  • Nice Job Dude! Can u tell me if you know a way to use pic16f84a with 2mhz cristal with LCDSmartie?

  • sorry for the late reply.

And no sorry, i'm not sure about the LCDsmartie. I am not familiar with it.

  • Hi, nice vid. I'm just starting with pics & lcd's (PIC16F84 & Hitachi HD44100H) and I downloaded that pdf. It looks very useful. Thank you jakeon! keep up your work!

  • That's cool. I've just started programming pics and I thought a project using a 16x2 lcd would be a good first project.

  • I thought exaxctly the same thing as I have just started as well.

    I found a great tutorial.

It shows you how to wire a manually switched driven circuit for the LCD.

It teaches you all the functions you need to know to drive a 44780 LCD.

    Go to google and search

    maxmon intelligent LCD

There are 2 pdf files at the top

Print them out, wire it up and go through everything

    you'll learn ALOT.

  • @jakeontheweb where did you find out how to program it at?

  • there is a web address to a PDF document in the More Info section.

I learnt how to use these LCD's using that PDF.

    Jake.

  • @jakeontheweb I don't care about te lcd, I want to know about the pic

  • oh right o then.

Have a look again in the more info section.

I have added another link. That explains the most basic of PIC programming.

  • @jakeontheweb thanks

  • Really low clock rate using, or unrefined code?

  • 4MHz Crystal

    LOTS and LOTS of delays.

I wanted to see each instruction being executed.
