I hate 80´s Miami Vice, but I really liked this movie. The movie was independent and fresh, it´s Dark and serious, the sound is very nice. Foxx and Collin impressed a unique style on the film.

Michael Mann did another great job.

Wow, 12 times... I think I saw it around 4, 5 times. This movie didn't get a fair shake. It may not be the greatest movie ever made, but it's a good, entertaining movie that is made for older audiences. Hollywood tends to stay in the PG/PG-13 arena so as to maximize it's money-making opportunities with the young kids/teens. And, as for those fans of the TV show, I've asked why would you want the movie to be just like the show? I like how we're thrown right in, and it doesn't explain everything.

I don't understand why so many people are down on it. I've heard numerous complaints -- Foxx and Farrell have little chemistry and the script could have used another revision -- and some are correct, but the movie has me going to watch it on DVD repeatedly. It's a stylistic, rather smart take on the modern-day drug trade, which has gone global, reaching far from Miami. I even know fans of the TV show who are down on it. But why would they want a straight remake? I like the movie's grittiness.
