Darren Helm I think is the fastest skater out there in the NHL... Really reminds me of Paul Kariya's speed back in his prime. Helm, Kronwall, Leino are the future of the Red-Wings I think.

That' means nothing, Kronwall's still got another 5-8 years left in him. He's showing no signs of slowing down, in fact, he's getting better every year.

Franzen's 29 now, aside's from injury, he wasn't showing any signs of slowing down either, he's averaging about a goal a game in the playoffs.

Major scouting. Miostly thanks to Yzerman now. Plus, they find these guys and don't tell anyone about them. Because these guys have to spend at least 2 - 3 years in the minors leaning Red Wings style hockey: pass, pass, pass,pass, and then score.

good trainers and coaches my friend, however speed like helm's is talent, and they play very well as a team so they don't need to spend millions of dollars on talent

agreed. Cleary is also pretty high on my list as well. Both of them are very hard working skaters and they earn every second they get on the ice

@tjthegiant He reminds me of myself when I used to play hockey. I couldn't shoot too well but damn was i fast. I'd skate my ass off and beat people to the puck and anytime I didn't have it, I'd make damn sure to ride someone's ass. Darren Helm isn't the type of guy to climb the ladder in terms of scoring goals, but he's the type to make shit happen. It's like he stays hungry out there--he plays with a lot of heart.
