Fuck this blader/skater vendetta has to stop. I skate, I've seen the struggle first hand; and it doesn't have to be. Think about it; both our sports depend on each-other to some degree. The first recorded skateboard was a 2-by-4 with old key-style rollerskates strapped to them. And shit to be honest if everyone would quit having such crappy attitudes at parks and have a little more respect for each-other this wouldn't even be an issue. SK8 and enjoy; whether your blading or skating, quit hating.
I blade... and I will say... bladin' IS easier than skateboardin'... TO CERTAIN PEOPLE... it depends on your ambition and skill level... not to mention willingness to learn... face it... a kick flip is harder than... I think some rollerblading is amazing, but the only reason I don't do it is cuz there's too many limitations. You can't flip skates. To me, the only potential I see in blading is spins and grinds. I skate cuz theres like a million tricks you can do, and more being made every day. There's lots of room for creativity. Blading's cool but...it's not very creative. It's hard I'll give it that. I admit, as a skater, i'd never try a 540 to a grind, especially when you can't bail out of it.
I disagree, just because you can't flip the skates doesn't limit the possibilities. There are TONS of variations to every grind. And when It comes to creativity, rollerblading is all about it. Rollerblading uses so much of your body you can tweak and add your own style to every trick, making no two rollerblader's style the same. I'm not in anyway knocking skateboarding, I have an immense amount of respect for skateboarders.

when fruit booters start, i doubt they go higher then 2 feet, till there good enough to do so. as it is with skateing, it just takes longer cuz skateboarding is more of a challenge
and i think its smarter, cuz if a blader and a boarder were skating the same thing, u know the skaters at a higher lvl in skateboarding, then the blader is in roller bladeing, so ur already doing challenging stuff a 10 stair, and considered good, when the blader is still shitty, till he's hiting like a 20 stair.

Having things attached to your feet imposed another kind of problematic... It's not easier in every ways and if you watch pro movies, in general the spots for pro rollerblader are WAY more sick than the ones for skateboarder... It's not just about little rails, 8 stairs gaps and picnic tables... you know :)

But this is the point, you have so many more possibilities. You can do STYLE, grind and jump everywhere, and be really creative about it. Where the skateboard is stuck at the same place since 10 years (except for those damn hudge big air at X-Game). And it's not a fair comparaison, skateboard have major events, skatecamp and so on...

u ever heard of the plateau effect? well it is the effect that, when ur progressing at something, at some point, you reach a point where u cant bet any better, its a human limitation. inlineing has a plateau as well, and cuz its so easy to learn, that plateau is easily reached. it varies between each skater, but every one gets there best alot faster then boarders. if u stick to it, pro is ez.
Wow. Okay, assuming what you're saying is true. A plateau effect isn't universal, it wouldn't affect every person and it would be different for each. If so, the people that surpass the plateau would be that much better. There is always something new, always something you can't do. Same with all sports. And what is considered 'good' is subjective. My point being the perspective on it is going to differentiate. So if it's easy to learn, it is hard to be considered good by others.

for boarders, that plateau is mush harder to reach, cuz there so mush more variation and things to learn for the simple fact it is not attached to ru feet, so u have to learn to keep it to ur feet, learn to catch it, learn to grind, learn to manuel, and then throw them all to gether. balance is also a factor, its harder to learn. alot of more people quit skateing, or just dont get good.
There may be more individual tricks for skateboarders, but bladers throw so many different combinations that it doesn't matter, it makes up for the lack of 'variation'.

Fuck this blader/skater vendetta has to stop. I skate, I've seen the struggle first hand; and it doesn't have to be. Think about it; both our sports depend on each-other to some degree. The first recorded skateboard was a 2-by-4 with old key-style rollerskates strapped to them. And shit to be honest if everyone would quit having such crappy attitudes at parks and have a little more respect for each-other this wouldn't even be an issue. SK8 and enjoy; whether your blading or skating, quit hating.

I think some rollerblading is amazing, but the only reason I don't do it is cuz there's too many limitations. You can't flip skates. To me, the only potential I see in blading is spins and grinds. I skate cuz theres like a million tricks you can do, and more being made every day. There's lots of room for creativity. Blading's cool but...it's not very creative. It's hard I'll give it that. I admit, as a skater, i'd never try a 540 to a grind, especially when you can't bail out of it.

I disagree, just because you can't flip the skates doesn't limit the possibilities. There are TONS of variations to every grind. And when It comes to creativity, rollerblading is all about it. Rollerblading uses so much of your body you can tweak and add your own style to every trick, making no two rollerblader's style the same. I'm not in anyway knocking skateboarding, I have an immense amount of respect for skateboarders.

But this is the point, you have so many more possibilities. You can do STYLE, grind and jump everywhere, and be really creative about it. Where the skateboard is stuck at the same place since 10 years (except for those damn hudge big air at X-Game). And it's not a fair comparaison, skateboard have major events, skatecamp and so on...

yea man, i feel ya. i skated with inliners once they were str8 it was all good. pretty big gap about 2 feet high, and like 7-8 feet out. took me a few trys to stick it. they were 180ing it first try, and they have never seen that spot before.

u ever heard of the plateau effect? well it is the effect that, when ur progressing at something, at some point, you reach a point where u cant bet any better, its a human limitation. inlineing has a plateau as well, and cuz its so easy to learn, that plateau is easily reached. it varies between each skater, but every one gets there best alot faster then boarders. if u stick to it, pro is ez.

Wow. Okay, assuming what you're saying is true. A plateau effect isn't universal, it wouldn't affect every person and it would be different for each. If so, the people that surpass the plateau would be that much better. There is always something new, always something you can't do. Same with all sports. And what is considered 'good' is subjective. My point being the perspective on it is going to differentiate. So if it's easy to learn, it is hard to be considered good by others.

for boarders, that plateau is mush harder to reach, cuz there so mush more variation and things to learn for the simple fact it is not attached to ru feet, so u have to learn to keep it to ur feet, learn to catch it, learn to grind, learn to manuel, and then throw them all to gether. balance is also a factor, its harder to learn. alot of more people quit skateing, or just dont get good.

My whole points at the start of this cluster-fuck was that rollerblading is not comparable to skateboard therefore saying 'it is easier' is flawed. If you feel compelled to respond do so, I'm finished.

depends how u look at it.
there is a way to measure its difficulty, through deep analysis, but who the fuck cares enough to really do that. but it is possible, so ur stating it is incomparable is other wise a rather shallow attempt to make an exit and seem the victor. dont pull shit out ur ass. and if your going to do so, insted of siting u might wanna stand when u type make it a lil easier.
and equal diversity? skateing has more a larger variety of tricks and combinations, so no its not equal

And I think the tricks in rollerblading are more diverse, as in different from each other. Which AGAIN is opinion.
