He is the rightful King of Portlandia. Not only does he know more about the city and it's history than any single living person, but he owns, preserves and uses an enormous collection of regiounal artifacts on film and paper (in the millions) which would otherwise have been destroyed by improper storage and handling, and which will be donated to a good home when he goes, and live on under ideal conditions for generations to enjoy. Plus he's pretty hot for an old guy.

He is indeed a very singular character. Totally self-made and a brain and a really nice guy.
