  • this has too much prequel shit and not enough original shit

  • 2:36 Didn't Macbeth chopped Macduff's head?

  • Jedi are not supposed to have wife and children.

  • The Fall of Macbeth (English 12 project)

TYPE THAT INTO THE SEARCH BAR FOR THE GREATEST PROJECT EVER

  • I agree with ChristianJohnston1 the acting lacked passion. MacBeth was pretty pissed off by this point in the story, as was Mac Duff who hated Macbeth with every fiber of his being. But I have to say I was pretty impressed with the choreography. It was a little slow, but it flowed very well. If it were a bit more aggressive--damn, it would have been good. Oh and I thought the ignition of the lightsaber into Macbeth in order to kill him was brilliant.

  • The effects were good, and the fight choreography was okay, but being both a Shakespeare nerd and a theatre geek, the acting could have been tons better, and please, don't paraphrase Shakespeare. It loses all meaning and power!

  • what program was used for the light saber effect?

  • marry me?

  • Did you film this in Home Depot?

  • nice vid pretty well done man

  • how did u guys do these effects?

  • @CarlLewisC Adobe Aftereffects, with a technique called rotoscoping.

  • I just read macbeth in class.and considering the fact tht im not much of a star wars fan...i thought this was pretty darn good!good job guys:)

  • Oh my god! I have to shwo this to my students now. I'm a huge Star Wars nerd and we're doing the Scottish Play in the theatre class I teach. For a first film and lightsaber duel, you guys did an extremely good job. I actually commented on the parallelism of Anakin to Macbeth today in class!

  • loved the lightsaber toss at 1:08

  • @JazzmanSA80, DUDE THAT WAS LIKE AN EPIC FIGHT! :)

WAS IT FOR LIKE AN ENGLISH PROJECT OR SOMETHING?

YOU GUYS PULLED OF THE CHOREOGRAPHY REAL_GOOD MAN!

  • what software did you use?

  • Ummm.. i belive there was a beheading at the end of that scene .. make it happen

  • Nice choreography.

  • Lol we're doing Macbeth at my school. Personally I prefer this version.

  • im doing Macbeth at my school but Gangstar style and its based on drug wars. Cheers this has helped as it shows u really can change it to any genre.

  • Cool story bro.... :D

  • YOU WHORE!!

YOU'VE BETRAYED ME WORSE THAN LADY MACBETH BETRAYED DUNCAN!!!

  • Just a tiny suggestion, if you ever do this again/revise the cut -- maybe Macbeth's saber ignition sound should be one of the ones from Return of the Jedi (the ones that sounded more like some sort of a flare or misfire, you know?). I always thought those sounds were a bit more sinister.

  • @BoredomCorner Actually, that was the one I wanted to use, but we never got around to finding that sound effect. I think we pulled most of ours out of one of the Jedi Knight games.

  • @JazzmanSA80 Yeah I recognized the pull and lightning sounds.

Though for future reference I think there's a brief but reasonably clean (ie. no music) version at the end of the speeder bike sequence in ROTJ. You'll have to cut it pretty tight but it's worth a try.

  • @BoredomCorner Hm, I'll check it out. Unfortunately, we're all in and out of college now and don't have time for this sort of thing anymore, but if we do, I'll put the advice to good use. Thank you!

  • @BoredomCorner Just a tiny suggestion... you should get a life.

  • @xXxXxzOMGxXxXx What makes you think I don't have one?

I'm a filmmaker myself, so those sort of technical details are things I'd clue into.

  • @BoredomCorner i dont like your face

  • the guy in the black robe actually looks like anak in

  • Go Macbeth! You have the dark side with you, dude!

  • that was sick

  • wow... Macbeth has become epic! lol

  • hey pretty cool man. keep it up.

  • cheesey

  • HOW THE HECK DID YOU DO THE EFFECTS??

  • how did you do the lightsaber affect

  • I think you were trying to call us faggots**

  • faggets

  • Goddam, im fcking impressed.

    *Highfives

Fck yea, lol i had to research parodies for this dam book in my class too, im definitely writing bout this one

    NNICEEE WOORK

  • @L0NIP0PXD Thanks! If you want to see our parody of the whole play, the link is in the description for this video. It's about 25 minutes long.

  • Macduff rocks

  • I bet that got an A+ in english. Haha. Nice lightsabers.

  • not really like Macbeth other than his name is it?

  • @Blackbear2oo9 We did a 25 minute parody of the entire play- this is only the fight scene from the end. If you want to check out the entire movie, the link is at the bottom of this movie's description.

