Shame, the Droid is everything i want, except for the keyboard, Also love the capacitive screen it offers, but ultimately ill have to get the TP2 because of the better keyboard because all i do is type...im rather bummed, its a hefty compromise ill have to make.

I'm sorry but the hero is not that great. The only thing it really beats the moment in is HTC's Sense UI. The Moment by the way can be rooted to run Sense. Not only will it run it...It will do so much faster than the hero due to the beefed up processor the moment has. So Moment owns Hero all day! =)

verizon is better.u can get the "friends and family" 10 numbers free to call. with at&t u have to buy the plan that has at least 1400 minutes in order to get the 10 free numbers. AT&T u have to have the $30/month thing for data for the iphone PLUS pay for freakin text messages which is like 20 bucks more per month per line. SO SCREW THAT. verizon is better deal.

1) What extra $30 a month are you referring to? I am assuming there is some sort of required data plan? Anyway, doesn't the iPhone need a data plan?

2) That is very subjective. Some would argue that it is better. It is open source, fully customizable, etc. Also, everyone should keep in mind that the iPhone has limited itself to AT&T. Verizon hasn't had too many amazing phones out there so if you are on their network the Droid (and other phones like the Droid Eris) are important.

because they wanted to include the d-pad. the TP2 is also a little thicker than the droid. the keyboard helped keep the droid slim but it is a pretty uncomfortable keyboard =/

The Droid hardware keyboard does concern me.being accustomed to & more comfortable with the island-type keys on the Sony VAIO AW & the LG Voyager. Touchscreen keyboard appears hassle-free when I see you using it, even in portrait mode. In need of replacing my 3rd-in-a-row defective Voyager (no more, pls;-) & the Motorola Droid has captured my attention.

The keyboard on the Touch Pro 2 is better and yes that would mean it would be recommended by most. The better phone is up to you, the main differences are HTC vs MOTOROLA and ANDROID vs WINDOWS. HTC probably makes the better phone and ANDROID is probably the more stable system. But MOTO and WIN have been around, and alot of people still like Windows OS. Your problem will be you will want the ADRIOD OS on the HTC Touch Pro2. That would be the winning combination.

If you're asking if you can hold down the Shift key and another character at the same time, then no. The on-screen keyboard is responsive and pretty fast so it's not that big of a deal to type fast, however.

It depends on your needs. I do think the hardware keyboard on the Touch Pro2 beats out the Droid. Software keyboards on all three devices are great, with the iPhone still holding a slight, but small, edge.

Overall, Windows Mobile and the Touch Pro2 offers more extensibility at this time than the closed environment of the iPhone and the emerging Android platform.

It is a bit hard to use and if you use the hardware KB, there is no autocorrection. The software keyboard is very good, however.

I haven't tried the Droid yet obviously. I tried the Samsung Moment yesterday at the Sprint Store. It is nothing like it looks. It looks great, but it's terrible. Because they put the number on the top, they repositioned keys and that through off the common keyboard positioning. A completely unnatural typing experience. I think its not only bad for typist. I had to look at the keyboard concentrating to make sure I didn't make a mistake. If your interested in the Moment, I would try before buy.

Good review of the keyboards. Outbid all the phones in the video, I like the droid the least. The qwerty keyboard on the Tilt looks to be a lot better than the Droid and that device came out two years ago. Justvtalking about the keyboards though. iPhone Is still the best virtual keyboard around.
