

And thank u so much, cause I was playing this song by ear, and your video showed me I was doing a ridiculous mistake in the chorus xD

Just a hint, try and play the verse riff in the B string, instead of the G. I think the sound is better this way

Sorry for my bad English =)

  • i want a guitar just like urs

  • nice one dude.. we'll be playing this song next week, and it helps. keep rockin'. tnx

  • this was VERY helpful!!!

  • @SatrianiMINIme Glad it helped you :)

  • what tuning is it in?

  • @Mrbackwards1 Standard tuning, it's on the left side of the tab.

  • @thejunk08 you're welcome, mine is an American Fender Strat

  • 1:03

  • @nbfan Let's see November 2008 I was still a real novice player, still learning now. Most other comments love this...not everyone plays like a pro or like you obviously. I do these so people can learn the song if they want with my tabs and almost everyone else really appreciates it. I am definitely not here to show off. But hey, thanks for the awesome comment!

  • @jtodd900 hey man, sorry i was a bitch, people shouldn't be allowed to post under the influence of no sleep. i had no business sayin anything at all, and the tab thing you did is actually pretty helpful for learning the song.

  • wow.. this may be the best video tutorial ive seen on here. I know its an easy song, but you put so much time and effort into making this video. Thank you. Your efforts are very much appreciated

  • nice cover! although you should have done the power chords and octaves in the chorus seperately but other than that great job

  • Can you make one for everlong? Big fan of your videos got all your three days grace ones bookmarked haha

  • i love you♥.

  • very good idea thx man its a great video

  • i know how to play this song, have you ever tried putting the high part in the verse on the b string 4 frets lower, and playing it with one guitar?

  • ...omg....this was ridiculously awsome. i def jizzed my pants xD i will learn how to play this. thanx

  • FUCKING EPICXD!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice one

  • wow very nice cover!!

  • is this in regular tuning?

  • F*ckin AWESOME! good job man!

  • nice... check mine out if u get the chance

  • great cover tanks for da tabs

  • Can i ask how you edited the different parts together like is it a program? Or does anyone else know a good program for editing different parts together? Thanks

  • @MrTeddy740 I use Ulead VideoStudio 11 plus, Sony Vegas is a bit better but also more expensive. Ulead is about $90.

  • whats the strumming order? up or down, yes , im a noob.

  • What kind of pedals are you useing? (brand all that good stuff)

  • Really helpful. Thanks. I kinda figured a lot of this by ear but the beginning was kinda hard to figure out. Thanks a lot!

  • ...yeh,i dont know how to turn my distortion on.....any ideas? i feel so retard,,,,,and i love it!!!!!

  • this is the best i think you're great and thanks to vids n tabs like these ive learnt lots of songs and im only 14!

  • Yep and these artists are making millions on them. A song doesn't have to be really hard to play to be great.

  • you're great... thanks!..it helped me a lot!

  • I've been wanting to learn this song for a long time. Thanks for the video.

  • REALLY NICE JOB!!! well done ! AND THE TUTORIAL IS AMAZING ! :D keep posting more! ...could u post one of paramore! ignorance to be presise!

  • 5/5 simply amazing

  • really one of the best video tutorials I have ever seen..

  • Thanks ficko94

  • Great! Thanks. This will help me a lot.

  • Glad to hear it brunovesgogta

  • esta supeer

    SO GOOD! lml

    buen aporte (:

  • guitar 2 from 2:35 on goes something like:

hammer on as you go up the neck

    e-0----0----0---0

    B-4-5-5-7--7--9

    G--

and then goes right into the build up right after:

    e-

    B-9--9-9-9-9-9---9-9-9-9-9-9

    G-9--9-9-9-9-8---8-8-8-8-8-8

  • Not bad, tabs are not 100% right though.

The top tabs you show around 0:30 actually go something like: This is played on the 2nd string (B)

    -5-5-5-5-5-5-4-4-7-4-4-4-7-4-4-4-5-5-5-5---5-4-4-7-4-4-4-7-5-5-5

    Repeat that.

  • hey i just played the way he played and the way you told him to play it and they both sound good to me soo i think either way would work out great =)

  • awesome cover! what program do you use to play the two videos at once?

  • Thanks man, I use Ulead Videostudio 11plus, it's about $90 - $100.

  • great video, easiest way i have ever learned a song by far thanks

  • Thanks gnr3slash, glad it helped.

  • dude this is great thxs i like that you placed the tabs in here along the way - so easy to follow

  • You're welcome TMH3528

  • is that an hss fender strat or a sss?

  • Thanks tengauged

  • I hate muting the D string but they do that in a couple Foos songs

  • It is very popular in tons of songs so keep practicing. It will be as easy as a power chord before you know it. They are called octaves......

  • thanx for the tabs very helpful

  • you are very welcome drumer00

  • Really really good job :D

  • Great Job dude, one of the best covers i've seen on youtube.Everybody should tabs on their cover videos, so you dont have to explain, and we can play it right, with two guitars. AWESOME. Keep like that!

  • Thanks Luckyman187

  • Excellent Job Bro, 5*..Gota LoL @ The "Critics" on here who think anyone who does a cover should sound identical to the CD...

  • Thanks, glad someone sees it that way....I agree. And even if you play it exact you still don't have the same equipment as the artist so will never sound exact.

  • Fucking Excellent!!!!!!!!!!

    Just tune up next time........

    Very well done Buddy

  • Umm, not so good my friend. Out of tune and incorrect. You video is put together very nicely though...

Mean not disrespect, just not a correct iteration of that song...

  • awesome i love playing this song.

  • great work!

  • thaks man your tutorial is so good

  • at 1:02 when you have to mute the middle string.... it sounds really weird what should i do to fix this? does it have to do with the distortion?

  • just lower your first finger over the string a bit to mute it.

  • Muy bueno, yo la tocaba con ciertos errores que he podido rectificar gracias a este video

  • the lead part is wrong on the beggining

  • It's a cover and it works just fine and I have seen them play this way and a different way live.

  • I really like the two clips showing the two different parts. Nice work.

  • great cover and thanks a bunch for them tabs every other tab i find dont sound right but you nailed it im pacticing now

  • fantastic! gave me goosebumps!!

  • on the intro, are they supposed to be hammer-ons/pull-offs? or strummed?

  • strummed

    (gently)

  • strummed

  • hey i got a question at the chorus i guess where it goes from 899999981111111 well you get it wouldnt it be easier to do that on the 2nd string starting at the 4? because then you would be in postion for the power chords just an idea nice vid btw its rly helpful

  • i completely understand mate, dont worry about it, thanks for the video, its helped me alot, thankyou

  • Awesome playing mate, one of my favourite songs, is there any chance of you explaining it a bit at the same time? can get hard to see what your playing at times and i would love to be able to play it like that, awesomee mate, well done

  • You see the tabs right? If not make sure your "annotations" are turned on. That's the best I can do is tabs. I tried to do a video with explaining how to play and always look like an idiot....keep saying the wrong string or fret, kinda difficult when you are not used to explaining it to someone. I give lots of credit to those that do the tutorials, and do it well. If you can read tabs you should be able to pick this up though. Thanks for the comment.