  • Damn, that was so epic it gave me a strange feeling... in my pants :D

  • Okay, this was superbly epic! I give it 10/5!!! Makes our Macbeth stuff look lame :P

  • Well done

  • best one i ever saw

  • dannngg son.

    this is sick.

heh. you two are ridiculous! how did you do the *almost real* looking light saber effects?

  • that is fucking legitimate. very little to do with macbeth, but that was a sick lightsaber fight. better than anything in the first three movies

  • That is completely awesome. Well done.

  • I think that it's awesome! It's ridiculous how you can do that. and i feel bad that i was like skeptical, i just wasn't sure what I was looking for. but now that i know you made it, like holy crap. you got skillz.

  • Great video, this was very well done. However, it seemed like you cut the ending a little short. The ending just seemed abrupt to me. Other than that, enjoyed it. :)

  • This is good, but u guys look a little stiff. Not trying to be mean

  • Not at all, I agree completely. We definitely could have benefited from more practice before we shot.

    Thanks for the feedback! :)

  • And you are spending your time now -not- getting laid while you're -watching- 'shit like this'.

    Damn, you're cool!

  • inflatable doll DOESN'T count as getting laid

  • I'm going to assume this was in response to kimberreley and enjoy a good lol

    XD

  • ya it was

as for the video, i like the ending and the dialogue

the only bad ting i can say is at 1:10 the jedi's saber seemed a little slow turning on ^^

  • pretty well made guys, great vid

using the "turn hellhound turn" line at beginning would have been great, love that insult

  • that was actuly prtty sweet, just kinda repetitv combos, you did that thing where you cross the blads down and then one of you comes around and knockes it back up alot, and hit harder, like the contact looked a little fake, ya gata actuly hit the guy a little.... thats just what i think tho. constructiv critisisum and what not

  • Much appreciated!

  • so are you guys gona do more of this stuff, cus ill sub if you are

  • We planned on it, but it's not likely that we will anymore.

  • good concept, bad sword play

  • wow combo nerds lol

you forgot to cut of his head :P

  • This is rad :D

  • Well done guys, looks great, and good choreography. Just one thing ... "From my mother's womb untimely ... pricked ...?" Maybe I misheard it, and you really said "pluced" ??? lol :-)

  • It's been a couple years, but I think the line was "untimely *ripped*"

  • awesome

  • oh my god, this is amazing! Please make more stuff like this!

  • wow so damn sick =)

  • its ok, but me and my friends are going to make the best one ever and we will be youtube legends

  • where you´ve got the song from?

  • I believe it's from Star Wars Episode I, VJbasti. It's called "Duel of the Fates."

  • i like it

  • i watched your entire video and i must say that i'm startled at how well it was. i'm in grade 11, and we've been planning our video for a while, we just go the actual assignment today, however. We thought we were being original by mixing star wars with macbeth, but i guess not :p Our goal will be to create a video that can parallel yours as far as quality goes in a short period of time. This video made my day! thank you!

  • What program do you use to put in the saber effects?

  • thank you man u gave me a great idea 4 my englisch class video. Shure it's not going 2 be this(starwars, and not this seen... maby) but this is going 2 help. ty man

  • damn nice ass effects and choreo. 10/10 in my book

  • Shakespeare as I've never seen it before! In a galaxy far, far away!

    Love it!

  • pretty good for something done in high school for a project. other than that i mean effects could have been better (like sparks when you hit the floor with a light saber) along with sounds for the punches and kicks, but other than that nice work!

  • That was really good. The special effects were very well done and the fighting looked extremely well rehearsed. Awesome interpretation!

  • Ok guys this is just.... A W E S O M E. Great job.

  • Wow, the whole light saber exchange section was done extremely well. Great choreography in general, I'm very impressed.

  • at the begining of fight were the boxes are (the iles) i would have climbed up there and when the enimy passes i grab by throught and take saber

  • Meant to be Jedi Master Macduff

  • It's Darth Macbeth vs Jedi Master Malcolm

  • great job, wat editing program did u use?

  • Like the summary says, this is just the fight scene at the end of the full movie we made- a Star Wars parody of Macbeth.

  • to get the saber to return to your hand, did you record it being thrown down and reverse it?

very good production, although I'm not sure Shakespeare and star wars mix well.

  • For the first angle, yes (we had to shoot it probably 20 times to find one that looked believable). For the shot where he actually caught it, someone just threw it to him from off-camera.

Concept-wise, we were very happy with how the play parodied with Star Wars. As far as our execution, we are scrutinous of our work, but considering the time (very little) and resources (few to none) we had, we are satisfied with how it came out.

