oh my god! is that....larissa latynina?

  • Я люблю Ольгу!

  • Is she still alive?

  • @32B1Monkeys

    most definitely!!

  • Olga used to love to come to america and get ketchup; they dint have it in the USSR then. Now she lives in Atlanta and eats all the ketchup she wants. I wonder if she likes the ketchup song?

  • I don't speak Russian. I'm from Hungary.

  • Youtube is an international website. It may have been started by Americans, but people from every country with an internet connection can post videos. Have an open mind.

  • Another cocky American. I'm Russian and I'm in America too: you all will speak Spanish soon. You need to rush to learn it now.

  • i dont think her trainer only raped her, he had a room full of girls to train. im sure he had some pleasant time with more than one. No emotion at all on that guys face, he scares me.

  • Why would she ever lie about something like that? Also he beat her, he admitted up to that, It makes sense to me that he would that. I believe her.

  • she began the type of gymnastics that is seen to this day.

  • Gymnastics is one sport that has *not* gotten better with time. I love watching these old videos on YouTube to get the bad taste out of my mouth after watching the Olympics.

  • Tell me about it.

It just amazes how something like the floor routines,

something that used to look so beautiful has become this mechanic tumbling routine that seems to almost ignore the music in the background.

  • Bars are worst of all in newer gymnastics. ALL of the routines look the same. (Except for Beth Tweddle's and He Kexin's, which had tons of variety. Good for them.)

  • I understand what you all are saying, but it's the code's fault, not the gymnasts', and plenty of them still manage to be innovative and graceful and they work extreeeeemely hard to get to where they're at.

  • Such attention to dance technique, proper ballet training, etc. is the reason the Eastern Europeans-especially the Soviets-looked so good. Sad to say it is not the case in the 'artistic' gymnastics of today. If only...

  • Amazing that they are still doing Olga's beam moves to this very day. Her back flip on bars was also copied in the 1970's though such moves are unfortunately no longer allowed-I think they should be. I love Mukhina's version with the full twist.

  • Never seen this documentary before - how lovely to see such rare footage - Olga is my heroine

  • Is that at 5:47 Olga?

  • can anyone translate what olga's saying when she has that bird and shes laughing??

    thanks in advance :D

  • She is talking about the bird being a little Korbut. She resembles the bird. Something about free, then she says to open, something else . . . that's all I could catch.

  • hahah thats really sweet, love olga. thanks for translating!

  • Every time I see gymnastics documentaries in Russian or Romanian it makes me want to learn the languages! I need to take Berlitz or something. :)

  • The form! The exquisite form!!!! The beauty!

  • Amen to that. Even Olga who was not considered to be a 'classic' ballet-style gymnast had excellent technique on her dance elements.

Note the looks of the faces of Elvira Saadi and Ludmilla Tourischeva at 6:46 as they watch Olga on FX. They look not-pleased lol.

  • hey skata524??? is it possible you could get and english version of the Olga Korbut and Ludmilla Tourischeva documentary??? it ok if you cant...

  • Sorry but I can't :(

  • Just the same thanks ever so much for posting this!!! I love these rare gymnastics documentaries-so rare in the west.

  • Excellent!!!
