  • Hello greek haters......Stop talking all this shit about Greece.

  • Thanks a lot Greek Government which drove the airline to the ground. They let it amass piles of debt for years, and nobody wanted to buy it, So now they cut out service to major destinations, which have large greek communities but also a name trusted by foreigners. After all do you know what the 5 rings symbolize? each of the 5 continents! but why keep that logo? since its a misrepresentation. They don't even fly to all 5.

  • @sakusia since 1975 OA has been losing money and have untill recently remained the same..for a long time the same aircrafts and the same routes...in 1975 SIA and THAI were embryonic airlines, today they are huge and they have excellent advertisment..the greek government never bothered neither to advertise Greece nor its national airline..in a country with 16million tourists..no wonder people go elsewhere.

  • @am1966ath well that's because the Singaporeans and Thais have some pride in their country. Greeks have no pride, and only look to better themselves and their immediate circle. Who cares about the country, is their reasoning.Olympic was a safe airline.I flew it many times and i felt good but you know what. They destroyed the national airline with their egotistical attitude. Greece is finished and Olympic was just the first in a long line of disasters.

  • @sakusia that bothers me here in Greece..they don t care about anything, not tourism, not environment, not service, just enrich the family and screw everybody else..no social responsibility..Greece was a huge tourist country in 1975, Thailand was a stopover for

transcontinental flights and for few, wealthy group tourists..mind you I ve flown OA to Paris(Orly),Johannesburg and New York..not bad but they coulod be very much better

and trract the greec diaspora and new tourist groups.

  • @sakusia Competeing with 320S in cut throat european skies were people don t care what they fly as long as its cheap is no success formula.

  • @am1966ath i hear ya.The new Olympic is a joke, how could you go from having widebody monsters like the 747 200 and the A340'S plus the A300-600 to those ugly and stupid looking A320'S? First of all the A340'S were not that old and i was happy that Olympic had such a nice aircraft. Who cares about Olympic Air the old airline Olympic Airways( later on Olympic Airlines) was the original creation and Greeks should have kept it. But hey look at this crazy industry i mean SABENA folded and Swissair.

  • @sakusia you are right, the 340 connected vital greec diasporas in New York,Johannesburg,Montreal and Melbourne..fly to Paris or Gatwick is no match, easyjet or Ryanair or even BA can drive them out of the skies anyday...they couldn t compoete even in Australia even after driving out QANTAS from Athens in 1989....such a huge diaspora in Melbourne and Australia flights unprofitable, probably because of corruption and missmanagement.

  • Respond to this video..About Greece you said the key word" social responsibility". Greeks just don't care about anything. When they go on strike all the time, do they not stop to think that hey others may be working too and want to actually go to work? No way. Sta arxidia tous a classic greek response in this sorry excuse of a country. Make no mistake this starxidismos culture is exactly why they are in the situation they are in, Not the EU or oi amerikanoi ftene the classic scapegoats.

  • @sakusia The greeks have a whole mythology of foreign conspiracies to blame for everything, catastrophic indeptness, massive un-checked 3rd world immigration and a tourism industry dying because of non-existant service and very high prices.

I understand that you are greek, Im not but have a 40years relationship with this nation which I wish I didn t have.....its not my cup of tea.

  • @am1966ath if by birth not by choice. I have also lived outside for most of my life and im experiencing HELLasss for the last 5 years, so i still tend to view things from a foreign perspective like yourself. Greece could have been a social paradise i mean hell look at Denmark they have the same population( nearly 10 million i believe) yet they are way ahead in terms of social standards, and technology. But then again they are Danes not Greeks and they have a collective positive mindset.

  • @sakusia Dennmark is a another potatoe altogether, they have very high taxes which they pay, the greecs dont care to pay taxes( the wealthy ones) and the dannes have made a enjoyable environment for tourism, tasty food, nice shopping and very friendly people employed in the service sectors...the greecs nedeed 30years to build a new airport in Athens, the old one was outdated in 1975 and had a lot more flights than the new one. Social order don t fit the greecs, they are to selfish.

  • @am1966ath wow you've been to Denmark? you don't know how bad i want to go somewhere that is civilized. My dream has always been to go to Iceland. I think there's something very peaceful about it and beautiful too. You know what the problem is though? i don't want to see Greeks at all. If i do that will spoil my vacation almost immediately. The problem is a lot of these newly rich Greeks are travelling abroad to places like Iceland and Thailand and Singapore to show off basically not to learn.

  • Respond to this video... the bottom line is I can't stand my own people anymore anybody but them anybody. I m sick and tired of their behaviour, their god dam strikes, their overpriced clothing and luxury goods, and their stupid tiring traditions.

  • @sakusia the worst thing about them is that they don t take responsibility for anything, everybody else is to blame..unfortunately they are also dishonest(the worst being friends and family)...

  • Respond to this video... and one more thing to add. The islands are what's keeping Greece alive if only because they cater to faggots, drunkards and other lowlife forms of tourists. Come to Greece the signs say" A masterpiece you can afford'. Greece has been drawing low end tourism for 2 decades now. The Queer who wants to go to Mykonos, the slutty tourist girls who have sex orgies wherever they can. And the drunkard Brits and Australians who drink until they throw up rolling in vomit.

  • @sakusia I would say 30years, the old Hellenikon airport in Athens used to look like a refugee camp in summer time with all the lowlife-cheap-tourists..I was so amazed when I went to Singapore in 1986 to see japanese tourists, stasying in 5star hotels, shopping in elegant department stores and dining 5star..for me whos family had the missfortune to have a summer house in Greece, tourism in Greece was a filthy odysee, now Greece is more expensive than Bangkok and Bali and the level of service is 0

  • @am1966ath Yes but your comparing apples to oranges here. In 1986( ah just love the way that sounds 80's in general were good times) Singapore and Japan were way ahead of Greece in all aspects of life, be it GDP, manufacturing, health care. So its really unfair to compare Greece to Japan and Singapore of the 1980's,they were at their economic peak back then.Greece had something going back then ( standard of living was improving) but i believe that's when the corruption planted its first seeds.

  • No other airline colours suited the A340, better than Olympic. It is really a shame they stopped flying to Canada after serving the country for nearly 3 decades. I for one flew them many times to Canada and i always loved the look of the A340 dawning the Olympic logo. What angers me is that every other major European carrier still flies to Canada and Olympic doesn't? that stinks. Alitalia, Air France, British Airways,Lufthansa all fly their monsters to Montreal and Toronto. Why not 5 rings?

  • what happend is the airline not going to fly anymore?or what?

  • so sad!!!

  • Very nice but it's too sad. :(

    Thanks a lot for sharing.

  • You are correct and it has been corrected.

  • Nice video I saw that departure too but the flight number is OA424