  • this is rly well done

  • the fight scenes are simmilar to the first films

  • i like how u got the music to help the fast paste action of a star wars scene

could you tell me the program u used for the light saber effects please i would really appriciate it im trying to me my own little star wars story

  • Okay. Looking at the whole video, you definitely deserve an A+ and some extra credit for that. Amateur, maybe, but it was very well-done for a rush job.

I am not sure if many people can pull off something like that as well in the time-restraint.

  • Thank you! One of the most honest and constructive comments I've seen by far.

  • are those lightsabers sturdy?

  • Very nice i loved it, If that teacher does not give you a good grade then im going to punch him XD. But that its a very nice video If i was your teacher i would give you an A+ XD nice job

  • after being hit full on with force lighting i don't think you would have the strength to lift up your lightsaber and then just suddenly deflect and hurl it back

  • Oh sweet Jesus, judging from your name I can tell you like Star Wars far too much, It's only meant to be taken lightly as an adaption of the play, and a very good adaption at that, not a new Star Wars movie, but Macbeth in the style of Star Wars. So kindly grow up

  • wow you guys could make a good star wars movie seriously!

  • is there a episode 2?

  • a masterpiece

  • That was PRO. Nice video!

  • watched littlebit too much starwars?

  • Pointless comment is pointless?

  • Very good - but if I were Macduff I'd've been gutted later on when I realised I'd left my lightsaber behind...

  • this is 1 of the better lightsaber fights ive seens. bravo to the creater

  • It was very much a team effort, but we thank you!

  • fantastic effects! What program did you use?

  • Adobe Aftereffects

  • great effort!

    and nice locale too :)

some large storage area or something?

  • Thanks! It's a warehouse for a company that prints/embroiders uniforms. The place was full of boxes of Polos and shoes, but made for some great spots to shoot.

  • this is grand

  • I did the play macbeth on wednesday and after that my brothers said the fight scene was just about as good as starwars (just thought I'd say that for the coincidence (the battles were NOT very good at all because we got the entire play done in two weeks)).

  • (spoilers) bad ass move at the end, still has room for potential. Very nice work nonetheless.

  • how do you do that

  • Not as good as the original Star wars MacBeth but a good tribute to it.

  • The original?

  • I hope you got an A+++

  • 200/100 actually! Boosted my C to an A in the class haha

  • whoa! sweet vid! who did the editing Lucas?!

  • wonderful

  • yo howd u guys do this

  • Some parts were a little rough but this was good stuff. I really liked the arm tangle/saber switch at 1:52. The kill stroke was quite clever as well.

  • o0o0 shit my class tommorrow is bout to read this part in macbeth

  • tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow ... the sound and fury of tomorrow ...

  • thanx so much this really helps, i just hope that our vid could be this good

  • yo this vid is kick ass!! I have to do this for my english class and i hope that ours will turn out as good as urs, we are doing Act 5 scene 1

can u give me any pointers on making my vid look good??

  • My biggest advice would be to PLAN AHEAD! Visualize every shot, and have everything choreographed as specifically as possible. Then, what we did is shoot the scene several times from different angles (only 1 camera) and then edited together the scene from various angles. Definitely dont do the whole scene from one angle- it will be stale and boring.

My second advice would be not to make any sacrifices in quality. Keep your standards high!

If you have any specific questions, please msg me!

  • I am a Star Wars Fan Film Critic. Choreography is cute. It looks as if you are aiming for the Lightsabers instead of each other. At 1:29 why didn't he just stab you with his lightsaber? And at 1:59 you would be knocked back several feet. Even if you wouldn't be knocked back you would be unable to move and would not be able to block the lightning. Star Wars Fan Film Critic

  • LMAO, I really hope this is a serious comment.

    Thanks!

  • Wow, I just realized how similar the Revenge of teh Sith was to Macbeth..Especially the part where Anakin slaughters the Jedi at the temple and orders the clone troopers to carry out the assassinations, is like when Macbeth slaughtered Macduff's household and order other assassinations. Both Macbeth and Anakin were also blinded by their ambitions, and both had their wives die due to their emotions ( Padme due to sadness, and Lady Macbeth due to guilt, and ultimately sadness it comes with)

  • that was sweet =D

  • loved the fight sequence if it wasn't for the very cheesy lightning this video would have been perfect

  • LoL I laughed at 1:30, classic, like wrestling. Pretty good otherwise, you better have got an A after the time filmin....

  • lol, when they're both running down the stairs ud uv fort hed fro the saber at him...

  • Great pastiche. Well done chaps.

To those expecting decapitation, are you serious?

  • It's actually not a tough effect in terms of work compared to the lightsabers. We planned on making it happen, but we realized in post-production that we messed up the shot.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Much respect to you, Jazzman. I have no knowledge of SFX, and so it's interesting to hear that decapitations are relatively straighforward to pull off! The lightsabers are very convincing - it must have been great fun making this clip.

