  • My grey asks me what I am doing all the time too. Like you I always respond with what I am doing well except the trips to the ladies room. LOL Not keen on yelling that through my house to him. I do as well have him come with me to watch what ever I happen to be doing as well too. He thinks he help me with dishes. LOL *moral support* of course.

  • you need to post the last known location exactly, even now,2 years later.

someone may had found her somewhere nearby, and had no idea where tui came from.

  • OHH dats nyc oh dats nyc.....the bird luks guud...my bird luvs 2 hav shower loool nyc video

  • He didn't deserve to lose her.

  • 4:18

Negative reinforcement is an increase in the future frequency of a behavior when the consequence is the removal of an aversive stimulus.

Positive punishment (like squirting water) adds something to the situation to decrease the chance of the behaviour being exhibited again.

    Pet peeve of mine ;)

  • say good girl and give it a treat coss it will then think hey i got a treat i must have done that right

  • Be Nice !! Be Nice !! So cute thou... :-)

  • Andrew, do you have a website? I'd like to see more videos. You have a great personality and it's so much fun to watch! Very helpful, thanks.

  • There's not going to be more videos, this time. His parrot is lost during free flying.

  • this is a great video. I have learn a lot thanks. hey by the way I'm single as well....LOl

  • when my bird bites me most of the time i won't react but because my african grey is a wildcaught bird he's really scared sometimes and then he will bite real hard, its strange when he bites me he will exactly say 'auwch' so funny =)

  • my parrot tastes my finger and hardly steps up

  • that means he dosn't want to be picked up

  • mine is 8monts old and is goin gr8 says a few things but most of the time he says it then wont say it agen but still is gr8 if you catch it cant wait till he is like tui :) xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Would this work for a pet budgie?

  • i have a young hans macaw. got it for a few days now. i cant seem to get it out of the cage. and i dont wanna grab it against its will. what do i do? please help me out.

  • She was probably just not sure if she could safely stand on your hand. You can brush their chest with te back of your fingers and let them test it out and she probably will get comfortable enough to step onto it. You probably solved it by now anyway though.

  • I'm so jealous of your bird xD, My congo is lazy!

  • very nice tuts both of them ya thx

  • hello. My african grey (Kiki) always bite me when i try to tuch her or get near hear. And even when i try to teach her words she will never say them. :( Please if u can tell me how i can teach her not to.

    Thank you

  • Thank you. I am a first time bird owner of a female pacific blue parrotlet. Training videos are great:) Make more pls. Good luck with Tui

  • These videos are very helpful, Thanks you.

  • has a god given rite to be out of her cage when ever i am in the room now. so i left her in the cage while i was in the room, and she scraped the floor till i would let her out again, but now the scrapng has not become so furious after i pesisted that she stayed in the cage over the space of a couple of weeks, :D

PS i dont think poppy is a female :P

as the shape of her head ect. says shes a male, once i get some money then i will get a DNA test done :D

    and il let you no

    thanx

  • hi again, just to update you on my last question i asked you,

i let my poppy out of the cage when ever she wants and she didnt like going in her cage after being out all the time, because she

  • is it true that you should only have your grey out for 4X 15 minute seprate sessions as a pose to a hole 1 hour ?

    steven

  • Never heard that before, Tui is usually out for hours at a time, until she craps on the sofa or floor or starts to nibble on something and ignores my telling her "NO"

  • my bird stays out most of the time since i go to school, he gets let out after i come home and i put her back in for 20 minutes at a time for a drink and a feed other than that she loves the top of my curains

  • absolutely NOT you probably misunderstood someone. You should only train your parrot 3 or 4 times a day for 15 minutes. You can have your bird out all day as long as they eat and drink of course.

  • that desire list of words is a great idea i will do that. every thing was good to learn i just personaly dont agree with what u said about when they bite u to react, i have learnt from experiance that when a parrot learns that you will react with a bite it will do it at any time they feel disconfert. when i try to teach my bird tricks it will bite but when i started not to react to the bite i found they slowly stop biteing. but not to take away from your video it was great.

  • actually I say don't react, but I was recently introduced to another grey who bites 10 times harder than Tui where it is impossible not to react. This bird crushed my finger and it was painful for 5 days so it is easier said than done I know but I suggest you don't react

  • sorry i heard you worng ya its hard not to i got my blue fronted amazon and congo grey 2 years ago , my grey dont bite me n e more but when i first got him it ripped skin easy and i guess i got used to it but what i do when i react is i place the bird on the ground and walk away, this was your not really responding negativly but still showing he did something wrong, but it was good to view your videos hopfully you can next time post a video with him talking :D

  • Good advice, wish I had flighted my grey in the beginning. Mine is a really talkative bird and makes up her own phrases that are relavent. I have always talked to her not at her, think it makes a difference.

  • re: 'biting'. My boss' parrot T-Bird will place your fingers in her mouth and dab with her tongue. She won't bear down, just put the finger in her mouth. I've been told sometimes this is a way the parrot identifies you, by the taste of the salt on your skin. She's a real sweetheart.

  • the part at 5:07 is kinda funny. Tui is a nice name for an african grey parrot. Tui hmmm good choice.

  • I've only watched the first 4 minutes of this so far but you made some very good suggestions and points I have to agree with one of the prevoius comments made the parrot does seem to be very relaxed and calm. I like it!

  • thats realy good your parrot is realy nice and relaxed

  • great info! i adopted a 6 year old, highly neglected, highly plucked. he was clipped from birth. in the last two years he has lived with me he has gained feathers and confidence in flight (sloooowly). he has learned some words with me, do u think it's ever too late?

i don't care, particularly, but i don't want to have expectations he can't meet!

    GREAT show!

  • how much does one cost?plz answer

  • 1200 dollars definetly not something to do on a whim because of their long life and exspensive cost but if u can afford one the good news is after the buying the bird and cage the exspensive part is over

  • i recently got a greenwing macaw which is a parrot and theyre suppose to be really sweet and nice and she is, but she cost around 1500 i think. my kiwi (her name) is gonna be my life long partner tho!

  • WOW Great Video! lost of information my african grey, Binkie Joe and i thank you! i will talk more too my bird like you do in the hope he talks more then he does now :-D

  • Very good advice - I agree with it all- wished I knew the don't-clip-the-wings-in-the-first-2-years thing. But I have to say, that a parrot's behavior at 2+ is a lot different than a parrot's behavior at 5+. Once the hormones hit, it's a whole new ballgame. Still, all this communication is extremely good and can save a lot of wear and tear on you when they reach puberty.

  • could u train a parakeet to talk????

  • my parakeet talks, so yes you can. But If you want your bird to talk, get the male bird(especially for parakeet)

  • Very good presenation with proper and correct information.

    Phoenix Grey Parrot