  • We had no SFX knowledge coming in to this project actually. We did a lot of research on it online in the weeks up to this. Anyone with a camera and a LOT of time can do it.

Thanks very much for the positive feedback!

  • what happened at 2:50 i couldnt catch it..great job...love those light saber sound effects...u wouldnt by any chance know a website where i could watch the real macbeth, would you?

  • What happened is that we screwed up and that was the best we could edit it together :)

I can't say that I know of a place on-line where you can watch the real Macbeth- sorry! Check your school or local library.

  • lmao good job guys

  • lmao good job guys

  • actually macbeth dies without head, but great job

  • very nicely done. Great video editing with the sounds and the glowing lightsabers.

Our fight scene for our Macbeth project was very similar (and we even used the same song), but no lightsabers, just wooden swords :)

    Overall, very good job.

  • good fight scenes - but great setting. well done although very wierd!! lol

  • he was suppose to cut his head off.

  • Nice video, but the ending spoiled it a bit (why did Macbeth remain on his knees and die???). Still, a job well done.

    4/5

  • what the fuck was that. that was the weirdest thing i have ever seen.

  • nice fightscene

  • That was a treat! Nice editing, I was anticipating the beheading at the end but it didnt happen.

  • Thanks a lot. I've told a couple others about the beheading- we actually got quite good at the effect to do that in practice, but when we went to edit this actual footage, we realized that we messed up the shot we needed to make it happen, so we had to cut it (no pun intended).

  • Aha, I love the video any ways, very clever

  • Wow I just shitted bricks from watching this, I'm doing a project similar to yours...and boy this puts my film to shame :( Great Job!!

  • that was great and a lot of fun...good job guys!

  • wow, how did you make the lightsabers?

  • u mug what a winkle head

  • this is terrible. its not macbeth at all, its throwing in fake shakespeare lines that are paraphrased from the play, and the fight is horrible.

  • You are.

  • dude i'm playing macbeth in a play at school. we're not paraphrasing, and we're not cutting anything. and we're fighting full on. so piss off. i can say it sucks because i've done this stuff and i'm better at it.

  • Oh my, aren't we the little elitist? Read a few of my comments on here friend- this is a parody. We threw this together for a project in a short time, and I'll be the first to tell you that the quality is low. Regardless, we got a good grade and had fun.

But GOOD LUCK with your little school play. You Macbeth folks like to get lots of good lucks before hand, right?

    Ta.

  • Elitist? I'm an actor of course I'm elitist! I missed the parody part, sorry 'bout that, and congrats on the good grade. "Good lucks?" Not really. Superstition is for idiots. Besides, how can the production go poorly? I'M THE LEAD.

  • Ohhh, a little full of ourselves are we? You should look around you're school, I'm sure no one likes you because you're a cockey stuck up fucktard

    end of story

so do the world a favor and jump of a very high bridge

  • I wasn't going to waste any more time responding to him, but I think you said it pretty well haha. :D

  • where did you come from? so what if i'm full of myself? the video was cool, but it missed parts that are crucial to the story.

and learn to spell assclown. "cocky" has no "e" in it.

and i'm actually pretty well liked at my school.

  • stop being a baby and take it like a man

  • i 'm not sure where you get the baby idea... but hey, i got carried away. i was kind of an ass with it, and hey, these guys put a lot of effort into it. not all of us have been doing theatre for several years, and i guess i was too harsh in that i expected something more polished than what time allowed. shall we drop it?

  • I can live with that one

  • I don't get the point. It's not really Macduff vs Macbeth so much as two kids pretending to be Obi-wan and Anakin re-enacting that battle scene, with a few random lines of Shakespeare thrown in between.

  • The point was explained above, but I'll say it again: 12th grade english video project. You should take up reading, and then come back to the video summary written above. Also, there is actually a 30 minute movie that parodies the whole play, and the link is even written there.

  • great job! my english class has to reenact macbeth too. any tips? so far, listening to my own voice acting is like stabbing my ears with humiliation... so horrible i am.

  • I know the feeling- I was totally uncomfortable with acting, and even worse was actually watching it back. It's best to keep in mind that the person who is judging you most on it is yourself, and just do what you gotta do. Odds are that you are a lot better than you think!

  • We had this same assignment in my English 12 class. My group did this same scene but we did it in a kung-fu samurai theater style. We misaligned the audio, added grain, and filmed in sepia. For the beheading, just like you, our shot got messed up so we reflimed it with a head in a bag instead of my head. Should be up here soon. It was called Macbeth-san. Kudos on yours though. I liked it a lot.

  • Gotta cut of his head according to the text...
